Soaring high above the lush rain forest, incredibly deep valleys and awe inspiring peaks, you'll marvel at vistas seen by few! Your pilot will give you an eagle's eye view of high alpine lakes, "icefalls" hanging from sheer cliffs and some of the most remote peaks and glaciers in the Juneau Icefield, places like Wonderland, Glacier King, the Mendenhall Towers, and Devil's Paw. The itinerary is flexible; your pilot is free to create the best possible tour under the current weather and glacier conditions. For an up-close opportunity to appreciate this ancient landscape, your pilot will land in two different locations, where you'll continue the tour on foot! During these two landings you'll also learn about the geological and environmental processes at work creating moraines, crevasses, seracs, and the glaciers themselves. The "Pilot's Choice" tour is an incomparable journey of discovery, a once-in-a-lifetime experience sure to provide enduring memories of Southeast Alaska's beautiful wilderness. This tour is 2 3/4 hours in length which includes approximately 50 minutes helicopter time and 2 separate landings (each landing approximately 15 minutes). The remaining time is for transportation to and from the dock, a safety briefing, outfitting of glacier boots and aircraft assignment All times are approximate and due to Security Purposes, no bags are allowed on the flight. This tour operates under a special use permit issued by the U.S. Forest Service. Guests 250 lbs. and over are charged an additional rate to reserve two seats for safety and comfort. This tour is non-refundable once booked. less

Join us as we fly over the lush rainforest, deep blue crevasses and glacier carved peaks as your pilots give you a spectacular flight seeing tour to our Dogsled camp on the Mendenhall Glacier. Here the professional musher’s and Alaskan sled dogs will have you driving the team or relaxing in the sled as you take in the awe inspiring scenery. You'll have time to talk with the musher’s about the great 1,000 mile Iditarod race or take pictures with the dogs before your helicopter takes you back to our base and civilization. Don’t miss out on this truly Alaskan Experience! Note: Flight time is approximately 30 minutes with 55-60 minutes at the dog camp. This tour is not available in early May and late September. This foremost guiding service caters to the first timer with hands-on instruction. The experienced fly caster will enjoy the challenge of Alaskan fishing and the guide interaction. All fishing is done on an eco-conscious catch-and-release basis. Fishing species include cutthroat trout, Dolly Varden and various salmon species. All first class gear and equipment is provided, and an Alaskan smoked salmon snack and beverages are included. The only way to experience Alaskan fishing at its finest is to experience the heart of the Alaskan wilderness--something road access simply doesn't allow. Your guide will choose the stream or river fishing location based on current fishing reports, weather and scenic/wildlife variables. Whether you’re a seasoned fly fisherman, a photographer, or a discriminating traveler looking for the true wilderness experience, this is a once in a lifetime adventure.
Note: Participants must be at least 8 years of age and able to walk up to a 1/2 mile on uneven terrain and shallow streams.
