This tour provides an outstanding overview of the state's capital city and its scenic attractions, including one of the world's only drive-to glaciers, the Mendenhall. Your guided tour takes you through Juneau's picturesque downtown. Visit the Mendenhall Glacier, a moving river of ice with rugged crevasses and a distinctive blue color. Stroll the walkways to the Visitor Center and take in one of the glaciology exhibits, an interpretive talk with a Forest Service Ranger, or simply enjoy the panoramic view of the glacier. Afterward, you'llo visit Juneau's Macaulay Salmon Hatchery and Visitor Center. Note: This tour operates under a special use permit issued by the U.S. Forest Service. Ride the historic White Pass and Yukon Route Railroad Railway and traverse the Yukon Suspension Bridge for a true Alaskan adventure. From an antique parlor car enjoy the spectacular scenery while your tour guide shares the stories and history of the Klondike Gold Rush with you. Upon arrival in Fraser, British Columbia board your motorcoach for the short ride to Tutshi Canyon. Thrill to the roaring white-water rapids of the Tutshi River and canyon views as you cross the swaying Yukon Suspension Bridge on foot.
Visit the interpretive areas with lively graphic panels that reveal the natural and human history of the area. Tagish First Nation Staff and Elders are onsite and available to answer questions. There’s also a gift shop with authentic items and art from First Nations Communities. Board your motorcoach for the journey down the west side of the White Pass Canyon back to Skagway. You’ll see picturesque points such as Tormented Valley and Pitchfork Falls as your drive/guide shares stories of the stampeders who trekked through the pass in search of gold.

Experience an unforgettable journey along the eastern side of White Pass aboard the world famous narrow gauge White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad, built more than 100 years ago through some of the North's most rugged terrain. Board a comfortable, vintage rail car and retrace the original route beyond the summit of White Pass at 2,865 feet through breathtaking scenery. Upon reaching Fraser, British Columbia, you’ll board a motor coach for the journey down the west side of White Pass Canyon as you hear about Tormented Valley and Pitchfork Falls.
Stop at historic Liarsville, a gold rush trail camp located at the foot of the White Pass and nestled beside a waterfall. The camp was named for the journalists whose reports on the Klondike Gold Rush included tall tales of the prospectors’ exploits. Browse the authentic camp exhibits, including antiques and garments left behind. A cast of sourdoughs and dance hall girls will entertain you with a hilarious melodrama and a poem. You’ll then be set free in the Liarsville gold fields, where you are guaranteed to find some gold of your own! Enjoy a snack, shop for souvenirs or have your photo taken with a dance hall girl or the camp’s sled dog mascot, Denali.

Arrive at a beautiful setting, in a lush rain forest alongside a creek, under translucent domes that protect you from the elements, rain or shine. Savor the aroma of wild salmon, grilling slowly over fires of fragrant alder wood. This sumptuous spread has something for everyone. Choose from grilled salmon, Cheechako Chicken, Chilkoot Baked Beans, Tongass Wild Rice Pilaf, Gold Rush Potatoes and a robust selection of other sides, salads and beverages. This wilderness expedition to the spectacular Davidson Glacier leads you through fjords, rain forests, colorful wildflowers, and towering mountains. Your adventure begins with a 75 minute journey through North America's deepest fjord aboard a high speed 26 passenger expedition boat. Watch for whales, seals, sea lions, and cascading waterfalls along the way to a remote beach at Glacier Point, one of the most beautiful places in Alaska.
After a short, adventurous drive across the forested glacial moraines, and a quarter mile walk, the forest suddenly opens to a breathtaking view of the glacier. The crystal blue ice tumbles from the jagged peaks into a pristine lake where 31 foot voyager canoes wait to take you to the very face of the glacier. Throughout your tour, expert guides share their extensive knowledge of this amazing area. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the beach amid fields of wild strawberries and iris tops before your return trip to Skagway.

Learn to handle a kayak from an expert then put your new skills to use with an unforgettable seaborne adventure. Glide through the waters native-style, get up-close looks at wildlife and enjoy ever changing views of the Mendenhall Glacier. Start with a narrated tour through a historic part of Juneau on your way to North Douglas Island. Don protective raingear, boots and lifejackets, and learn the paddling techniques you’ll need to handle your kayak. Then join a friend or new traveling companion in your two-person craft and you’re off to explore! Against a backdrop of forested slopes, nearby peaks and the spectacular Mendenhall, you’re on course for an informative and memorable tour of Fritz Cove. In small groups of six kayaks, you’re able to stealthily approach wildlife. Bald eagles and their nests, herons, shorebirds and waterfowl are all common sights. Porpoises and even humpback whales occasionally surface for air. If you’re lucky, you might see a humpback’s enormous tail fluke. You’ll also visit the Mendenhall Wetlands, a protected habitat teeming with more than 140 species of birds, nearly a dozen different mammals and an abundance of marine life. Along the way, your guide will satisfy your curiosity about local flora and fauna, and explain the history behind landmarks such as Smuggler’s Cove. At George Inlet Lodge, board your vessel and cruise the Inside Passage waterway on a journey that explores the region’s history and natural beauty. On your journey up the fjord, you’ll pass the old George Inlet Cannery, and Mahoney River Valley, home to bears, eagles, and salmon that return to spawn annually. Cross the fjord and view the Tongass National Forest in its entire splendor. A remote cove is home to Dungeness crab. Volunteers help pull crab pots, and while these crab are set free, you’ll have the opportunity to see them up close and learn about their anatomy and life cycle. Combine your helicopter Flightseeing tour with Alaska’s favorite sport, dog sledding. A short drive brings you to the heliport where following a safety video, you’re outfitted with boots and vests and ready to board your helicopter. Once airborne you’ll soar over stunning glaciers and snow fields before landing at the Dog Camp on Denver Glacier.
Here you’ll become acquainted with the world of “mushing” and dog sledding. You have the option to either stand on the sled and mush or relax in the sled and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. A truly authentic Alaskan adventure, this outing enables you to meet the professional Mushers and their friendly dogs that have made the Iditarod Dog Race famous.
Note: Flight time is approximately 30 minutes with approximately one hour at the dog sled camp. Participants must be able to enter and exit the helicopter with limited assistance. This tour is non-refundable. Time spent on the glacier is approximate and may vary due to weather and glacial conditions. Glacier boots are provided at the heliport. Not available after August 28. Guests 250 lbs. and over are charged an additional rate to reserve two seats for safety and comfort.
