Architecture, history, food or shopping! Whatever your interest is, the ambiance and medieval charm of Aix en Provence is an enjoyable excursion. Leaving the harbor of Toulon, you'll drive to Aix en Provence, the Capital of Provence. Your guide will take you for a walking tour where you’ll see the Cours Mirabeau one of the most popular and lively areas in town. This wide avenue decorated with fountains and shaded by rows of trees is the central hub of Aix. Built in the 17th century on the site of the medieval ramparts, the Cours Mirabeau originally had no shops or boutiques. On one side stand the aristocratic facades of the old hotels with their finely carved doorways and wrought-iron balconies. One of the nicest fountains you'll see is certainly the natural hot water fountain covered with moss, dating from 1734. You’ll reach Saint Sauveur Cathedral, a unique building due to its combination of architectural styles that date from the 5th to the 17th century - the Romanesque nave, baptistery of the Merovingian period, Triptych of the Burning Bush and the flamboyant Gothic part. Enjoy some free time in Aix before your drive back to Toulon. Note: There is approximately 2 miles of extensive walking on relatively flat terrain. less

Visit Stockholm’s oldest and coziest quarters, the Old Town of Gamla Stan. Witness the historic elegance of the exterior of the dominating Royal Palace, and travel through the narrow, twisting alleys and cobblestone streets. You’ll also see Stortorget and the Great Square, the hub of the Old Town, dominated by the old Stock Exchange, today housing the Nobel Museum and the Swedish Academy. Rejoin your coach and continue through the city center and on to the Nordic Hotel in the heart of the city, where the world’s first permanent ice bar is located. The interior is kept at -5° Centigrade all year round. The whole interior, including glasses, is made of pure, clear ice from the Torne River in Northern Sweden. A complimentary drink in an ice glass will be served and the staff will tell you more about the bar and its construction. After tasty drinks you’ll drive to Djurgarden, a favorite getaway spot for Stockholm residents. In the Vasa Museum, you’ll see the Swedish warship ‘Vasa’, once considered the pride of Sweden’s navy. The present museum is built around the restored 17th century warship, which sank in Stockholm’s inner harbor on her maiden voyage in 1628. Its salvage in 1961, with more than 12,000 objects on board, is one of the most important events in marine archaeology. Note: You’ll spend approximately 25 minutes in the ice bar. Depending on the licensing laws, non-alcoholic drinks will be served if the bar is unable to offer vodka. Tour sequence may vary in order to avoid congestion at the venues. There are cobblestone streets in the Old Town. You’ll have some free time for lunch on your own in the Old Town or City Centre. less

Leaving the pier, you’ll drive to Trogir which is situated on a small island and squeezed in between the mainland and the larger island of Ciovo. Except for the green parks the entire island is occupied by spectacular constructions of stone-houses, palaces, churches, monasteries, towers, walls etc. You’ll visit the main attraction in Trogir - the Cathedral of St. Lawrence which is probably the finest example of Sacral architecture in Croatia. The unusual construction with three naves and three semi circular apses dominates the whole town. The main portal is world-famous and was carved by the local artist Radovan in the 13th century. Other fine buildings that will be viewed are the Town Loggia, the Town Hall and the Cipiko Palace. The entire town is like an open-air museum so just strolling through narrow streets will be an unforgettable experience. Continue on to acquaint yourself with a typical Dalmatian village, its inhabitants and traditions. You’ll drive inland to the Primosten area to the small picturesque village of Burni. On the way you’ll pass interesting landscapes and see the impressive transformations of this rocky terrain into an oasis of fertile, hospitable living. After visiting village homes (some of which are several hundred years old) enjoy a refreshing rest in the shade of surrounding trees, while your hosts in national costume serve local specialties and homemade wine. You’ll be entertained with local songs and music to complete your enjoyment of this genuinely unique tour. Note: During summer months expect extreme heat, crowded venues and long lines. We recommend that you dress in layers, wear comfortable shoes, a hat, sunglasses and bring bottled water. Guests must be able to walk approximately 0.65 mile over various surfaces with 30-45 steps. Space is limited but a minimum is required to operate. Time permitting; guests will have approximately 40 minutes for shopping and browsing. Tour order may vary. less
