The gardens are a lush paradise of flowers, rare trees and winding paths, created more than 100 years ago. Enjoy the cascading fountains and footbridges connecting the many themed gardens, including the beautiful Sunken Garden, the Japanese Garden and the Rose Garden. Explore the heart and soul of Mazatlan; be amazed by Mexico´s ancient culture and Post-Hispanic era. Your tour will begin by stopping at Vigia Hill for a perfect view of the world’s highest natural Lighthouse, offshore islands and Mazatlan’s scenic coast line. Then, ride through the city’s historic center for a visit to the 19th-century cathedral. Take a short drive to see the famous cliff divers. Next, enjoy a show at Spectaculare Theatre, the history of Mexico with a semblance of the Mayan rituals and their prophecies combined with the most representative folkloric dances. Depart from Ponta Delgada from the southwest of the island to see the view over Mosteiros and the youngest eruptions on the island. On the way back, drive to the inside of the crater of Sete Cidades that was formed thousands of years ago. Visit Santiago Lake viewpoint followed by the most important view of the crater. Stop at Vista do Rei to admire the twin lakes. The calm waters along the edges of the crater make a striking contrast with the steep slopes and create a fascinating scene. Inside the crater lays the picturesque village of Sete Cidades. Afterwards visit Pico do Carvao to see both sides of the island at the same time. Back to Ponta Delgada, stop at Portas do Mar to enjoy an Azorean tasting of local cheeses and wines with a view over the sea and the marina. Note: Tour involves approximately 82 feet (25 meters) of walking on both flat and uneven ground. Sete Cidades village and restrooms are not wheelchair accessible. Tour has limited participation. Tour order may vary but all mentioned sights will be covered. Visibility from all scenic outlooks is dependent upon the weather and therefore cannot be guaranteed. less

Drive though Ponta Delgada heading northeast along the pleasant roads bordering agricultural areas, stretching across the island to Ribeira Grande. Ribeira Grande has a distinct Portuguese influence. Visit some of the most significant monuments of the city and taste some local liquors at a liquor shop. Drive on the mountain road to Lagoa do Fogo, a road with many bends, skirting the mountain all the way up like an enormous whirl. On your way up, stop and walk to Caldeira Velha, a little botanical garden with a waterfall and a small hot spring. The drive continues to Pico da Barrosa Mountain, to see nice views of the Fire Lake. Stop at the belvederes to admire not only the beautiful quiet lake, but also the landscape of the surroundings. Return to Ponta Delgada along the new road, descending towards Remedios da Lagoa. Upon arrival to a pineapple plantation, learn about the process of cultivating and marketing this fruit. Note: Tour involves approximately 0.3 mile (500 meters) of walking on uneven ground, gravel and cobblestone. The liquor shop in Ribeira Grande,Caldeira Velha hot spring, pineapple plantation and restrooms are not wheelchair accessible. Tour order may vary but all mentioned sights will be covered. Enjoy the highlights of Victoria and a visit to the spectacular Butchart Gardens on this shore excursion. Departing Ogden Point your guide will point out the highlights, which nclude the Majestic Parliament Buildings, Empress Hotel, Royal BC Museum, Beacon Hill Park, exclusive residential districts of the Uplands and Oak Bay with their manicured grounds and gardens, Bastion Square and Chinatown (the oldest in Canada) including the "Gates of Harmonious Interest".
At Butchart Gardens, see how the Butchart family transformed a barren rock quarry into what is now one of the world’s best-known horticultural attractions, covering more than 55 acres. The gardens are a lush paradise of flowers, rare trees and winding paths. Created over 100 years ago, this once-private garden is spectacular. Take a journey for approximately 45 minutes to the ancient ruins of Izapa. From it’s beginnings as a small village, Izapa grew into the region’s most influential cultural and commercial center with a population of possibly up to 10,000 people. Izapa brought together many of Mesoamerica’s ancient cultures and many believe it may be the site of origin of the sacred Mayan Calendar; although, much study remains to be done in order to unlock these secrets. Next, travel by bus to Chocolate Discovery, where you’ll be able to see how the cocoa beans are transformed into chocolate right at the main square. Also, you’ll see and sample the local cuisine, as well as see a variety of local handcrafts and exotic flowers of the region. Local dances and marimba players will be sharing their skills with lively performances. After a stop at the local historic church, you will be on your way back to your ship. Note: Guests should wear a hat and comfortable shoes. Bring eco-friendly sunscreen and bug repellent. Most areas are not wheelchair accessible. less

Victoria is the gateway to the Puget Sound, Gulf Islands, and San Juan Islands, and is home to three resident pods of Orca Whales. This tour is designed to take you as up close and personal as permitted with the whales and sea life as they explore their natural feeding grounds along the shores British Columbia’s rugged coastline. You’ll board a motorcoach for a short transfer over to the whale watching vessel departure point. The vessels are equipped with restrooms, and offer covered as well as open viewing locations. As you travel to the viewing location, be sure to enjoy the majesty of the coastline and mountains surrounding you. This area is a playground for many of the world’s wealthiest yacht owners, and multi-million dollar yachts can often be seen cruising through the waters. Note: Orcas are regularly seen, but not guaranteed. This tour is not recommended for pregnant women and people with back problems. less

This combination excursion gives you the opportunity to ride a historical train that has been in service for more than 50 years and participate on a scenic ride through rural countryside and tropical fields. Afterwards, board your motorcoach en route to the Tarcoles River where you’ll go on a boat and explore the spectacular natural scenery this river has to offer. The river and mangroves attract many types of bird wildlife such as toucans, spoonbills, herons, egrets, jacanas, pelicans, scarlet macaws, iguanas and crocodiles. Upon your return enjoy some live marimba melodies and enjoy a delicious buffet of seasonal fruits and tropical refreshments. Enough time will be provided to select crafts made by local artisans before returning to your ship. Note: This excursion might operate in reverse order. Please wear casual clothing, comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and bring a camera and raingear. Wildlife sightings while common cannot be guaranteed. Advance notice is needed for guests in wheelchairs; motorized scooters cannot be handled, only foldable wheelchairs. The type of walking required is along even roads and compact gravel trails. Discover beautiful Mazatlan in a two-passenger mini-Rhino. See various sites that the ordinary tourists cannot see; this is a perfect vehicle to drive on the narrow streets of the Historic District. Before starting the tour, you’ll receive a brief orientation and safety instructions from your guide. Start by visiting the Cathedral, Machado Plaza which is considered to be the heart of the historic district as well as the Opera House and its museum. Next, stop at the Diver’s site for an amazing cliff diver’s show; continue driving north along the ocean front boulevard towards New Mazatlán. Here, enjoy the scenery and views of ‘Puerto Viejo Bay’, beaches and islands. Upon arrival to the Rhino’s base camp in the Golden Zone, you’ll have time for some shopping before returning to your ship. Note: Participants must be at least 8 years of age and weigh no more than 250 lbs. Drivers must be 18 years old and present a valid driver’s license to the tour operator. Price is per mini Rhino. This "reduced environmental footprint" experience will appeal to all of your senses. See Victoria’s highlights, smell the fragrant flowers at Butchart Gardens and tantalize your taste buds with an organic gourmet picnic. While your knowledgeable guide points out some of Victoria’s most interesting sights, you'll travel in comfort aboard a B100 coach fueled by biodiesel, made from recycled waste cooking oil collected from cruise ships visiting Victoria. With views of Beacon Hill Park as well as rolling landscapes and farmland en route, you'll arrive at Canada’s famed National Historic Site, Butchart Gardens. The gardens have been transformed from a lifeless rock quarry to a horticultural masterpiece over 100 years ago. Stroll at your own pace through 55 acres of beautiful blooms and themed gardens.
Upon arrival you'll be directed to your picnic site (the residence lawn) and provided with your wicker basket and gourmet picnic prepared from fresh and locally grown organic produce. You may choose to enjoy your picnic on the lawns (over a ground cover) or at a picnic table. As an added bonus, guests visiting on Saturdays in July and August will be treated to the Butchart Gardens fireworks display, choreographed to music. Norwegian Pearl sailings only. On your return, enjoy a narrated sightseeing tour of Victoria’s downtown area, including Chinatown, the historic Empress Hotel and the picturesque Parliament buildings. Your participation on this excursion will help support the local James Bay Community School, allowing vulnerable families the opportunity for their children to be able to partake in youth getaways & summer sports camps. Experience Mexico’s past and present as you explore the ancient Mayan archaeological site of Izapa. Examine artifacts in the Regional Museum and then wander Tapachula’s town square on a sightseeing adventure that will both educate and delight you. Take an approximate 45 minute ride to the ancient ruins of Izapa. From it’s beginnings as a small village around 1500 B.C, Izapa grew into the region’s most influential cultural and commercial center. From here, you’ll travel by bus to the culturally diverse city of Tapachula whose history and heritage has been influenced not only by the Mayans, Mestizo and Spanish but by German, Chinese, Japanese and French immigrants as well. Visit the Archaeological Museum where you’ll be able to inspect Mayan artifacts found in the region. Then, your tour guide will introduce you to some the city’s highlights on a short walking tour around the town square. You’ll have free time for shopping in local artisan shops for leather goods, ceramics and more. You can also explore cafes and colorful streets before returning by bus to your ship.
