Bahamas & Florida Cruises: Excursions

Explore the exciting world of Scuba in the crystal-clear waters of the Bahamas. You’ll be given a lesson by a diving Instructor who will teach you the basic concepts and skills for scuba diving. After receiving safety instructions, diving gear and practicing a few skills, accompany your instructor on a shallow dive with depths of approximately 15-30 feet. Your dive will last about 40-45 minutes depending on your air consumption. Here, you’ll find a large school of tropical fish while you explore the undersea world. Note: This is a one-tank dive for beginners. Participants must be at least 10 years of age and 5 feet or taller. Not advised for pregnant women or participants with history of heart or lung disorders. All gear equipment is included, except for wetsuits, which are at an additional cost. Bring your swimsuit and a towel. Dive cameras, t-shirts, food and soft drinks will be available for purchase. Guests need to fill out a medical history waiver form prior to participating. Guests currently taking medication or with a previous medical condition must provide a clearance note from their physician to participate in this tour. Join the adventure-seeking aquanauts for an underwater experience. The SUB is like an underwater motorbike with a big bubble filled with a constant flow of air. You’ll be given a lesson on how to use the SUB and some basic safety guidelines. Following an orientation, the SUB guides will take you on a tour of a beautiful shallow reef where they’ll feed the fish for you and stop along the way to point out marine life. Once you arrive to the site, you’ll dip into your SUB bubble and follow your guide. The trips are done in shifts of approximately 10 or 11 people at a time and you are welcome to enjoy a snorkel experience between shifts. It’s easy and fun; you don’t need prior Scuba experience. Note: Participants must be at least 12 years of age, 5' or taller and in good health. Wet suits and videos of your SUB adventure will be available at an additional cost. They will be shown in the shop following your return to the dock. Guests must sign a waiver release form. The approximate SUB experience is 30-45 minutes. Guests do not need to be strong swimmers. If time permits, guests can snorkel between shipts, it is optional and complimentary. Snorkel gear is included. less

See the best of the vibrant Grand Bahama Island on this adventurous jeep tour. A short bus ride from the pier will take you to your waiting jeep. Your adventure begins as you hop into your jeep and drive off, on the left side of the road, following British tradition. Enjoy a narrated tour of the city highlights with stops at points of interest; all this while learning about the island’s history, original Indian inhabitants and the early settlers. Visit the beautiful Garden of the Groves where you'll relax under a huge fig tree overlooking the waterfalls while enjoying lunch. Stroll through the lovely gardens, browse boutique shops featuring locally made arts and crafts and see artisans create native straw work. Your journey continues to one of Grand Bahama’s finest beach clubs where you can take a dip in the crystal clear water. Note: Participants must be at least 12 years of age. Guests wishing to drive must be at least 25 years of age and present a valid driver's license. Four guests per jeep; jeeps have manual or automatic transmission. Swimsuit, towel, camera, sunscreen, and strap sandals or closed toe comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Jeep will travel on unpaved roads at times and the ride will be bumpy. This excursion is not recommended for pregnant women or guests with back/neck injuries. Guests must sign a waiver release form. less

A treat for nature lovers, the Lucayan National Park is home to Ben's Cave - the longest, underwater surveyed cave system leading to the ocean - located on the eastern end of the island. They form part of the largest uncharted cave system in the world. Across Grand Bahama Street is Gold Rock Creek which is housing to the five ecosystems of Grand Bahama. You'll be able to step down to see part of the cave system and stroll along a wooden boardwalk through a mangrove ecosystem. Here you'll see a variety of wild birds, colorful fish and the spectacular Gold Rock beach - 52 miles of crystal-clear water and pearly white sand. Next, you’ll visit Banana Bay restaurant where you’ll have the option to purchase food and drinks. Lastly, you can choose to go shell hunting or just relax in the beauty of this sunshine paradise. Discover the tropical corals, colorful marine life, dramatic walls, reefs, and fascinating wrecks surrounding New Providence Island. Your first dive will be a wall covered with coral reef appropriate for new and advanced divers. Your dive master will lead the dive to 80 feet for approximately 30 minutes; however, you may prefer to stay up on the shallower ledge while others dive deeper. Your second dive is either a shallow reef or a wreck dive. Here, you may explore a 100 foot freighter in 50 feet; the famous James Bond wreck in 40 feet or dive in the Cessna used in the filming of Jaws. Note: Participants must be at least 10 years of age, 5 feet or taller, and in good health. Bring a towel, diver certification card, and log book. Full diving equipment will be provided. Participants should have dived within a one year period; otherwise, you’ll be required to present proof of a refresher course. A waiver release form must be signed prior to participating. Guests currently taking medication or with a previous medical condition must provide a clearance note from their physician to participate in this tour. less
