Ride the rails in style, revisit the gold rush era, and experience the life of a prospector on this fun-filled family tour. In the comfort of your parlor car, a costumed escort “from 1898” will entertain you with stories of gold prospecting. The train follows the same route that thousands of prospectors trotted on foot in search of gold. Historical narration is provided by the White Pass & Yukon railroad crew as you witness the breathtaking panorama.
Transfer to a motorcoach for a short drive to the Klondike Gold Fields and be immersed in the wild history of the Klondike Gold Rush. The dredge master will acquaint you with the gold dredge, a 350 ton gold sifting machine brought back from the Klondike. Learn the art of gold panning and practice your technique in heated water. After you’ve hit pay dirt, weigh your fortune in the Gold Shack. Enjoy browsing in the Gold Parlor where you can shop for gifts and souvenirs. You can also watch a film about gold dredging or Alaska's Northern Lights. Food and drink is available for purchase at the Gold Rush Restaurant & Brewery.

Experience an unforgettable journey along the eastern side of White Pass aboard the world famous narrow gauge White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad, built more than 100 years ago through some of the North's most rugged terrain. Board a comfortable, vintage rail car and retrace the original route beyond the summit of White Pass at 2,865 feet through breathtaking scenery. Upon reaching Fraser, British Columbia, you’ll board a motor coach for the journey down the west side of White Pass Canyon as you hear about Tormented Valley and Pitchfork Falls.
Stop at historic Liarsville, a gold rush trail camp located at the foot of the White Pass and nestled beside a waterfall. The camp was named for the journalists whose reports on the Klondike Gold Rush included tall tales of the prospectors’ exploits. Browse the authentic camp exhibits, including antiques and garments left behind. A cast of sourdoughs and dance hall girls will entertain you with a hilarious melodrama and a poem. You’ll then be set free in the Liarsville gold fields, where you are guaranteed to find some gold of your own! Enjoy a snack, shop for souvenirs or have your photo taken with a dance hall girl or the camp’s sled dog mascot, Denali.

Following a motorcoach ride to scenic Auke Bay, you’ll board a waterjet-powered vessel specially designed for wildlife viewing. Relax in the warm, comfortable cabin, surrounded by large windows, as you ply the island studded waters of Stephens Passage. This area is world-renowned as a favored summer feeding ground for humpback whales. Once whales have been sighted, your skilled Captain will maneuver the vessel to allow exceptional viewing and photographic opportunities, as these graceful giants slowly arc their massive tail flukes into the air. The whales are often close enough to hear them breathe! With only five guests per boat, your professional guide customizes the excursion to fit your interests and skill level. Along the way, you may view seals, eagles, whales, birds, porpoise, spawning salmon, and even bears. With quality fishing gear, hone your skills landing a variety of rockfish, cod, or Pacific halibut. After fishing, the skiff heads to a remote wilderness campsite, where a crackling fire awaits in the rain forest of ancient cedars and spruce. Here, you’ll enjoy a gourmet meal of your own freshly caught fish, served atop a saffron-infused, bouillabaisse-inspired stew (no shellfish). Get ready for an Alaskan wilderness adventure on the Takshanuk Mountain Trail in Tongass National Forest! ake the wheel of a 4X4 Kawasaki Mule and join your guides as you journey through spectacular mountains and forests. Start with a scenic cruise aboard a high-speed catamaran down North America’s longest and deepest Fjord to the town of Haines. After your safety briefing, you’re ready to board your 4X4 and start your adventure.
Get your camera ready to snap the breathtaking scenery including mountain streams, a cascading waterfall, a scenic alpine lake, and the occasional eagle or bear! At the meadow, take in the panoramic view of Lynn Canal, Chilkoot Lake and the snow-capped mountains. Stop at mountaintop lodge for a freshly prepared meal of Halibut and chicken meal, with all of the fixings! (Vegetarian meals are available with a 24 hrs. notice). Make your way back to the trailhead and board your bus for a short tour of Haines and Fort William H. Seward.
