Huatulco’s surrounding communities are no exceptions if you want to take a piece of Mexico back home! Begin your tour in the small town named Piedra de Moros, where you’ll visit the medicinal plants and herbs. Receive a brief explanation of their names and which diseases they can cure. Taste a refreshing tea of lemon herb and see the traditional way of making "tortillas" and bread. Learn the use of "Nopal" (Cactus) and sample all these traditional Mexican products. Your next stop will be Santa Maria, here you’ll visit its beautiful church that was built on the 17th Century. Visit local blacksmith's artisanal shop with more than a century old, and where nowadays working tools are made with recycled materials. Then, stop by a Rustic Mezcal Factory where the elaborated process of distillation of this traditional Oaxaca´s beverage will be shown as well as the different uses of the "Maguey" plant. Return to your ship with memories of real lifestyles of Mexican Communities. Note: Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Guest must be in good health. Not recommended for pregnant women. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Bring sun screen and cash as credit cards are not accepted in the small towns. less

Explore the amazing world of Huatulco by water and land. Visit the beautiful beach of "La Entrega", where healthy coral plates shelter millions of colorful fish. Once here, don’t miss the "Bat Cave", located a few yards from the beach; snorkel into the cave and discover why it’s called the Lover’s Corner. Relax under a palm umbrella called ‘Palapa’ and enjoy refreshments or a delicious seafood dish at an additional cost. Next, swim the underwater world of Huatulco while tanning under the sun of this Mexican South Pacific beach. On your way back to the pier, you’ll have the chance to fill your eyes with different tones of blue from the sightseeing spots located along the roads and enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of the shoreline of Huatulco. You’ll make a stop on the impressive viewpoint of “La Entrega” where you’ll be able to take pictures while admiring your ship and the Bay of Santa Cruz. Note: Participants must sign a waiver release form. Bottled water is provided in the van. Tour itinerary might vary and could change to an alternate site depending on weather conditions, water clarity and sea conditions. Please wear your swimsuit and a t-shirt for snorkeling. Start with a panoramic drive to view of the San Felipe de Barajas Fortress, situated outside the walled city. This monumental fort is considered to be the most outstanding feat of Spanish military engineering in the new world. After a quick drive through the narrow streets of the walled city, you’ll continue along the coastline to La Boquilla fisherman village. Embark on a leisurely canoe ride through the mangrove tunnels across the Swamp of the Virgin. Visit the mangroves at La Cienaga de Juan Polo, where a great diversity of birds such as Kingsfisher, White heron, Common Laura, Pink Spatula and Pelicans live. Relax as you enjoy the beautiful flora and fauna that encompasses this fascinating eco-system. Note: Wear comfortable clothing and shoes and bring sunscreen and a hat. The last portion of this tour is a canoe ride only; guests do not get to paddle the canoe. less

Drive through the center of Oslo and pass all of main sights including Akershus Castle, the new Opera House, Parliament Building, National Theater, the University and the Royal Castle. On your way to the museums, you’ll pass one of the farms belonging to the royal family. Visit the Viking Ship Museum, housing three authentic long ships and items found aboard the ships from the Viking era. Next you’ll stop at the Vigeland Sculpture Park. The park features an amazing assemblage of over 150 sculptures in stone, iron and bronze. Created by Gustav Vigeland, they represent the various stages of life. As you stroll along the paths, your guide will discuss this incredible park and its art. Continue through the beautiful residential areas of Oslo past Holmenkollen Ski Jump and stop for a fantastic view of the city and the fjord far below.

A guide will provide you with information on the general history of Cartagena and the sights. While cruising, take in a lovely view of Fort of Manzanillo located at the eastern entrance of the bay. Enjoy the sun and the cool tropical breezes as you forge ahead between the faraway island of Tierra Bomba and the Castillo Grande peninsula. Marvel at the age-old walled city of Cartagena and enjoy a refreshing drink as you get lost in the panoramic views of land and sea. Following, you’ll have a chance to enjoy a traditional folkloric show celebrating the history and culture of Cartagena. Note: There is a total walking distance of 150 yards. Float down the Copalita River in an eight-person raft and experience its beautiful landscape. Your guide will give instructions and safety briefing, and then you'll enjoy your descent while floating silently downstream for approx 60 minutes. There is much to see for all nature lovers: The natural habitat of the local tropical birds, parrots, egrets, herons, frigate birds, cormorants, sand pipers, king fishers, oriols and wrens; and the variety in tropical flora and fauna - 80% of the vegetation is low jungle caducifoliae (drops leaves once a year)- with some tree species growing up to 18 meters. Approximately 100 species of birds are present in this area, including several endangered, protected and rare species. This is an unforgettable day with overwhelming natural beauty. Note: Participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Guests must be in good physical condition. Pregnant women and guests with heart or respiratory conditions or back and neck injuries are not allowed to participate. Not recommended for guests in wheelchairs or who use walking aids such as canes or crutches. Necessary gear such as helmets and life vests will be provided. Immerse yourself in the nature and history of Huatulco. Discover a beautiful adventure as you kayak down the Copalita River, nestled among the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains. You'll travel by van approximately 30 minutes from the pier to your Rafting Base Camp where professional guides will provide a safety briefing and instructions. Kayak though the waters of the Copalita River and enjoy the spectacular sights and sounds of the river valley as you make your way through the mountain foothills past lush tropical vegetation. You can easily imagine the Zapotec people who originally inhabited this region canoeing along this same route to transport goods between their cities. Keep your eyes open for birds and other wildlife as you canoe to the mouth of the river where you’ll have free time to relax on Bocana Beach. Note: Participants must be at least 12 years of age. Would you like to enjoy a day of authentic Mexican fun? At Hacienda Dona Engracia we have a real Mexican Fiesta planned for you, with colors, displays, contests and more. Upon arrival enjoy a guided tour of the hacienda and tequila factory, with free tequila samples. During lunch you’ll be entertained with music, displays of dancing horses, traditional Mexican folkloric ballet and of course, typical Mexican food. After the party there will be time for some contests, prizes and fun. Then you’ll head to the downtown area for a city tour and some shopping in the heart of Puerto Vallarta. Passing through the charming downtown area you’ll see the famous waterfront Malecon, the ever popular statues and the beautiful Our Lady of Guadalupe Cathedral before you head back to your ship. Discover the Mexican countryside on horseback. Arrive at Hacienda Dona Engracia where your guide will conduct a short orientation, then match each rider with a horse that suits his or her ability. Riding along the Mascota River, you’ll pass through quaint little villages, viewing local scenery and vegetation. Wear a swimsuit under your riding clothes because if conditions permit, you may enjoy a swim on horseback or relax at the hot springs. Then you’ll head back to the hacienda to explore before you rejoin the transportation back to your ship Note: Participants must be at least 12 years of age, weigh no more than 220 lbs. and in good physical condition. Wear long pants and sturdy, closed-toe shoes. During certain times of the year, the river rises and forces the tour to follow the mountain trail, cancelling the swim. Begin your tour with a view of the impressive military fort of San Felipe de Barajas, the greatest and strongest fortress ever built by the Spaniards in their colonies. This is an exceptional accomplishment of Spanish military engineering where construction began in 1656 and lasted for 121 years. At the Rafael Nuñez House, a horse carriage ride will take you through the narrow streets of the walled city where you’ll find Colonial houses and squares such as La Merced, Santo Domingo, Custom Square, San Pedro Claver, and the beautiful Baroque door of the Inquisition Palace at Bolivar Square. Visit the dungeons within the walled city ramparts which were built to store provisions for the troops and are now home to a high quality handicrafts market. This market offers a variety of brightly decorated cloths, woodwork and woven bags made by some of the indigenous people of Colombia. Note: Bring comfortable attire, hat and sun block. less

Upon arrival in Scalloway, the former Shetland capital, you’ll visit the castle, built in 1600 by the tyrant Earl Patrick Stewart using forced labor. It is four stories high and now roofless. Your next visit will be the nearby Scalloway Museum which houses a special "Shetland Bus" exhibition depicting the village's unique role in WWII operations. You’ll continue through the Tingwall Valley with its Norse heritage and arrive for a visit to the Gott Ponies. These were owned and bred by David Roberson, a Shetland pony enthusiast, breeding very good quality ponies. David or a member of his staff will be delighted to share their knowledge with you. Afterward, you’ll head northward through peat and heather covered landscapes. On the return journey to Lerwick, you may wish to take the opportunity to photograph one of the spectacular views of many of the islands that make up the Shetland’s archipelago. less
