Take an exclusive journey through the history of Kilohana, the Manor House, train and Kalamaku show. This specially created evening begins with a ride on the Kauai Plantation Railway. This is an authentic narrow-gauge railroad that conducts tours of working tropical agriculture crops within the Kilohana estate and on surrounding lands. Powered by a diesel-engine locomotive, passengers ride in four restored King Kalakaua-style wooden cars. Your next stop will be at 22 North, a perfectly restored manor house at Kilohana which was the most expensive and beautiful home ever built on Kauai. You’ll delight in a unique meal featuring Kauai-grown meats, fish and produce, including fruits and vegetables from Kilohana Plantation’s 60-acre orchard and agricultural park. The manor house has been designated as a state historic landmark and has been restored to its vintage 1930 style. After dinner, you’ll be escorted to the Kalamaku show and your preferred performance seating. This is the story of a family journey across the vast blue waters of the Pacific with the spirit of the ocean as their guide. Our narrator recounts this epic tale through old Hawaiian chants and song while the dancers keep their rhythms against the strong beat of the drums. The story climaxes with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing. Note: Beverages at 22 North are available for purchase. This unique tubing adventure takes you back in time to private lands never before open to the public. Your adventure starts with a short drive to the headwaters of the four-mile-long Hanamaulu Ditch system where you'll begin your two-mile tubing journey. Grab a tube and jump in for a leisurely tubing expedition. Witness Kauai's spectacular flora as you float down the tropical waterway of open ditches and tunnels, all of which were engineered and hand dug in 1870. At the end of your adventure, you'll enjoy delicious snacks beside a pristine swimming hole. Note: Participants must be at least 5 years of age, weigh no more than 300 lbs. and be at least 43 inches in height. Take a fun downwind kayak trip through the beautiful Huleia National Wildlife Refuge in a comfy, stable, sit-on-top double kayak. Hear the incredible legend of the Menehune Fishpond from a knowledgeable guide as you paddle past it. Take a one-mile guided nature walk through the rainforest and learn about the unique plant and animal life of the area, and how the ancient Hawaiians lived in harmony with nature. See actual film locations from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" then take a leap off a rope swing for a refreshing dip in a cool mountain pool, just like Indiana Jones himself! Snacks and cold drinks at a fern-surrounded waterfall, and a return trip on a super-cool, twin-hulled, powered Hawaiian canoe round out this adventure. Enjoy a two-tank guided dive on the new custom-built dive vessel, Diversity. The PADI Scuba instructor or dive master will outfit you with your gear and give you an orientation. The whole dive proceeds at the participants' pace and your instructor is with you throughout the whole experience. There are 60 possible dive sites to choose from in Kona, which the boat Captain will choose from depending on weather and sea conditions. Swim through lava tubes and watch for turtles, manta rays and even dolphins. Marvel at the incredible array of colorful fish and bountiful coral that are found here.
