Drive to Sanary sur Mer, a lovely 16th century port in the heart of Provence. This village of light and contrast will welcome you with its colorful façades, shaded walkways, vineyards and hundred year old olive trees. The waterfront is lined with fishing and recreational boats of all sizes and colors. The "Roman" tower, still guarding the fishing port dates from the 13th and 14th centuries and was used for the defense of the region. Climb to the top during your free time for a fantastic panoramic view of this charming village.
The 16th century church bell of Notre Dame de Pitie was rung by the resident hermit to warn of enemy ships on the horizon. The small Frederic Dumas diving museum is another little gem you can explore; it houses historic diving equipment and other unique objects. Enjoy some free time to relax while having a refreshing drink in one of the inviting cafés, or stroll in the village at your own leisure.

Begin your tour by passing the Fortress of Bergenhus with the coronation hall - King Haakon's Hall. Also drive by the Fish Market, Bryggen and Gablehouses. Enjoy the green slope sights of the city and its characteristic mountains. Pass by the Grieghall, the concert hall of Bergen, as well as the suburbs with old well kept houses and gardens. Visit the Fantoft Stave Church, rebuilt after a fire in 1992. This church has been re-constructed using pinewood from the Sognefjord area, similar to the ones built in the Middle Ages. The building has an oriental look with dragonheads and serpents on the roofs to frighten away the evil spirits. Upon returning to the central areas via different route, head out to the peninsula of Nordnes which divides the harbour of Bergen in two sections. Lastly, before returning to your ship, there will be a guided walk through Bryggen, the Hanseatic Quarter, currently featured on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The State Hermitage is a museum of art and culture, one of the largest and oldest in the world. It was founded by Catherine the Great in 1764. Its collections, of which only a small part is on the permanent display, comprise nearly three million items. Today the Hermitage museum encompasses buildings on the Palace Embankment and its neighborhoods. The Hermitage Museum occupies the Winter Palace – the winter residence of the Russian Tsars, and four more buildings: the Little Hermitage – Catherine’s original collection – the Old Hermitage; the Hermitage Theater – Catherine’s private theater – and the New Hermitage. Catherine started her art collection in 1764 by purchasing paintings. Her collection consisted of Rembrandt, Rubens, Titian, Antoine van Dyck, Rafael and others.
In her lifetime Catherine's acquired paintings from old masters, books, engraved gems, drawings, coins and medals and a natural history collection. Later Russian emperors continued to expand the collection and in 1852 the Hermitage was opened to the public. Immediately after the Revolution of 1917 the Imperial Hermitage and the Winter Palace were proclaimed state museums. The range of the Hermitage exhibits was further expanded when private art collections from several palaces of the Russian Tsars and numerous private mansions were being nationalized.
