Join professional mountain guides for an exciting rock climbing and rappelling adventure on the stunning granite walls of Alaska! Your adventure begins with an interpretive drive through historic Skagway and up into the majestic White Pass Gold Route. A short hike through the temperate rainforest on an interpretive trail will bring you to the base of the spectacular rock face carved by retreating glaciers.
Here you’ll gear up with rock climbing shoes, helmet and harness and then you’re off to enjoy this incredible experience. Choose between over a dozen climbing routes, each ending in an amazing view of the Skagway River and the surrounding wilderness. You’ll also have an opportunity to try an awesome 70 foot rappel! This adventure is perfect for those looking to try rock climbing for the first time, as well as for experienced climbers. Climbing is not mandatory, you can simply enjoy the tour, a cliffside snack, breathtaking views and watch the others scale the cliffs.
NOTE: Participants must be at least 8 years, weigh no more than 350 lbs., be able to hike for a few minutes over uneven terrain and dress in warm clothing that allows for good flexibility. Climbing shoes, helmet and harness are provided.

This excursion guarantees excellent eagle viewing. Majestic totems and a waterfront clan house demonstrate the historical native culture at Totem Bight State Park. Get a close-up view of Guard Island Lighthouse. Enjoy a short narrated drive through Ketchikan en route to meet your Captain and Alaskan crew. Board your vessel, where you’ll hear professional narration, while you munch on salmon spread, cheese, crackers, fresh fruit, and cookies. Hot chocolate, coffee, tea, water, or soft drinks are all free. Relax in the heated main cabin or experience the open-air observation deck. Observe the areas of harvest and ancient old growth, and learn of the historical and modern uses of this very special temperate rainforest and its complex ecosystem. Cruise by historic Ward Cove Cannery and Loggerville, Alaska’s only 'floating town.' One half of this tour features the Revillagigedo Island waterfront; with its homes of the local 'rich and famous,' while the remainder explores the remote Guard Island and primitive Gravina Island. Binoculars are provided for your use. Eagles, of course, are guaranteed and we usually see harbor seals and abundant moon jellyfish. Whales, deer, blue heron and a variety of gulls and sea birds are also common.

As you approach the Icefield and its many glaciers, you’ll marvel at the twisted spires, deep blue crevasses and carved peaks that make up this ancient landscape. Soaring even higher, you may pass the Mendenhall Towers jagged rock sentinels that climb more than 7,000 feet and the spectacular icefalls that overflow to form the Mendenhall Glacier. View icefalls, spires, and the many hanging glaciers suspended on the surrounding mountainsides before a gentle landing on this slowly moving river of ice and explore the glaciers’ surface with your expert glacier guide. See and understand how glaciers form, flow and carve out the landscape. Following your glacier landing, you’ll depart for a thrilling flight back to civilization. Flying over these icefields and the Mendenhall Glacier, you’ll know that you have just experienced something special, walking on water, viewing ancient sights and witnessing dramatic natural beauty in a way, few ever do. Discover the diversity of the southeast Alaska landscape via helicopter as you fly over temperate rainforests and granite peaks that surround Alaska’s capital city. To begin your walk, your pilot will choose a landing site on one of the 36 glaciers in this 1,500-square-mile Icefield. On this relaxing, non-strenuous, one-hour interpretive walk, your guide will point out and explain the glacier features and allows ample time for photos. Trekking poles and crampons will provide superb balance and traction, enabling you to travel easily on the gently rolling glacial terrain.
Note: Participants must be at least 8 years of age and be able to stand and walk on rolling terrain for an hour. Flight time is approximately 35 minutes, with an hour on the glacier. Your tour begins with a sightseeing drive along the northeastern coastline to a small town known as St. Ann’s Bay. View the sights from your comfortable coach seat as your guide narrates the history, tales and interesting facts about Jamaica. Observe the town’s classic Court House of 1866 and Statue of Columbus, honoring his landing. On the return drive, observe the culture of exciting Ocho Rios as you are comfortably chauffeured through the stimulating town. A stop will be made at Wassi Art, a local pottery of skilled artisans. A guided tour allows you to interact with these fine artisans as they turn clay into masterpieces, found in the tempting gift shop at the end of the tour. Then, visit Jamaica’s Garden of Eden, the place that the Taino Indians called “Coyaba” or Paradise. Hear the roar, feel the fresh mist of the spray from the spectacular waterfall, cascading down, level after glorious level. Follow the trails with your professional attraction guide through this rainforest. Experience all the shades of green, splashed with exotic flowers of every conceivable color. Your pilot will give you an eagle's eye view of high alpine lakes, "icefalls" hanging from sheer cliffs and some of the most remote peaks and glaciers in the Juneau Icefield, places like Wonderland, Glacier King, the Mendenhall Towers, and Devil's Paw. The itinerary is flexible; your pilot is free to create the best possible tour under the current weather and glacier conditions. For an up-close opportunity to appreciate this ancient landscape, your pilot will land in two different locations, where you'll continue the tour on foot! During these two landings you'll also learn about the geological and environmental processes at work creating moraines, crevasses, seracs, and the glaciers themselves. Join professional mountaineering guides for a three-hour trek through a glacial icescape. A scenic helicopter flight will take you to your trekking site. No experience is necessary, as guides will teach you the proper use of the mountaineering gear so that the remote areas of the glacier can be accessed. All you need to bring is a camera, a willing attitude and an appetite for adventure. For the more adventurous, there is the Extended Helicopter Glacier Trek which includes three hours of hiking and climbing over the rugged terrain of a glacier. Your guide will teach you basic climbing techniques enabling you to safely climb and descend the ice walls and lead your group on an exploration of the glacier’s most pristine and remote areas.
Note: Participants must be at least 16 years of age and in good physical condition. Flight time is approximately 35 minutes. Enjoy pristine alpine wilderness complemented by the scenery of snow-capped mountains that rise in all directions. Your experienced guide will share tales of the gold rush and tell you about the natural history. Watch for bear, mountain goat, caribou and eagles amid the alpine terrain of Tormented Valley. Enjoy a light snack before boarding a motorcoach for your return to Skagway.
Note: Participants must be at least 9 years of age. Guests over 6’4” and with a waist size over 44 inches may not fit in the kayak.
