View the city of Roseau from a 400-feet elevation before continuing to the Botanical Gardens for a view of some of the world’s most exotic trees and rare birds, the Sisserou and Jaco parrots, on this cruise shore excursion. Move on to the village of Trafalgar and to the Trafalgar Falls, one of Dominica’s most fascinating and picturesque areas. You will have a unique view of the falls, as it cascades side by side out of deep gorges. Your guide will lead you on a 10-minute trek to the viewing platform of these majestic waterfalls. Next, pass through the city of Roseau, traveling up the Springfield Valley to the Trois Pitons National Park. You will soon arrive at the Emerald Pool for a 15-minute trek through the rainforest to the 40-foot cascading waterfall, the Emerald Pool. Note: Rain is frequent in the rainforest, so raingear and sturdy walking shoes are recommended. less

Take a 45-minute guided adventure through the Berry Islands, neighboring Great Stirrup Cay. After a safety briefing and orientation, you’ll board your Wave Runner for an informative and exciting guided tour. Some of the sights you may see include the Lighthouse at Great Stirrup Cay, Slaughter Harbor and the abandoned island community of Cistern Cay. Note: This tour is for single drivers only. Participants must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license. Maximum 1 person (driver) per water craft. The maximum weight must not exceed 450 lbs. All participants will be required to complete a liability release form and wear USCG approved life jacket and wet suit. less

Board your air-conditioned transportation for the approximately 45-minute drive to the infamous mud volcano. On the way to the volcano, pass by the imposing San Felipe de Barajas Fortress situated outside the walled city. Here, you’ll have the opportunity enjoy a panoramic view of the old city. Upon arrival at the mud volcano an orientation to the rustic facilities will be provided. A mud volcano is created by natural gases emitted by decaying organic matter underground. As the mud is pushed upwards by the gas, it deposits and hardens above ground and forms what appears to be a huge anthill. As more mud oozes out and spills over the edge it grows in size, gradually forming what you can see today: a miniature 50-foot volcano with a rich, creamy, mud crater at the top. If you have never been in a mud volcano before, then the initial feeling of mud on your skin is unusual to say the least. When you feel like you are about to become one with the earth, just climb back down the staircase and stroll down to the nearby freshwater lake where you can wash the mud off. Note: The temperature of the mud is very warm to hot, therefore those who are susceptible to heat must not participate on this tour. It's said that the mud has healing properties; however the truth to this statement is not proven. To reach the top of the mud volcano where the pool of mud is located, requires the negotiation of numerous, steep steps. Wear a swimsuit and bring a towel and adequate sun protection. less

From the pier, board a speedboat and after a safety briefing, begin an ecological experience. Known for having one the lushest rainforests and mangrove reserves in the Caribbean, Los Haitises National Park is a beautiful sanctuary. You'll circle the small cay known as 'Bird Island' as your guide explains the importance of the many migratory and indigenous birds that inhabit the island. Your Captain will dock the boat at an area of captivating caves and your guide will provide information on the people that inhabited these caves and the islands. Cave drawings representing the gods and the daily life of the Taino Indians will give you a glimpse into the life of these ancient people. You'll also see beautiful stalagmites and stalactites which have formed over centuries. Note: Participants must be able to navigate uneven surfaces. This tour is not recommended for pregnant women. Wear comfortable clothing, closed-toe footwear or Teva®-type sandals. less

Note: Participants must be at least 5 years of age and able to swim 50-100 yards from the boat to the beach as the boat does not pull up to land at Virgin Gorda. The footpath to The Baths is rough, consists of uneven terrain and goes through small spaces. Wear your swimsuit and bring a towel. Alternate destinations may be used if sea conditions prohibit a stop at the Baths. less
