After flightseeing over these amazing glaciers, your pilot will gently land on one of these ancient "rivers of ice". Under your pilot’s expert guidance you'll get the chance to walk on an Alaskan glacier, explore the ancient landscape, and experience the otherworldly blue of Alaska's glacial ice! Note: Participants must be at least 2 years of age. Flight time is approximately 35 minutes, with an approximate 20-25 minutes landing on a glacier. Everybody Loves our friendly Rays! Enjoy two great ray activities; a personal encounter plus shore-side snorkeling, then relax and have fun at our private shore club with its resident, friendly critters, and water trampoline. Mere minutes from your ship, you are given all your snorkeling gear, then you're briefed on equipment and the rays. Your guide works with small groups to give you personal attention. First, you’ll encounter the rays in a shallow area and get to feed them if you like. Then, you'll move to a larger area for snorkeling with a larger school of rays and all their colorful fish friends. Finally, you’ll have some beach club leisure time, complete with a snack bar, souvenirs and photos available of your experience. Note: Participants must be at least 4 years old. No pregnancies, back or heart conditions. Facilities are available to shower/change clothes, (please bring your own towel). All stingray barbs are trimmed. Soaring even higher, you may pass the Mendenhall Towers jagged rock sentinels that climb more than 7,000 feet and the spectacular icefalls that overflow to form the Mendenhall Glacier. View icefalls, spires, and the many hanging glaciers suspended on the surrounding mountainsides before a gentle landing on this slowly moving river of ice and explore the glaciers’ surface with your expert glacier guide. See and understand how glaciers form, flow and carve out the landscape. Following your glacier landing, you’ll depart for a thrilling flight back to civilization. Flying over these icefields and the Mendenhall Glacier, you’ll know that you have just experienced something special, walking on water, viewing ancient sights and witnessing dramatic natural beauty in a way, few ever do. Discover the diversity of the southeast Alaska landscape via helicopter as you fly over temperate rainforests and granite peaks that surround Alaska’s capital city. To begin your walk, your pilot will choose a landing site on one of the 36 glaciers in this 1,500-square-mile Icefield. On this relaxing, non-strenuous, one-hour interpretive walk, your guide will point out and explain the glacier features and allows ample time for photos. Trekking poles and crampons will provide superb balance and traction, enabling you to travel easily on the gently rolling glacial terrain.
Note: Participants must be at least 8 years of age and be able to stand and walk on rolling terrain for an hour. Flight time is approximately 35 minutes, with an hour on the glacier. Wind/water-proof outerwear, boots, gloves, hip pack, trekking poles, and crampons are provided. No experience is necessary. This tour is non-refundable. Board an air-conditioned bus for a guided tour through Belize City on your way to the Eco-Park. Climb into your two person kayak and start your tour paddling into a narrow creek shaded by Swamp Kaway. The creek then widens into a small lagoon where, turtles and juvenile crocodiles may be spotted. With some luck you might get to see a lizard skimming across the surface of the water, upright! You would have just seen the Striped Basilisk known by locals as the “Jesus Christ Lizard” because it can walk on water! Afterwards, kick off your shoes and relax in one of our hammocks in the shade of a Buttonwood tree and sip one of our frozen drink specials, made with local fruits. Our freeform pool with its waterslide and sculpted waterfall is ideal for swimming, lounging or simply cooling down. Enjoy a close up view of the beautiful marine life while you snuba in the shallow confines of the Atlantis lagoon. Here, your certified instructor will give a 15-minute safety briefing. Then, experience a 30-minute dive and admire the different features of the Lagoon. Next, come play at Aquaventure, the centerpiece of the Atlantis Resort. Ride swells of rapids in a tropical waterscape and fly down seven-story slides. The new Atlantis is home to an exhilarating new waterscape of pools, water coasters, body slides and rivers that introduce the next generation of water experiences. You’ll also have access to the beach, and to the huge open-air marine habitat where you can find over 50,000 fascinating sea creatures. Note: Participants must be at least 10 years of age. No snorkeling or Scuba experience necessary. Wetsuits are mandatory for the Snuba part of the tour. There is a considerable amount of walking on this tour (approximately 0.4 miles). Your pilot will give you an eagle's eye view of high alpine lakes, "icefalls" hanging from sheer cliffs and some of the most remote peaks and glaciers in the Juneau Icefield, places like Wonderland, Glacier King, the Mendenhall Towers, and Devil's Paw. The itinerary is flexible; your pilot is free to create the best possible tour under the current weather and glacier conditions. For an up-close opportunity to appreciate this ancient landscape, your pilot will land in two different locations, where you'll continue the tour on foot! During these two landings you'll also learn about the geological and environmental processes at work creating moraines, crevasses, seracs, and the glaciers themselves.
