Begin your tour by sightseeing boat and pass by Suomenlinna, a series of small interconnected islands near Helsinki that are popular with area residents because of their museums, parks and gardens. In 1748, a fortress was built on the islands and was dubbed the ‘Gibraltar of the North’. As your guide describes Helsinki's unique relationship to the sea, continue past waterfront houses and old villas in this unique urban archipelago. Also pass by several other points of interest, including the icebreaker fleet docked for the summer season, and Helsinki Zoo. The zoo is one of the most northernmost zoos in the world. Disembark the boat and enjoy a short visit to Kauppatori (Market Square), where you can shop for local handicrafts, perhaps sample luscious Finnish berries or just enjoy the friendly atmosphere. In warm weather, the square is a popular spot with both locals and tourists. Rejoin your sightseeing coach for a leisurely panoramic tour of some of the main highlights the city has to offer. Pass the Presidential Palace and Uspenski Cathedral, make a photo stop in Senate Square, and then continue on to Mannerheim Street with the Parliament House, National Museum and Finlandia Hall. The Olympic Stadium and new Opera House will also be seen before arriving at Sibelius Park for a final photo opportunity of the monument of over 600 steel pipes which honor the great Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. Note: Order of sights may vary. The panoramic tour section does not include any visits to venues. If the Market Square is closed, an alternative shopping venue will be used. Start your tour of the beautiful city of Cartagena with a photo stop at San Felipe de Barajas Fortress, situated outside the walled city and considered the largest Spanish fort in the New World. Continue to the Old City and wander through narrow cobblestone streets and squares while you admire the Colonial architecture, balconies and old churches. Your next stop will be the Gold Museum where you'll see beautiful displays of valuable pre-Colombian gold artifacts and some of the old ceramics in the Americas. You'll also learn about the Zenu nation’s amazing hydraulic engineering achievements. Enjoy a folkloric show during your visit to the Navy Museum which was established in 1986. Here, you’ll find historic military efforts of Cartagena, see the wealth of historical artifacts, maritime life and naval history of Colombia. A bottle of water or soft drink will be served upon arrival at the museum. Before returning to your ship, take home some souvenirs from Pierino Gallo shopping center and enjoy panoramic sightseeing through Bocagrande, the modern part of the city. Visit two sites of great religious significance and pilgrimage, the house where the Virgin Mary purportedly spent the last days of her life, and the remains of the Basilica of St. John, built on the site where the apostle is believed to have been buried. It is said that John wrote his gospel while living in Ephesus. During the 4th century, a church was built on the site of his grave, but during the 6th century, the Emperor Justinian replaced it with a church of magnificent proportions, with the central dome right above the tomb. Thousands of faithful pilgrims visited the sacred site throughout the middle ages. It is also said that the apostle John brought the Virgin Mary to Ephesus after leaving Jerusalem. She first lived in a house in the city of Ephesus, until the house on Bulbul Mountain was built. This place of pilgrimage is visited by hundreds of tourists and pilgrims every day and it remains a holy place for Christians and Muslims alike. You’ll stop at a leather outlet for refreshments and a shopping opportunity before returning to your ship in Izmir. Note: Expect crowded venues and extreme heat, especially during summer months. There is approximately 1 3/4 miles of walking over uneven surfaces, numerous steps and some inclines on this tour. less

Board your coach for an approximate 30 minute transfer to Kourouta Beach. This is a public beach area where you’ll have free time (approximately 3.5 hours) to relax under the sun and swim. Sun beds and umbrellas are available for rent at the beach on a first-come, first served-basis. There is a beach taverna nearby for refreshments or a light snack at your own expense. Credit cards and foreign currencies are not accepted. You’ll need Euros for purchases at the beach.
Note: Please remember to wear your swimsuit and take a towel and sunscreen. Please note that this beach is a family beach and nude sunbathing is not permitted. Swimming is at the guest's own risk as there is no life guard on duty. Please note that this is not a shuttle service. If you should miss the scheduled departure from the beach, it will be your responsibility at your own expense to return to your ship. Additional activities are available at the beach for an extra cost paid directly to local concessionaires and are not part of the tour package. The drive to/from the pier is approximately 30 minutes each way, dependent upon traffic conditions. This tour will only operate from June through August. less

Your walk will start at Victoria Pier in the heart of Lerwick, opposite the Market Cross. A leisurely stroll takes in the award winning, recently restored Tolbooth. This is now the headquarters of Lerwick's lifeboat station. You’ll see the unique "lodberries", once used by the town merchants for the landing and storage of goods. Climbing uphill you’ll observe a traditional method of recycling in the Shetlands, where an upturned former ferry is now the roof of a garage. You’ll pass various churches on the way to the steep, narrow, intricate web of lanes to the Town Hall, built in 1882. On the first floor, you’ll find the Shetlands' history depicted in pictorial narrative through stained glass windows. Proceed to Fort Charlotte, named after Queen Charlotte, wife of George III. The fort never saw action, but it housed a garrison throughout the Napoleonic Wars; it was later a base for the Royal Naval Reserve. It also served as the town jail and courthouse from 1837-75, and later a customs house and a coastguard station. At the end of your walking tour you may wish to stay in town to explore Lerwick's variety of small independent shops, browsing for local crafts and knitwear. less

Discover some of the most scenic parts of Mallorca and the lovely village of Valldemossa during this picturesque ride on the Soller Railway. Depart the pier for the approximately 50-minute sightseeing drive through Palma, and on to the Son Reus Train Station. Upon arrival, board the historic Soller train. The Soller Railway has been running a daily train service along the 17-mile (27-kilometre) route between Palma de Mallorca and Soller, without interruption, since 1912. Your scenic, 45-minute journey is an enchanting voyage highlighted by beautiful panoramic views of the Mallorcan Mountains, orange groves and small, fairytale-like villages. Pass through 13 tunnels and numerous bridges before arriving at Soller. After some free time in the beautiful village of Soller, board a coach for the drive to Son Marroig. This stunning estate is renowned for its picturesque setting on the slopes of Mallorca’s northern mountain range. You’ll make a photo stop at a lookout which offers spectacular views of the coastline and ‘Foradada’, a locally-renowned rock formation rising from the sea. Leaving Son Marroig, your drive continues on through the rugged northern interior of the island en route to Valldemossa, where a visit is made to the Carthusian Monastery. This 17th-century monastery, also known as ‘Cartuja’, is famous for its beautiful cloisters and gardens. More importantly, it housed two illustrious guests, composer Frédéric Chopin and novelist George Sand, during the winter of 1838-39. A guided tour of the monastery includes the cloisters, the 18th-century pharmacy, the former monks’ cells and the rooms once occupied by the famous couple. Following your visit, some time is made available for browsing the many shoppes at your leisure before re-boarding the coach for the approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier. Note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking on uneven pathways, with some steps to negotiate at Soller Station and approximately 1/2 mile of walking. The train is not air-conditioned or wheelchair-accessible, and has wooden seats. The train journey is not exclusive to NCL guests. less

From Cannes, you’ll drive to Monaco, where after leaving your coach, you'll be carried to the top of the rock by escalators and elevators. On the upper level, enjoy a guided walking tour passing by the Oceanographic Museum, the cathedral, and view the exterior of the Prince's palace. After a short period of free time, you’ll reboard your coach and reach Monte Carlo Square where you’ll enjoy some additional leisure time to take in the attractions of your choice around the Place du Casino. You may wish to stroll across the street to admire the Hotel de Paris, do a little window shopping around the corner, or even try your luck at the Casino de Monte Carlo or the Cafe de Paris Casino. Note: Casino de Monte Carlo opens its Salles Americaines (free admission) at noon, with slot machines only. Salles Publiques (entrance fee of 10 Euros in cash) is open at 12:00 noon for Roulette, 2:00 p.m. for slot machines. Visitors must be at least 18 years of age, show passport and driver’s license. Formal dress is not required to enter most of the casino, but smart dress is strongly encouraged; no shorts or flip-flops are allowed. Barcelona’s favorable location, in perfect harmony with its immediate surroundings, together with its ease of access and varied climate, make it a starting point for discovering new landscapes and enjoying contact with nature. Your tour departs from the port passing through the main streets of Barcelona, to reach Catalunya Square, considered the heart of the city. From here, you’ll continue the panoramic drive along Passeig de Gracia, the best-known boulevard in town. Your guide will point out two of the masterpieces of Gaudi’s architecture: the Casa Mila and Casa Batllo; two of the best-known landmarks of the city. Reaching Diagonal Avenue your tour continues to Montserrat, a peculiar rocky mountain range which is the site of the monastery where people come to worship 'La Moreneta,' the black Madonna who is the patron-virgin of Catalonia. The Benedictine Monastery of Montserrat was founded in the 11th century and is located in a natural park 37 miles to the west of Barcelona. The Benedictine community, now numbering some 80 monks, has served the shrine for almost a thousand years. They are dedicated to a life of prayer, to working, and to welcoming pilgrims, making the site a place for dialogue, prayer and culture. Besides the monks, the Escolans also live in Montserrat who form the oldest boy’s choir in Europe. During your stay and visit to Montserrat, you’ll visit the sanctuary and have free time to take-in the activity of your choice. Spend extra time at the sanctuary, explore some more, take pictures, shop for that last minute souvenir, have lunch or grab a coffee at one of the restaurants and cafeterias on location. Once you finish the visit you’ll be driven to a Norwegian Cruise Line program hotel, Mont Blanc, Catalunya Square, or the airport. Leaving the ship take a drive by coach over the new panoramic road to a viewpoint from where you can see the magnificent view of Dubrovnik and its Riviera. After the panoramic stop, you’ll drive toward the picturesque seaside resort town of Cavtat, which was the Ancient Roman City of Epidaurus. Over the years Cavtat has been a favorite destination for sailors and yacht enthusiasts, in fact Edward VIII and Wallace Simpson came here during their honeymoons. In Cavtat you’ll have opportunity for a pleasant walk along the sea front promenade or have a coffee in one of many cafes located along the coast. From Cavtat, you’ll drive along the eastern coast of the Dubrovnik Riviera toward Komaji Village to visit a winery. Upon arrival, proceed to the Crvik family vineyards. The owner of the winery will greet you on arrival and give you a presentation about his wines and will show you the production process. He’ll even invite you to participate in a tasting of his vintage wines. Following the tasting, you’ll re-board your coach and depart for Dubrovnik. Founded in the mid-7th century by Greek refugees from Epidaurus, Dubrovnik became the most important city-state on the Adriatic. The Old Town is unique for its marble-paved squares, cobbled streets, tall houses, churches, palaces, fountains, and museums, all built from the same light-colored stone. Along the way, you’ll visit the Dominican Monastery, inside where you’ll discover the finest collection of Renaissance paintings in Dubrovnik. Among the many works by local and Italian masters is a painting by Tizian. After the walking tour, you’ll have some free time to explore on your own. Today, Dubrovnik is as beautiful as ever, waiting to be explored and enchant visitors as it has done for centuries. Note: This tour is not suitable for passengers who have difficulties walking due to the inclines and cobblestone streets. Visit the archaeological site of Olympia. The site was a sanctuary even before the stadium was built and the games took place in 776 B.C. Today, only parts of the temple remain at the museum and only ruins remain at the site. The Temple of Zeus no longer exists and its traces have disappeared through the ages. The Temple of Hera, Prytaneion, and Philippeion were monuments standing in the sacred grove. The famous Stadium, with a capacity of 45,000 spectators, is entered through a long, tunnel-like passage. Stand at the starting line and imagine the voices of thousands of spectators seating on the stone bleachers. Continue with a drive through picturesque countryside to a local family-owned wine estate where you’ll be welcomed by the owners, the Kanellakopoulos family. Start you tour from the winery, with a mix of old and new equipment, the cellar and the very old olive press. Afterward, visit the traditional family museum with a collection of various old agricultural tools and equipment, interwoven with the estate cultivation throughout the years. You’ll have the opportunity to taste the local wines and snacks offered by the owners. less

Following a short transfer by tender boat from your ship to the port of Athinios, you'll board the awaiting motorcoach that will transfer you to Perivolos Beach, located on the southern side of the island. On arrival at the beach, you'll have the opportunity to swim in the crystal waters of the Aegean Sea, relax under the always shining Greek sun or even entertain yourself with the variety of watersports (not included) available on the beach by local concessionaires. After a day of relaxation your coach returns you to the capital of the island, Fira where you’ll have free time to stroll through the city and admire the beautiful views of the caldera before taking the cable car down to the port to return by tender to your ship.
Note: Please remember to wear your swimsuit, bring a towel and sun protection. This tour will only operate from June through August. Temperatures can reach extreme highs during summer months; we recommend that you drink a lot of water, use suitable sun protection and dress in layers. Guests who are planning to visit religious sites during free time or on tour, please dress appropriately; no bare shoulders or shorts are allowed. less

Despite its small size, Slovenia is quite varied in terms of landscape. Between the Alps and the sea, you’ll find the broad belt of the Slovenian Karst, which is part of the great Dinaric mountain range. This is a mainly limestone area notable for a special karstic phenomena, both visible in its topography and underground. Take an approximately one hour drive from Koper to the Karst region which hides a unique underworld beneath this beautiful landscape. This is a unique opportunity to explore the subterranean filled with natural surprises. An electric train will take you to Postojna Cave for a 1 1 /2 hour visit. Well-kept paths comprise the greater part of the cave so it does not present any difficulties for most visitors.
Your trail begins at the cave’s railway station and will take you to the first natural passage, known as the “Upturned Ship”. Visit Gothic Hall rich in stalactite decoration, where the remains of Ice Age animals have been found and the Conference Hall, previously known as the Ballroom, has been the venue for dances and concerts for 180 years. While you admire these natural sculptures, the train takes you to Great Mountain where the tour of the caves continues on foot in groups led by guides. The trail takes you past characteristic cave formations to the Russian Bridge and the Beautiful Caves, then into the White Hall, the Red Hall, the Tiger Hall and the Winter Hall, all the way to the Brilliant Passage, the most famous stalagmite of all and the symbol of Postojna Cave. At the Predjama Castle photo stop, a former hideout for the brazen knight named Erazem of Predjama, evidence indicates that this steep and imposing cliff has been fortified since at least the 13th century. Reboard your train by the Conference Hall to return to the surface and to your waiting ship in Koper.
Note: We recommend that you wear good walking shoes and bring a jacket as the caves keep a temperature of about 10 degrees Celsius or 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Guests must be able to walk over various surfaces with approximately 80 steps. less
