This excursion combines the charm of both old and new Mexico. Begin with a drive through the Marina Vallarta area and a stop at the small village’s local church. Continue to Hacienda Dona Engracia, one of the finest tequila factories in the area for a first-hand look at the manufacturing process of tequila and some free time to explore the grounds of this working hacienda. A short shopping stop will be made on the way into the center of Puerto Vallarta where you can walk along the popular Malecon, visit the Cathedral of our Lady of Guadalupe and see Old Town City Hall, while taking in fantastic views of the waterfront and the charm of the cobblestone streets. You may choose to stay in town on your own or return to your ship. Note: Short pants are not permitted in the cathedral. Tequila samples are only given to guests 21 and older. less

Begin with a scenic drive around the Upper Town of Tallinn. Pass by the old town wall from the 13th century, the Fat Margarete Tower and the main railway station. You’ll leave the coach at the Tall Hermann Tower for a short walk to the Palace Square. Visit the Russian St. Alexander Nevski Orthodox Cathedral (1900), displaying a lot of spectacular icons. Take a short walk to several panoramic viewpoints where you can enjoy the view over the Lower Town, harbors, marinas, commercial ports and even do some shopping.
Take a short drive to the Seaplane Harbour, an Estonian Maritime Museum. This unique museum displays some large exhibits, most of them housed in the seaplane hangars built in 1916-1917. Originally, a part of Peter the Great’s Naval Fortress, the Seaplane Harbour has lately been restored for the needs of the Estonian Maritime Museum. It exhibits the Lembit submarine, the Suur Toll steam icebreaker, Short Type 184 seaplane and other life-size items. This is a great experience for the entire family to see and do such as: the Yellow Submarine, an aquarium, games, a cafeteria, the harbor and many more. During your stay at this museum you’ll also have an opportunity to enjoy a coffee break at the cafe and to visit the museum shop. At the end of your tour, board your coach for a return ride to the pier.

Learn about the history of Tunis during your visit to the Bardo Museum and Carthage. Immerse yourself in the sounds, colors and scents of the streets of Medina and stroll the lanes of picturesque Sidi Boud Said. The Bardo is one of the most important museums in North Africa. It offers a wealth of artifacts and mosaics, which take you through the centuries of Phoenician, Roman and Arab history. Its collection of Roman mosaics is considered one of the largest in the world. Shop for souvenirs or just enjoy a stroll through the meandering streets of Medina.
Enjoy a buffet style lunch of Tunisian and international foods at a local restaurant. Let your imagination take you back to Phoenician and Roman times at the site of what once was the great city of Carthage. Visit the remains of this ancient city, which was one of the most powerful in the Western Mediterranean. You’ll stop to view the Roman baths, Punic tombs, sarcophagi, mosaic floors and the remains of an early Christian basilica. Delight at the sight of the colorful white and blue houses lining the cobbled streets of Sidi Bou Said, a picture perfect village. Enjoy some free time here to do some shopping, take some pictures or simply browse at the shops.
Note:This tour is not suitable for guests using wheelchairs or with walking difficulties. There is substantial amount of walking, including Roman roads in Carthage on even, uneven, gravel and stones, 2 flights of stairs at the Bardo Museum, steps and cobblestones in Sidi Bou Said.

Hop in your jeep and drive through the rugged terrain of Mykonos to the old lighthouse. Continue your drive to the Fragma and to Agios Ioannis where you can see the island of Delos from a distance. Following the road to Kalo Livadi, you’ll admire the great view of rugged rocks to the left and right. Arriving at Kalafatis Beach, you’ll be given free time to swim in the crystalline waters of the Aegean; umbrellas, sun beds and water sport facilities are available on the beach at your own expense. As you explore the hidden corners of Mykonos Island you’ll pass by Monastiri before arriving at Ano Mera Village. Here you’ll enjoy some snacks and refreshments at the peaceful square of the village before taking the road back to your ship. Note: The vehicles are manual transmission and self-driven. Driver must be experienced with manual transmission and be able to start the vehicle on an incline or off road situation. There is no narration while driving; your leader/guide will give explanations at the different stops. If you would like a personal driver for the vehicle, please visit the Shore Excursion Desk on board to make arrangements for an additional cost. Drivers must be at least 21 years old and must provide a valid driver’s license. Four persons can be accommodated per vehicle, but we recommend two persons per vehicle, as the back seats are not comfortable for some adults. Even though this tour has limited participation, a minimum number of participants is required to operate. Not recommended for guests with neck, back or hip problems as well as physical limitations. If you plan to swim at the beach, please remember to wear your swimsuit, and bring a towel and sun protection. No changing facilities or showers are available. Swimming will only be possible from June through September. Temperatures can reach extreme highs during summer months; we recommend that you drink a lot of water, use suitable sun protection and dress in layers. In case weather is not permitting, the beach stop will be replaced with free time in Mykonos town at the end of the tour. This tour is only available from June through August. less

The houses of Gordes rise in picturesque tiers above the Imergue valley on the edge of the Vaucluse plateau. The stone buildings built in tight against the base of the cliffs and those perched on the rocks above, including the 12th century castle, are made of a beige stone that glows orange in the morning sun. Enjoy the atmosphere of this charming village and stroll through the small paved, sometimes stepped alleyways lined with gutters defined by two rows of stone with vaulted passageways, arcades of old tall houses and rampart ruins. Continue your exploration of Provence with a short drive to Roussillon, a village that stands on the highest hill between the Coulon valley and the Vaucluse plateau. These striking hills, composed of ochre rock of 16 or 17 different shades featured in the local houses, enhance the beauty of the village and the surrounding countryside. Architecture, history, food or shopping! Whatever your interest is, the ambiance and medieval charm of Aix en Provence is an enjoyable excursion. Leaving the harbor of Toulon, you'll drive to Aix en Provence, the Capital of Provence. Your guide will take you for a walking tour where you’ll see the Cours Mirabeau one of the most popular and lively areas in town. This wide avenue decorated with fountains and shaded by rows of trees is the central hub of Aix. Built in the 17th century on the site of the medieval ramparts, the Cours Mirabeau originally had no shops or boutiques. On one side stand the aristocratic facades of the old hotels with their finely carved doorways and wrought-iron balconies. One of the nicest fountains you'll see is certainly the natural hot water fountain covered with moss, dating from 1734. You’ll reach Saint Sauveur Cathedral, a unique building due to its combination of architectural styles that date from the 5th to the 17th century - the Romanesque nave, baptistery of the Merovingian period, Triptych of the Burning Bush and the flamboyant Gothic part. Enjoy some free time in Aix before your drive back to Toulon. Note: There is approximately 2 miles of extensive walking on relatively flat terrain. less

The coastline east of Malaga is not as well known to tourists as the other side, but towns such as La Cala, Rincon de la Victoria and Torre del Mar, are popular for Spaniards. Along this subtropical coast grow sugar cane, avocado and custard trees. Some 35 miles from Malaga is Nerja, which counts many retired Britons among its residents. The historic center, which begins in the Balcony of Europe, dates from around 1487. Its 9th century castle is today a perfect view point above the sea. To the side of the balcony, you’ll find the 17th century Savior Church, constructed in Baroque-Mudejar style and the 16th century Our Lady of Sorrows Hermitage with its paintings by the master Alonso Cano. In the old quarter of town, typical small shops offer local handicrafts and local products such as sweet wine, olive oil, honey and tropical fruits. After a walk through the city, you’ll continue to the famous Caves of Nerja. Millions of years old, these breathtaking beautiful caves, should not be missed. Your surroundings get more fascinating as you descend deeper into the bowels of the earth. In its interior you’ll gaze in awe the largest stalagmites columns in the world, 161 feet high and 59 feet in diameter. Their capricious rocky formations can be compared to Modernist cathedrals, and their eight rooms include the Room of the Cataclysm, as well as the Room of the Cascade. Every year in August the Festivals of Music and Dance take place here. Note: This tour includes approximately 1 1/4-mile (2,000 meters) of walking and there are approximately 400 easy steps to be negotiated; they are perfectly safe, but not suitable for guests with walking difficulties. less

Alesund, the largest town on the Northwest coast, has a beautiful setting, built on several islands stretching out into the ocean. You will drive to the Atlantic Ocean Park, a unique aquarium in Norway. Here, the tanks are built to resemble the coastal environments and its largest tank contains 4 million liters of seawater. You can even view the marine life through an acryl panel that is 26,5 cm thick, 18 m long and 4 m high. The Atlantic Ocean Park also features an out-door pool with penguins; here, you can look straight out towards "Breisundet" - the wide sound surrounded by islands and far out the open ocean. You’ll see seals coming regularly to be fed! On the way back we have the opportunity to study some of the fine details of the "art nouveau" architecture before we head up to Mount Aksla. Here we make a stop to take in the spectacular view towards the ocean and the many islands spread out. After a short drive through the streets of Ålesund we are back at the pier. Take a journey into the heart of rural Chiapas for a deeper understanding of the local people and landscapes. Discover the culture that blends ancient traditions with modern necessity. Board your air-conditioned bus and travel through the Chiapas countryside to the Ejido Miguel Aleman banana farm. Your guide will acquaint you with the history of the region, its people and traditions, as well as the growing and collection process of the bananas. Then, travel into the town that owns and runs the banana co-op and visit the local community center or school; here, you’ll meet and mingle with the local children and the dedicated teachers and social workers. You’ll be able to donate a kit pack to one of the kids at the community center or local school. The kit pack contains some of their basic day to day needs. Continue to the Banana Packing Plant, where you’ll discover how the whole community works together to pack the bananas they all produce. On the way back, you will get a last glimpse of life in rural Chiapas before returning to the pier. Note: Guests should wear a hat and comfortable shoes. Bring eco-friendly sunscreen and bug repellent. Part of the proceeds of this tour will go to the community center learning program. Most areas are not wheelchair accessible. less

Depart the pier for a short walk across to the train station to board your exclusively chartered train for an approximate 3 to 3 ½ hour journey to Berlin. While relaxing and watching the countryside, you’ll be served a light breakfast snack. Upon arrival in Berlin you'll be welcomed by your local tour guide. During your panoramic tour of colorful Berlin you'll stop at a remnant of the Berlin Wall and the famous former border crossing "Check-Point-Charlie". Continue to the Brandenburg Gate, which symbolizes the German and European reunification. You'll pass the Reichstag government building and the newly erected Holocaust Memorial. Drive along the Kurfurstendamm, Berlin's version of the Champs Elysees and bypass the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church before you circle the Gendarmenmarkt, home to the German Dom and the French Dom. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before the drive to Potsdam. Upon arrival enjoy a panoramic tour of this capital of the Brandenburg State, with its baroque city center and numerous palaces. Next you'll visit the centerpiece of Potsdam and summer residence of Frederick the Great, the Palace of Sanssouci. Depart this UNESCO listed World Heritage Site and continue to Cecilienhof Palace, built in 1916 in the style of an English country house. This was the site of the Allied Potsdamer Conference when the borders of Europe were redrawn after World War II. A historical conference attended by Churchill, Truman and Stalin was held here to discuss the future of Germany. You'll cross the Glienicke Bridge, where spies were swapped between the American and the Soviet sectors during the Cold War. This two full day tour combination lets you enjoy the best of St. Petersburg: Catherine's Palace, Hermitage Museum, Peterhof Grand Palace and a city tour.
Day 1: Your tour takes you outside of the city to the town of Pushkin (former Tsar's Village) where you’ll visit Catherine’s Palace. Peter the Great presented this estate to his wife Catherine in 1710. It was used as the summer residence of the Royal Family. Its grandiose, white-and-gold facade stretches 978 feet. You'll walk through a series of magnificent rooms, including the famous the Great Hall and the Amber Room. The town of Pushkin is famous for the man it was named after – Alexander Pushkin, the most celebrated poet in the country. Continue to one of the dining venues for lunch, and then drive to the Hermitage Museum, the largest art museum in Russia and the most prestigious museum in the world. The Hermitage Museum occupies the Winter Palace, the winter residence of the Russian Tsars, and four more buildings.
Day 2: Begin with a transfer to Peterhof, the town of palaces, fountains and parks, which was built by Peter the Great to rival Versailles. It lies on the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland. The Grand Palace is known as the most brilliant of all the summer residences of the Russian Tsars. The layout of the 300-acre park and spectacular fountains was designed by Peter himself. The Grand Cascade consists of three waterfalls, an avenue of 64 fountains and 37 gilded statues. After your visit of the palace interior, continue with a one hour to drive back to the city to enjoy your lunch. The next stop is the Spit of Vasilievsky Island, where you'll enjoy views of the city. Then you'll have a tour of St. Peter and Paul Cathedral, where you'll be surrounded by marble columns and glittering chandeliers. The tour continues along the Neva embankment, and drives along the Nevsky Prospect, towards your ship.

Note: This tour is not recommended for persons with walking or climbing difficulties. There are long walking distances through the Gardens of Pushkin and Peterhof Park. Catherine’s Palace and Peterhof Grand Palace is not wheelchair accessible due to the steep staircase and no elevators. There is extensive walking between different parts of the Hermitage. Expect congestion and waiting at attractions. Visit to inside of Peterhof Palace is approximately one hour and interior rooms only, fountains can be seen from a distance. Photo/video is prohibited inside the Grand Peterhof Palace. Tour sequence may vary and depends on the museum’s availability. The Russian government charges a nominal fee to use your camera and video inside various palaces and museums of St. Petersburg. Fees are payable to your guide and correct change is required.
