Step back in time and discover the artisans of the Saguenay region from a bygone era! Visit the Olivier Soap Museum and Workshop were the aromatic therapeutic properties of pure essential oils, the art of traditional soap making, the science of plants and flowers, and the history of pure olive oil are combined to create extraordinarily mild, biodegradable, long-lasting skin solutions. Then visit the Touverre Workshop. Glass blowing is one of the oldest forms of art and also one of the most difficult to master. The technique was used in Egypt and Syria thousands of years ago.
Nowadays in Saguenay, Guiseppe Benedetto, glass-maker and sculptor, performs this highly sophisticated technique for visitors to his workshop. The glassmaker’s goal is to develop top-of-the-line decorative objects such as whales, blueberries, fruits, lamps, perfumers and more. His creations integrate his art with architecture. Limited-series sculptures incorporate granite, glass, aluminum, bronze or steel contrasts in strength and fragility. You’ll next visit Les Bergeries du Fjord, a quaint little farm where you’ll discover the art of cheese-making. At the barn, learn about the latest methods of milk collection and cheese production. Savor this famous cheese with raspberry wine from a local winery.

Explore Acadia National Park offering sweeping vistas of majestic cliffs, rocky coves, glacier carved lakes and forests followed by a stop at the Looking Glass Restaurant for a seasonal treat. Travel the 27 mile Park Loop Road to Hull’s Cove and Cadillac Mountain, passing famous sights including Jordan Pond House, Otter Cliffs and Thunder Hole, where ocean swells converge against granite cliffs to create a thunderous roar. Depending upon weather conditions, stop for a souvenir photo atop Cadillac Mountain, the highest peak on the Atlantic coast, north of Rio de Janeiro.
The summit offers spectacular views of Bar Harbor and its surrounding islands. After visiting the park, enjoy a typical Maine seasonal dessert accompanied by tea, coffee or a cool beverage at the Looking Glass Restaurant with commanding views of Frenchman Bay.
