This ultimate experience offers you a perfect opportunity to see the countryside, meet the locals and sample local products and cuisine without missing the highlights of Dubrovnik. Start with a pleasant bus ride along the Adriatic coastline. Your first stop is in the small, charming village of Orasac. This trip through time will certainly delight you once you come across the old home that greets you with the chance to taste some homemade cheese, smoked ham and wine. Not much has changed here through the ages - the mill is still driven by a horse. Enjoy a demonstration of how olive oil is made, the old fashioned way. After visiting Orasac Village you will continue towards the small town of Ston which is the "oyster capital" of Croatia. This little town is often called a smaller version of Dubrovnik. Especially notable are the magnificent 5 km long walls surrounding the town. Its construction started in 1317 and finished in the 16th century and it is one of the longest defensive walls in the world. Interesting are also the ancient salt pans that were in use during the Dubrovnik Republic; salt is still produced here. When you mention Ston in Croatia, people usually think of the oysters. Oyster farms are found all around the area. In Mali Ston, board a local boat where your host will welcome you on board and introduce you to oyster & mussel beds, their production, and you’ll even have the opportunity to taste fresh mussels and oysters. After this very unique experience step back ashore to enjoy sea food specialties served in a charming local tavern. After, return to Dubrovnik, where your guide will show you the highlights of the Old Town, followed by free time for further independent exploration. Note: This tour is not suitable for passengers who have difficulties walking, getting in and out of the boat or negotiating steps. Travel into the Sierra Madre Mountains towards Argovia Plantation and Estate for your authentic temazcal experience. Upon arrival, you’ll be given a complimentary drink and educational information about the history of the Temazcal and its importance in ancient cultures. A safety briefing will be provided before your sweat bath. After your Temazcal experience, you’ll be applied a clay facial mask, which you will rinse off short after. Lastly, refresh yourself with a snack, taste some coffee or shop at the local stores before returning to your ship. Note: Participants must be at least 12 years of age. Guest should wear a hat and comfortable shoes. There will be some time to change clothes, if needed, prior to and following the bath. Most areas are not wheelchair accessible. Driving for approximately 30 minutes from the port through the lush and verdant Corfiot countryside will bring you to a leading resort at Dassia village. Lying on the east coast of the island, you’ll have approximately four hours to sit back and enjoy the beautiful setting with its beach and crystal-clear waters. Swim in the Ionian Sea and pay homage to the sun and sea gods who have showered their blessings upon this mythical isle. A beach bed and umbrella (one umbrella per two beds), and soft drink or coffee from the hotel are included. Further refreshments may be purchased from the canteens and beach bars on hand. For the more adventurous, watersports are available on the beach at an additional charge. Note: Please remember to wear your swimsuit, bring a towel and sun protection. Upon arrival at Tarquinia Porta Clementina, you’ll collect your bicycles and meet the group leader. Then, proceed through the Medieval historic center of Tarquinia passing by some of the most important monuments in this historic village. Visit the main palazzo and the National Etruscan Museum. Continue towards Santa Maria in Castello until you arrive at the typical farmhouse for a wine tasting session. From here, you’ll return to your ship by coach. This is an ideal option for those who don’t want to miss going to Florence, but have difficulty with the extensive amount of walking involved in all other tours that visit the legendary city. Before entering Florence, you’ll stop at a leather factory where you’ll see artisans at work as well as have the opportunity to do some shopping. Proceed to Michelangelo Square for a magnificent view of the city and a great photo opportunity. You’ll then go on a panoramic ride along the hills of Florence and along the Arno River. Your coach will leave you near St. Croce Square with its many shops, restaurants and cafes. Ponte Vecchio and Signoria square are only a few minutes walk away. You’ll have approximately 1 1/2 hours of free time to browse, shop or simply wander the streets of Florence. At a designated time, you’ll meet your escort for the ride back to Livorno.
