A visit to Fez will transport you back to ancient times as you walk through the narrow alleyways of this mystical city; the soul of Morocco. This journey will be well worth the long, over three hour drive. A brief orientation drive through Rabat on your way to Fez will acquaint you with the capital city. Once in Fez, you’ll visit the Dar Batha Museum, displaying a rich collection of hand crafted pottery that traces Morocco’s cultural history, in addition to other important collections. The most beautiful of all Moroccan ceramic objects were made by Fez craftsmen.
You’ll have a great photo opportunity in front of the Royal Palace, a great example of Arab-Islamic architecture. See the Al Quaraouiyine University, the first university in Morocco, and the second in the Arab and Islamic world. Near the main gate of the city is the former Jewish quarter. During your walk through the Babr’ssif section, stop at a wool dyeing factory. You'll also stop at a tannery where they process leather for slippers, jackets, wallets and other leather goods. Visit the beautiful Attarine School, founded in the 14th century. The carved stucco and glazed tile revetment evoke the Nasrid palace of the Alhambra in Spain. Another great photo opportunity is the 14th-century fountain in the Nejjarine area. You’ll enjoy lunch at a typical Moroccan restaurant.
Note: This tour is not recommended for guests with walking disabilities as there is extensive walking in crowded areas, narrow alleyways and uneven or steep terrain and steps. Roadside bathroom facilities can be very basic. We suggest you bring moist towelettes or tissue paper with you. The drive to/from Fez is approximately 3 1/2 hours each way with only one comfort stop. less

This perfect combination offers you a comprehensive understanding of what the south of this beautiful island has to offer. Stroll through the “Museum Village” of San Sperate, one of the most important agricultural centers of the island. The village was transformed into an outdoor museum when a local sculptor and muralist had the idea to paint the village walls white and invited several artists to paint their work on them. As you walk, admire the murals and sculptures that embellish this village and reach the studio and garden of the world famous sculptor Pinuccio Sciola. He had the idea for the Murales at San Sperate, but is better known for the sound stones that make music when brushed. They are unique artistic creations that function not only as art, but also as musical instruments.
Visit Barumini, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1997. During the Bronze Age, a special type of defensive structure known as nuraghi (for which no parallel exists anywhere in the world) developed on the island of Sardinia. The complex at Barumini is the finest and most complete example of this remarkable form of prehistoric architecture. Enjoy a typical lunch which will acquaint you with the flavors of the island. An orientation drive through Cagliari, with photo stops and free time, completes your experience.
Note: Tour involves approximately 1 1/4 miles/2 kilometers of walking on cobblestone and paved terrain in San Sperate and 1/2 mile/800 meters of rough terrain in Barumini. Comfortable walking shoes are suggested. Guests suffering from claustrophobia are not recommended to take this tour. less

In the shadow of the mighty Sierra Nevada lays Granada, a peculiar blend of Arab and European culture with a wealth of extraordinary monuments. Take in the views, as you travel north over the Malaga mountains and through the picturesque countryside. Visit the Alhambra, palace of the sultans and one of the finest examples of Moorish art in Spain. Six centuries of Moorish rule left an indelible mark on Spanish culture and architecture, especially in the south in Andalusia, where this palatial complex is one of the world’s great architectural wonders. The Alhambra has been damaged and restored over the centuries, but it’s not difficult to picture the place as it was, in all its glory 600 years ago. From floor to ceiling, every inch seems to be covered with some kind of pattern: geometric, floral or Arabic script. The ceilings drip with stucco stalactites and each room seems more richly decorated than the previous one, walls of wood filigree frame courtyards and fountains. Rose-colored walls stand in sharp contrast to the turquoise and black Pool of Myrtles and the garden is scented with jasmine and rose. Continue to the small summer palace along an avenue of stately cypress trees and venture into the Generalife Gardens, with trimmed flowerbeds and box hedges, myrtle bushes and above all, fountains. The view from the gardens is splendid. Enjoy a panoramic tour of the city making a photo stop at the Albaycin district. You’ll have free time to explore or to have lunch on your own. Note: This tour includes approximately 2 miles (3 km) of walking on flat and uneven terrain with some steps. The Alhambra is not wheelchair accessible. This tour is not suitable for guests with walking difficulties. less

After your tender drops you off at the port of Athinios, you’ll drive to Pyrgos village, one of the oldest settlements and the highest village on the island. Admire the beautiful old houses and the Venetian fortress crowned by several churches. From Pyrgos Square the road runs uphill to the Monastery of the Prophet Elijah, the highest point of the island. From here, the views out over the caldera are majestic. Leaving Pyrgos you head to the northern end of Santorini to the village of Oia, which offers magnificent views of the caldera and the rest of the other islands. With its cobblestone streets, beautiful old mansions and houses perched on the cliffside, you’ll realize why the traditional Cycladic architecture is so well known. Here you’ll have free time to stroll around the narrow streets with the old beautiful houses and the tiny picturesque shops. Then, leaving the village of Oia, make your way to one of Santorini’s most renowned Greek tavernas where you’ll enjoy dinner, music and dances. Experience a typical Greek fiesta dancing to 'Zorba the Greek' and breaking plates while the bouzouki plays its solo. After a buffet-style dinner, you’ll continue to Fira town, the picturesque capital of the island built on the rim of the caldera wall. Enjoy the town at leisure before returning to your ship. Note: Tour participation is limited. Tour involves walking for approximately ½ mile on level, some steps and cobblestone streets. Amount of walking and exertion during free time is up to you. Not recommended for guests on wheelchairs. Temperatures can reach extreme highs during summer months; we recommend that you drink a lot of water and use suitable sun protection. Most tours end in Fira where you’ll board a cable car to return to the pier (cable car ticket will be provided). Lines for the cable car are very long, especially during summer months or when there are several ships in port; please allow sufficient time to return to the tender landing pier. less

Here you’ll have time to wander at Corso Umberto, featuring lots of narrow streets lined with shops. Leaving Taormina to Mt. Etna, the scenic road winds around the mountain, passing picturesque towns.
