Your tour begins with a scenic short drive to Wailuku River State Park and Rainbow Falls. The 80-foot falls cascade into a circular pool at the base of the Wailuku River. Your adventure continues to the Akatsuka Orchid Gardens where you’ll visit one of the largest orchid collections on display in Hawaii. You’ll have a chance to purchase seedling souvenirs that have already been agriculturally inspected so you can take a little bit of Hawaii home with you. Then, take an approximately 60-minute drive to Volcanoes National Park, where 70 million years of volcanic history are on display. Here, you can admire the remarkable view of Kilauea Volcano, the earth's most active volcano. Trace the birth of the Hawaiian Islands when you visit the Jaggar Museum, where you'll view Halema`uma`u Fire Pit. You'll also have the opportunity to walk through the Thurston Lava Tube before a visit to Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory. Note: Please be advised that while at Volcanoes National Park, you may encounter natural sulfur gases which can affect those with respiratory problems and you won't see molten lava. Thurston Lava Tube is not wheelchair accessible due to uneven pathways and steps. An additional optional shopping stop may be provided. Celebrate the honor, valor and courage of the World War II US servicemen on this special tour. This nostalgic journey takes you to the two places that marked the beginning and the end of the war for the United States - Pearl Harbor and the USS Missouri. At the site of Pearl Harbor, visit the Arizona Memorial where the remains of the USS Arizona lie silent beneath the waves. The 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor will unfold in detailed narrations and photos. From here you'll travel across the Ford Island Bridge to the historic USS Missouri battleship, nicknamed the 'Mighty Mo.' Explore the passages, rooms and corridors on a self-guided tour. Note: This tour is only available for guests with flights after 6:00 pm. Guests are responsible for ensuring their debarkation tours are compatible with their flight departure times. This tour does not necessarily drop off at all NCL program hotels, please check with the shore excursions staff onboard as to which hotel drop-offs are available. Guests have the option to book their flights through our Premium Air Department to ensure that flight departure times do not interfere with debark tours. This award-winning, fast-paced adventure tour is the only one that takes you to beautiful Kealakekua Bay, the only marine sanctuary on the Big Island of Hawai'i and site of the Captain Cook Monument. A 24-foot Zodiac raft provides an exciting shore-hugging ride along the Kona coast. Keep your eyes open for spinner dolphins, pilot whales, sea turtles, manta rays, and humpback whales which frequent these waters from December-April. Upon arrival at Kealakekua Bay, you can swim and snorkel in protected waters. On the return ride, you'll explore sea caves, lava tubes and learn more about the geology of the island. Note: Participants must be at least 4 years of age and weigh no more than 320 lbs. Wear a swimsuit and bring a towel.
