Head out to the second largest barrier reef in the world to learn about Roatan’s history underwater. Yes, you'll actually learn about it while snorkeling the pristine, calm waters just inside the reef as you visit the Underwater Museum. The coral garden will showcase the abundant marine life on the island. Roatan’s history goes back to the Maya civilization, and travels through time witnessing the arrival of the Conquistadores, the Garifuna and the fishing industry. During your tour today, you'll visit the Underwater Museum which showcases artifacts from each of those periods - including a sunken Spanish galleon - all surrounded by a beautiful coral garden on the barrier reef. After departing the pier on the way to the museum, your friendly guide will provide you with very useful and important information about the island. Upon arrival at the museum, you'll receive a safety briefing and your snorkel equipment and will head out to the starting point just a few yards off the dock on a boat for the 60-minute snorkel tour. Your snorkeling guides will be with you all the time to make sure you follow the path. Bring your waterproof camera as this is truly a unique snorkeling experience. After a brief tender ride to Belize City, you’ll board a motor launch for a guided tour of the Old Belize River. On this scenic waterway, look out for crocodiles, howler monkeys, iguanas and other wildlife. Join us for a fun-filled hour of snorkeling at The EX USS Kittiwake Wreck Site, the Cayman Islands newest shipwreck snorkel site. The snorkel site is in the Kittiwake Marine park, where all guests will receive a commemorative wrist band of the USS Kittiwake - a 251 ft. submarine rescue vessel, which sunk in 56 feet of water. The Kittiwake sits upright with her top deck only 4 feet from the surface. This wreck is a brand new attraction to Grand Cayman and is expected to be around for at least 50 years, due to her double hull structure and some 1800 tons. It is also a great site to see moray eels, lobsters and sea turtles. After the snorkel you will be transferred to Tiki Beach where you can enjoy the facilities including lounge chair and welcome rum or fruit punch. Our tour begins when you board your special bus for a ride through the beautiful landscape of Roatan Island. Your driver will take you through the Coxen Hole Commercial District and while in route, share the history of the island with you. Drive by the Municipal Building, the Fire Station and the commercial heart of Roatan and see how the street vendors wheel and deal their products, pass by the fish market and continue on to The Stone House where you'll learn about ancient art. Continue on to the First Methodist Church in Roatan (build in the 1800’s), drive through the hills to West End Beach and stop at El Mirador to see the east and south end of the island. Upon arriving in St. John, you'll view some of the most wonderful sights in the Caribbean, including white-sand beaches, crystal-clear waters and island views of the British Virgin Islands. You’ll also see Cinnamon Bay, one of the last working plantations on St. John. Back along the north shore coast road you’ll stop at overlooks such as Cinnamon Bay, Trunk Bay and Caneel Bay looking out over Rockefeller Plantation and Hawksnest Bay. This unique dolphin experience allows small children, ages four to eight, to get closer to dolphins than they ever dreamed possible. The program starts with a poolside introduction to a family of dolphins. Children can touch and interact with them in a hands-on session led by an experienced dolphin trainer on a shallow shelf in a specially designed maternity pool. A special feature of the Dolphin Kids program is that the youngest members of the dolphin adventure family participate alongside their mothers in this very unique family experience. Everyone will receive a friendly dolphin kiss and have a chance to pet and hug the dolphins. Parents may accompany their children to the dolphin center by paying for an observer ticket, but will not participate in the water with the dolphins. Estimated at over 5 million years old, the Green Grotto Caves is the first historic cave worldwide to receive the Green Globe 21 certification, a global affiliation working with travel and tourism companies and communities to develop and maintain good environmental practices. The caves are characterized by coastal limestone and feature a series of interconnected passageways and chambers, light holes, stalactites and stalagmites, as well as two lakes. Their most striking features are rock formations and the small 'grotto' lake at the innermost cavern. Take a 3/4-mile guided stroll through a maze of exquisite dripstone formations and learn about the sensitive eco-system found within and around the caves. See limestone formations that have been christened after the individuals they resemble, including Abraham Lincoln, Freddie Krueger and the cartoon character, Scooby Doo among others. Your guide will demonstrate the cave’s musical stones and be sure to toss a coin in the wishing well before your departure. A refreshing beverage is provided at the end of the tour. On the return drive to Ocho Rios, you’ll visit Dunn’s River Falls. Climb the spectacular 600-foot waterfall at Dunn’s River Falls and then shop for souvenirs in the center of town before returning to your ship. Note: Participants must be at least 4 years of age and be at least 3 feet tall to climb the falls. This is a walking tour and visitors will be guided through areas that are paved, with uneven surfaces, gravel and rocks. Visitors need to be sure footed and must be able to bend to negotiate small access ways. Slippery when wet caution signs are posted through the caves as a reminder to visitors. There are 62 steps throughout the tour. All visitors are fitted with a sanitary helmet liner and hard helmet and offered a spray of mosquito repellent prior to the start of the tour. The Dunn’s River Falls are the highlight of Jamaica and tend to be very congested. All guests participating in a tour that visits the falls should wear foot protection that can get wet. River socks are available for rent at the falls. The rocks at the falls are slippery. Climbing the falls is optional and at your own risk. Participants who do not wish to climb the falls may enjoy the small beach at the base. Board your transportation for a scenic drive to Coral World Ocean Park, one of the top attractions in St. Thomas. Upon arrival, you'll be escorted to the Undersea Observatory Tower for an educational briefing about sea lions. Then join the sea lions at their enclosure for the opportunity to get up close and personal with these intelligent yet comical creatures both on land and in the water.
