Take an exclusive journey through the history of Kilohana, the Manor House, train and Kalamaku show. This specially created evening begins with a ride on the Kauai Plantation Railway. This is an authentic narrow-gauge railroad that conducts tours of working tropical agriculture crops within the Kilohana estate and on surrounding lands. Powered by a diesel-engine locomotive, passengers ride in four restored King Kalakaua-style wooden cars. Your next stop will be at 22 North, a perfectly restored manor house at Kilohana which was the most expensive and beautiful home ever built on Kauai. You’ll delight in a unique meal featuring Kauai-grown meats, fish and produce, including fruits and vegetables from Kilohana Plantation’s 60-acre orchard and agricultural park. The manor house has been designated as a state historic landmark and has been restored to its vintage 1930 style. After dinner, you’ll be escorted to the Kalamaku show and your preferred performance seating. This is the story of a family journey across the vast blue waters of the Pacific with the spirit of the ocean as their guide. Our narrator recounts this epic tale through old Hawaiian chants and song while the dancers keep their rhythms against the strong beat of the drums. Her graceful design and generous fairways offer a pleasing repast for 'weekend' golfers, but elevation changes and strategically placed hazards have tested some of the best professional players. Like Wailea's other courses, ocean vistas are to be found at every hole. In fact, years back when the LPGA Women's Kemper Open was played here, tournament officials had to admonish some of the competitors for slow play. Imagine soaring over Kilauea Volcano on a thrilling helicopter tour, driving to a remote location for a BBQ lunch overlooking a private waterfall, and enjoying a return drive that visits scenic waterfalls and tropical rainforests. You’ll start by boarding your comfortable, air-conditioned aircraft and heading out towards the active volcano. Lush tropical rainforests give way to stark black lava that flows as you approach the volcano. Look for surface flows and lava entering the ocean as your pilot safely navigates the helicopter over the volcanic landscape. Then, you’ll circle back and head north past Hilo. Fly over prime rainforests, laced with waterfalls. This ultimate off-road experience takes you into the lush tropical paradise and beautiful mountains of Kauai on a fully automatic ATV. After departing the pier, take a scenic drive to the mudbug check-in location. Upon arrival, you'll be provided with outerwear including boots, socks, pants, shirts, goggles, a helmet and your mudbug. Then, it's time to get dirty! The course takes you through back roads, cane fields, over hills and through streams that wind through the thick vegetation. If the weather permits, you can even swim in the natural pools. Note: Participants must be at least 5 years of age, but at least 16 years of age to drive the mudbug, and weigh no more than 315 lbs. If you have any back problems, existing heart conditions or are pregnant, this tour is not for you. Participants must also wear closed-toe water friendly shoes, long pants, a swimsuit and bring a towel. Snacks will be included. Discover Scuba is easy, fun and exciting. Join your PADI Scuba instructors for a 30-minute lesson about the basics of Scuba in order to familiarize yourself with this new environment. This is followed by a session in a shallow water lagoon to practice the skills you just learned and to become more comfortable with your equipment prior to paddling to the shoreline reef. The dive proceeds at the participants' pace and your instructor is with you throughout the whole experience. This is a very safe and easy introduction to diving and Hawaii's underwater world. Swim past colorful reef fish, turtles and beautiful corals. Don't miss this opportunity to discover the spectacular underwater world. Note: Participants must be at least 10 years of age.
