It’s a jungle out there - and we’ll guide you through it. Drive along the scenic coastal highway to Mismaloya, one of the most exciting jungle locations in the foothills of the mountains. This exotic tropical forest has been the set of several films, thanks to its dense vegetation and the absolute primal nature of the area. In this jungle paradise you’ll have plenty of time to explore the surroundings and take a swim in the natural pools formed by the river and guided walking tour. A Mexican lunch will be served under the palapa before you head back to town where you can either return to your ship or stay in town for some shopping before returning to your ship on your own. Note: Wear your swimsuit and bring a towel if you plan to swim. Wear comfortable shoes. less

Journey to the spectacular Chilkat Eagle Preserve home to the world's largest concentration of Bald Eagles. Explore North America's deepest fjord on your voyage to the beautiful port of Haines. Your journey continues along the National Scenic Byway through the awe-inspiring Chilkat Valley to the preserve. After a riverside picnic, you’ll board 18-foot inflatable rafts to enjoy a peaceful float (no whitewater) down the river through the very heart of the preserve. Watch for eagles, bears, moose, and even wolves, drawn here by the spawning salmon. 7,000 foot tall peaks tower above as you float past the ancient native village of Klukwan. This is an unforgettable adventure into the grandeur of Alaska!
Note: Participants must be at least 7 years of age and weigh no more than 350 lbs. Ponchos and boots are provided at the site. Guests must be in good health and able to walk over loose gravel and dry river delta to board the rafts.

Begin with a scenic drive through downtown Puerto Vallarta, to a local tile factory for an introduction to the tile manufacturing process. Witness the forming, painting and firing of the ceramic, one of the many colorful items for which Mexico is famous for. You’ll have ample time to see the displays and purchase all the ceramics you can carry. Then, continue to the downtown area for some sightseeing and shopping. A short stop will be made on your way out to visit Hacienda Dona Engracia, one of the finest tequila factories in the area. Here you’ll have an opportunity to see a working ranch, learn about the tequila manufacturing process and enjoy a delicious homemade Mexican lunch. Visitors over the age of 21 will be invited to indulge in free samples of tequila. less

This excursion gives you the best opportunity to view moose and other Alaskan wildlife in their natural setting. Although wildlife sightings are not guaranteed, they are frequent. Your tour begins with a 45 minute ferry to Haines aboard a comfortable 150 passenger catamaran. The naturalist will guide you through this adventure from the gold rush town of Skagway to the quaint community of Haines with access to miles of different channels of the Chilkat River in a specially designed, flat-bottom riverboat. Most of the 48,000 acre preserve is untouched wilderness, with towering mountains, hanging glaciers and unspoiled nature.
The boat is uncovered for better wildlife and photo opportunities but extra jackets and large waterproof, windproof lap blankets will you keep you dry and warm. Join your hosts, the Hess family at their private property with modern restroom facilities and a covered and heated lunch pavilion. Enjoy a meal of hot dogs, vegetarian chili, chicken noodle soup, chips,cookies and beverages. Afterwards you’ll have time to sit by the campfire or watch for mountain goats on the nearby mountains.
Note: Although wildlife sightings are frequent, they’re not guaranteed. Outdoor wear, hats, gloves, and blankets are provided at the site. Your lunch may be served either before or after the river portion of the tour, mealtime appropriate.

The Bay of Banderas, a fantastic place to sail, has protected waters, moderate consistent winds, nice secluded coves to break the day, and lots of sea life. Your experienced sailboat crew will greet you with fruit, sweet rolls, coffee and juice, while you are given a short safety briefing and information about the marine life you may encounter. Start your sail in the direction the wind is blowing, your itinerary will take you on the best course depending on the conditions of the day. Relax, feel the breeze and enjoy sailing! We’ll drop the anchor in the afternoon for a refreshing swim or some snorkeling. Enjoy a delicious lunch and complimentary drinks on board before we hoist the sails to return to Puerto Vallarta. Ride the rails in style, revisit the gold rush era, and experience the life of a prospector on this fun-filled family tour. In the comfort of your parlor car, a costumed escort “from 1898” will entertain you with stories of gold prospecting. The train follows the same route that thousands of prospectors trotted on foot in search of gold. Historical narration is provided by the White Pass & Yukon railroad crew as you witness the breathtaking panorama.
Transfer to a motorcoach for a short drive to the Klondike Gold Fields and be immersed in the wild history of the Klondike Gold Rush. The dredge master will acquaint you with the gold dredge, a 350 ton gold sifting machine brought back from the Klondike. Learn the art of gold panning and practice your technique in heated water. After you’ve hit pay dirt, weigh your fortune in the Gold Shack. Enjoy browsing in the Gold Parlor where you can shop for gifts and souvenirs. You can also watch a film about gold dredging or Alaska's Northern Lights. Food and drink is available for purchase at the Gold Rush Restaurant & Brewery.
Note: For your convenience, a shuttle bus runs continuously back to the ship so that you can stay as long as you like.

This is a PADI Learn to dive Program that offers the unique opportunity for beginners to enjoy the beauty of the underwater world in the easiest, safest and most enjoyable way. Conducted at the beach hideaway of Las Caletas by a certified PADI Scuba Instructor, you’ll learn the basics of scuba diving in just a few hours and still have time to enjoy the delights of this beautiful cove. A theory session prepares you to go into the ocean and dive in the tropical waters of Las Caletas. This one-tank dive will last approximately 30 minutes and will go to a maximum depth of 40 feet. Participants don’t receive a certification card, but the course does count towards the first part of the universally recognized PADI Open Water Course. Note: Participants must be at least 12 years of age. A buffet lunch and complimentary drinks are included after the diving activities. You’ll be required to complete medical history form. Anyone with any medical condition will require doctor's consent note. Equipment is provided. You’ll not receive a certification card but the course does count towards the first part of the universally recognized PADI Open Water course. less

Travel the route of the “Trail of ’98” in a four-wheel drive Jeep Wrangler®. Your small group of explorers will set out into the Yukon Territory via the same routes taken by the hardy gold prospectors in the late 1800’s. Your tour guide in the lead Jeep will entertain you with the lore of the gold rush era by interactive radio. Amazing vistas accessible only by off-road vehicle await you on this adventure. You’ll want to bring a camera to capture them.
There are several points along your route that drivers can rotate including Pitchfork Falls, Moore Bridge, Dead Horse Gulch, Bracket Wagon Trail, and Tormented Valley en route to the historic village of Carcross. Drive up Montana Mountain for a panorama view of the Carcross Desert, the smallest desert in the world!
Note: This excursion enters Canada and all participants are required to carry a valid passport. Drivers must be at least 25 years of age, provide a current driver’s license and must sign a liability/insurance waiver. Participants must be at least 5 years of age. We provide a booster seat for children 5 through 8 years upon request and subject to availability. Canadian citizens may not drive the vehicles into Canada due to current regulations. Both parents must accompany minors across border or a signed letter granting permission from non-participating parent may need to be presented to Customs and Border Protection. The tour is approximately three hours with approximately one hour of off-roading.

This exploratory journey introduces you to this pristine wilderness in an intimate setting with a Certified Naturalist Guide as your leader. Whale sightings are guaranteed on this small group outing combining a marine exploration with a gentle hike at the Mendenhall Glacier on a rain forest trail. Your trip begins with your guide sharing stories and perspectives as you travel out to the Mendenhall Glacier. A short hike takes you along a wooded path once completely covered by the massive glacier. Spend an hour exploring amid forested moraines and sweeping glacial landscapes—even track the glacier's recession over the past 100 years. This small corner of the Tongass National Forest is home to beavers, eagles, salmon, porcupines and black bears. Following a short drive, you’ll climb aboard an exploration vessel specifically designed for up-close wildlife viewing. The customized covered watercraft puts you eye-to-eye with the denizens that thrive in these protected waters. Humpback whales, orcas, sea lions, porpoises, seals and sea birds are commonly seen. Keep a camera handy as you travel from place to place or drift quietly to capture the behaviors and antics of these notable marine residents. Take a scenic drive up the spectacular Klondike Highway and into Canada’s historic and beautiful Yukon Territory. Your mountain guide and mini bus with big windows will transport you up the original White Pass “Trail of ’98.” Along the way, you’ll be greeted by the rugged expanse of land that both Infuriated and enchanted gold seekers over 100 years ago. Pass waterfalls, glaciers, and peaks before crossing the mountain cradling the 3,292 ft. summit and following a jewel-like string of lakes that feed the Yukon River.
In the Yukon, you’ll visit the village of Carcross. Rich in history, you’ll be charmed by its picturesque log cabins, hotel and General Store. Further north, see the “smallest desert in the world,” and then continue to Emerald Lake, truly a gem in its green valley setting. Lunch is a home-style affair at the Spirit Lake Lodge, famous throughout the Yukon for its wonderful pies. You’ll then return to Skagway with plenty of time left for exploring the historic downtown or shopping.

By land, at Mendenhall Glacier, you will be taken along a secluded moraine ecology trail. This gentle walk leads to beaver dams, salmon streams and remarkable glacier panoramas—sites to inspire your creative photography. By sea, board a covered safari vessel for an unforgettable journey through the pristine waterways of Stephens Passage. Large panel windows open to give you unrestricted views, while your captain safely maneuvers to give you the best angle on the shot.
