History comes alive on this authentic double-decker bus painted pink to support Breast Cancer. This one and a half hour city tour with your local guide will take you along the waterfront and through the heritage district of Charlottetown. Learn the story of Charlottetown's origins and its growth into a prosperous community during the Victorian Era. Experience the heritage and see some of the beautiful homes left behind and public buildings of wood, sandstone and brick. You’ll learn about the famous Conference of 1864, which gave the city its designation as the Birthplace of Canada.
The tour concludes with a guided walk up Great George Street, a charming national Historic District where you’ll walk in the footsteps of the Fathers of Confederation and learn first-hand about the Confederation. Your walk will take you by Saint Dunstan's Basilica, concluding at Province House, both being National Historic Sites of Canada. Then enjoy free time on your own for shopping and exploring this historic seaside town before returning to your ship.

Your friendly and engaging guide takes you to several venues to sample delectable, Maine inspired foods and for a behind-the-scenes look at those who craft these culinary delights. Along the way, learn about the colorful local history unique to Portland, that Bon Appetit magazine crowned as “America’s Foodiest Small Town” for 2009. As you sample the fare at the various stops, your guide and proprietor reveal the history behind their industry, the uniquely Maine products that are used and a little hint or two as to why they are simply award-winning year after year.

Your fully-guided tour allows you to take in all the cities main highlights or if you prefer, hop off at many of the stops along the route and enjoy what’s exciting for you. The 'All About Town Loop,' a 30-minute tour, takes in all the city's main highlights such as stops at the Spring Garden Road shopping district and the Museum of Natural History. Why not treat yourself to a walk through one of nicest Victorian Public Gardens intact and unspoiled in the heart of this modern city. See the Town Clock and learn about Canada’s oldest Anglican Church, St. Paul’s as you see first-hand the famous silhouette of a man’s head in the window. If you choose, take in the 'Boardwalk Loop' or the 'Changing of the Guard Loop' which highlights the Halifax Citadel, Canada's most visited national historic site, or stop at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic with its Titanic Exhibit. Pass by the impressive St. Saviour’s Church featuring 10 original Tiffany stained glass windows. The backdrop to Bar Harbor is the famous Cadillac Mountain, centerpiece of Acadia National Park. Enjoy a journey to the summit of Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on North America’s Eastern Seaboard. With a 360-degree panoramic view, you’ll see how glaciers carved through the granite cliffs to form a beautiful landscape of lush forest, lakes and valleys. From this vantage point you’ll have magnificent views of Frenchman Bay, the Porcupine Islands, the Atlantic Ocean, Acadia National Park and your cruise ship. Note: Walking is at your discretion. Most surfaces are paved but there are some uneven, slippery-when-wet areas and some steps. The photo stop at Cadillac Mountain is paved and partially accessible by wheelchair. However, there is very limited time for unloading with a lift at each stop. In adverse or foggy weather conditions, the Cadillac Mountain stop will be substituted with a visit to the Acadia National Park Visitors Center. The order of the stops might be reversed to avoid congestion. less

Board your Big Pink Sightseeing bus to explore Sydney, the largest community and commercial center of Cape Breton Island. Begin your tour in the historic north end settled in 1785 by British Loyalists from the New England colonies and pass by Victoria Park, the site of the original garrison camp. Continue through downtown Sydney with a brief stop at Wentworth Park for a photo opportunity. You’ll then proceed to Whitney Pier, the former site of Sydney Steel Mill which dates back to 1900. Visit the Historical Museum and learn about the importance the Sydney Coal Fields have on the local economy.
These industries brought immigrants from many parts of the world giving Sydney a multicultural mix of more than 50 ethnic backgrounds. Another photo stop will be made at The Melting Pot, honoring these people, their strong work ethic and cultural pride. Continue to the First Nations community of Membertou, a modern day blueprint for all aboriginal communities in North America. Return to the pier where you can do some shopping at the cruise terminal, visit the Interpretation Center and The Big Ceilidh Fiddle.

Enjoy the highlights of Boston both by land and on the Charles River as this tour combines a panoramic tour of the city’s most important and scenic sites followed by an exciting journey by water aboard the unique World War II amphibious vehicle called the Boston Duck. During your land portion of the tour, you’ll pass through the heart of Boston and along a portion of the Freedom Trail to catch a glimpse of the Old State House, the site of the Boston Massacre, the King’s Chapel, Granary Burying Ground, the Park Street Church as well as the expansive green of Boston Common. Pass by picturesque Copley Square, bordered by the architectural wonders of Trinity Church and the Boston Public Library. Then you’ll make your way past the Public Garden with its beautiful formal gardens and whimsical swan boats, the exclusive Beacon Hill neighborhood and the New State House with its impressive gold dome. Cross the Charles River and see Bunker Hill Monument, the Charlestown Navy Yard homeport of the USS Constitution, the New Charles River Dam and Park, and the infamous ‘Big Dig’ Project. Then your driver becomes Captain as your Duck makes a big splash into the Charles River for a brief tour by water. During your Duck cruise you’ll see the Craigie Drawbridge and the Longfellow Bridge linking Boston and Cambridge, as well as Fenway Park and the Esplanade in the distance. Continue to the First Nations community of Membertou where you’ll celebrate the heritage, culture and unique history of these people through educational and interactive experiences. Your tour guide and/or Elders of Membertou will encourage you to experience their story, learn Mi’kmaq dance and drum as they provide a hands on demonstration and instruction. Sample traditional Mi’kmaq food and/or treat as you learn the history of their food, perhaps comparing the old way with the new. Enjoy a walk in their garden area and visit Petroglyphs Gift Shop featuring arts and crafts from the Mi’kmaq Nation and other First Nations across Atlantic Canada. You’ll then board your coach returning to the ship along the waterfront.
