Mexican Riviera Cruises: Excursions

Your tour begins as you board your motorcoach which will transport you to the Golden Zone. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by your guides who will help you warm up for your adventure with a short walk to the beach where your kayak awaits. At the beach you’ll be outfitted with lifejackets and paddles and given a briefing over the safe operation of the kayaks, which are of the ‘sit-on-top’ variety. Then it’s off on your guided ocean kayak adventure for approximately one hour, during which you’ll circle the secluded Kaktus Island located just offshore. The completion of the kayak portion of your tour brings you to a beachfront restaurant where fresh fruit, Mexican pastries, bottled water and soft drinks will be waiting for you. After taking time to relax a bit, you may participate in the optional hiking portion of the tour which is approximately 45 minutes (1 mile) and takes you to a location offering a beautiful view. If you decide not to take part in the hiking portion of the tour, you may remain at the restaurant to swim, sunbathe or just simply relax. Note: Participants must be at least 7 years of age and weigh no more than 250 lbs. Bring a towel, sunscreen, a hat and wear your swimsuit under your clothes if you plan to swim. This private canopy reserve is set high in the remote, verdant wilderness of the Sierra Madre. Feel the adrenaline rush as you whoosh from platform to platform, 90 feet above the rainforest floor. A series of thrilling zip lines gives you maximum opportunity to marvel at the beautiful, lush setting as you effortlessly traverse above huge tropical trees, wild orchids and native birds and reptiles. Hanging bridges built into treetops are reminiscent of Tarzan and there is even a gorilla swing for you to try. Two incredible rappel descents to solid ground completes your breathtaking adventure. As safety is top priority, guides have been extensively trained and equipment is the best, with not one, but two safety ropes for your security. This is the most exciting way to explore the depths of the tropical rainforest, for thrill-seekers and nature lovers alike! Note: Participants must be at least 8 years of age, weigh no more than 250 lbs. at least 4 feet tall and in good physical condition. Cameras cannot be taken on the tour for safety reasons but a professional photographer will accompany the group. There will be some time for pictures and souvenirs. less

The Marietas Islands have been classified as a National Wildlife Preserve due to the numerous species of birds, marine mammals and fish that live here. This tour will let you experience the ecological sights and sounds of this natural environment. From the pier, an eco-guide will escort you to your state-of-the-art catamaran where you’ll meet your crew and receive a brief orientation. Leaving the dock, begin the 1-1/2-hour trip across Banderas Bay to the Marietas Islands. En route, get acquainted with the area through interesting and historical commentary. Keep an eye out for wild dolphins and sea turtles, which thrive in these waters. During the winter months (December to March) humpback whales are also a common sight. If encountered, your boat will pause to observe these creatures. As you approach the islands, your crew will provide you with detailed instructions on both snorkeling and kayaking. You’ll be fitted with snorkeling equipment and a review sheet, which contains information on the types of fish and animals you may encounter. After a 10-minute guided bird-watching trip around the islands by boat to familiarize you with the water conditions and to see the various species, your boat will drop anchor and you’ll have approximately 1 1/2 hours to explore the waters by kayak and/or snorkel. Enjoy a deli-style lunch and open bar aboard the catamaran on the way back as you just sit back and enjoy the entertainment provided by your enthusiastic crew. Depending on weather conditions, you’ll make a beach stop on the return back to your ship. Note: Participants must be in good health. After an approximately 80 minute scenic journey along the coastline of Los Cabos, a warm welcome awaits for you at the rustic base camp. Once suited up, take a short journey on board your original Unimog vehicle deep into the Canyon de la Zorra. Fly across open canyons and emerald green streams on double safety zip lines. Scale the rock face as you ascend specially designed climbing walls, race your friends on the tandem zip line, and prepare yourself for the ultimate adventure - a 98-foot rappel that will take you to the base of the canyon floor. Enjoy a well earned rest back at the base camp with light refreshments and a chance to view your professional photos. Return to your ship with long lasting memories of this truly unique outdoor adventure! Note: Participants must be at least 8 years of age, weigh no more than 250 lbs. and be at least 4 feet tall. Must be in good health, and be able to walk uphill for 10 minutes and climb a steep ladder. This tour is not for guests with back, neck, heart or respiratory condition, seizures, physical disabilities or pregnant women. Bottled water, snack, lockers, gear and instructions are included. Guests are not allowed to bring their cameras; there will be professional photographs taken onboard. Participants will be asked to sign safety waiver before participating in the tour. This is a PADI Learn to dive Program that offers the unique opportunity for beginners to enjoy the beauty of the underwater world in the easiest, safest and most enjoyable way. Conducted at the beach hideaway of Las Caletas by a certified PADI Scuba Instructor, you’ll learn the basics of scuba diving in just a few hours and still have time to enjoy the delights of this beautiful cove. A theory session prepares you to go into the ocean and dive in the tropical waters of Las Caletas. This one-tank dive will last approximately 30 minutes and will go to a maximum depth of 40 feet. Participants don’t receive a certification card, but the course does count towards the first part of the universally recognized PADI Open Water Course. Note: Participants must be at least 12 years of age. A buffet lunch and complimentary drinks are included after the diving activities. You’ll be required to complete medical history form. Anyone with any medical condition will require doctor's consent note. Equipment is provided. You’ll not receive a certification card but the course does count towards the first part of the universally recognized PADI Open Water course. less
