Explore the natural wonder of the Everglades from the comfort of your specially designed airboat. Informative, fun and exciting, this tour takes you deep into one of America’s largest National Parks - the Everglades. Here you’ll come face to face with alligators, exotic birds and native fish while gliding over an endless river of grass. Throughout the approximately 30-minute journey, your experienced guide will introduce you to the unique eco-system of the park as you experience the vast expanse of this saw grass wilderness passing by lush vegetation, mangrove swamps and hardwood hammocks. Known for its rich bird life, particularly large wading birds, be on the look out for the roseate spoonbill, white ibis, wood stork, great blue heron and a variety of egrets. It's also the only place in the world where alligators and crocodiles exist side by side. Following your airboat ride you’ll be able to explore the park on your own. The Reptile Show will provide you with an informative, interactive opportunity to become familiar with the features of the American alligators. You may also choose to take the Jungle Trail, which leads to an area featuring American Alligators, and a crocodile exhibit, including various species from around the world. Note: Participants must be able negotiate one large step to board the airboat. This tour is only for guests with flights departing after 3:30 pm from Miami International Airport. Guests are responsible for ensuring their debark tours are compatible with their departure flight times. Guests have the option to book their flights through our Premium Air Department to ensure that flight departure times do not interfere with debark tours. This tour is not available on Norwegian Sky sailings. less

Enjoy a narrated bus ride through the industrial area of Grand Bahama Island, passing the International Bazaar with its Tori Gate, along Church Row and the endemic pine forest. Upon arrival at the Botanical Garden of the Groves you have the option of a guided tour or to explore on your own. Interpretive signs will highlight this lush tropical landscape with trees and flowers from the Bahamas and around the world. You’ll find a replica of the original chapel from the early logging days, tranquil lagoons with cascading waterfalls, a spiritual labyrinth for meditation and an open-air cafe deck. Local artisans will display authentic Bahamian arts and crafts. Children will also be able to enjoy a magnificent cedar play set. Walk down into the cool fern grove and marvel at the magnificent limestone boulders that tower to both sides of your trail! You may also want to relax on the 'Lofty Fig' deck where cool Bahamian drinks and local delicacies can be purchased. After your visit to the gardens you’ll be transported to Port Lucaya Marketplace for some shopping before returning to your ship. Note: Sunscreen and insect repellent is recommended. less

Enjoy a relaxing and informative tour of the beautiful reefs around the Grand Bahama aboard the Ocean Wonder, a custom-built 60-foot double-deck glass-bottom boat that offers both sun and shade. The friendly crew will show you multi-colored sea-life and coral formations. Help 'feed the fish' and also view Cooper’s Medieval castle, an island landmark. Afterwards, weather permitting, you’ll travel further offshore to view Brit’s wreck submerged in the waters near Treasure Reef. Before you return to the dock, enjoy a pleasant cruise along the beachfront during which, sites of interest will being pointed out. Soda, bottled water and assorted chips are available for purchase aboard the boat. Tour duration includes one hour round-trip transfer time. Note: Participants must be at least 6 years of age and in good health. Must be able to manage several steps in and out of the boat with minimal assistance. less

This is a good opportunity to discover the city of Freeport. Your guide will take you through the industrial, residential and commercial areas of the city, giving you the history and culture of the island and its people. A short stay is recommended in the downtown area where you’ll see the local conch vendors performing their task of preparing a Bahamian conch dish. You’ll have a chance to shop in Port Lucaya marketplace, stop in the casino, stroll through the streets and even visit one of the most beautiful beaches on the island where you can purchase lunch. Note: Liquor can be purchased at duty-free prices. Towels and beach chairs can be rented at an additional price at the beach stop. The beach portion of the tour will be added as of 5/17/11. less
