Panama Canal Cruises: Excursions

Explore the essence of Mexico at a pace set to match your riding ability. On 21-gear, full-suspension bikes, this beautiful, yet dusty ride, passes fruit plantations and rustic towns with an enormous diversity of vegetation. Your experienced guide will make sure that you are properly outfitted, point out the sights and answer all your questions. During your ride the tour will be followed by a relief vehicle in radio contact with your knowledgeable guide at all times. Then you’ll head back to the hacienda to explore before you rejoin the transportation back to your ship. Note: Participants must be at least 12 years of age, weigh no more than 220 lbs. and a minimum height of 5 feet. Sturdy, closed-toe shoes are required. Mandatory helmets are provided, along with elbow, knee and wrist protection. Snacks are available at your own expense at the Hacienda. less

Begin your tour with a 40-minute scenic boat ride through historic Nassau Harbor to Blue Lagoon Island. Upon arrival you’ll be given a fun and interactive orientation covering the natural history of sea lions, animal training techniques, ocean conservation and wildlife guidelines. This educational and entertaining encounter is your chance to experience sea lions live and close-up like never before. You’ll have the opportunity to kiss, hug, feed and play with these affectionate and humorous marine mammals. Your sea lion interaction will take place from specially designed, waist-deep submerged platforms in a calm, private island lagoon with ten or less guests in your program. While at the facility, you’ll also have the opportunity to speak with one of the many animal care staff about the care of marine mammals. It will be a unique adventure you’ll never forget! Note: Participants must be at least 8 years of age and 48 inches or taller. Guests ages 8 to 12 must be accompanied by a responsible paying adult with a ticket for this encounter. Not advised for pregnant women. Guests must be able to go up and down steps to access the platform. This tour is not able to accommodate handicapped guests. No cameras or videos will be allowed on the sea lion encounter platform. A professional on-site photo and video staff will capture your sea lion interaction and have your memorable souvenirs at an additional cost. Hike the historic Chilkoot Trail, the centerpiece of Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. This world famous trail was the main route to the riches of the Klondike during the gold rush. Enjoy the exercise, fresh air, beautiful scenery, pristine forest, and history of a bygone era as the trail takes you up and over the 350' tall Saintly Hill. When the trail reaches the banks of the Taiya River you’ll board an 18-foot inflatable raft for a scenic float (no whitewater) back down the tidal estuary, where the forest gives way to fields of beach greens, wild iris and the granite walls of the fjord rise steeply to snow- capped peaks and hanging glaciers. Enjoy a riverside snack and countless picture perfect moments before making the return journey back to your ship.

Note: Participants must be at least 7 years of age, weigh no more than 350 lbs, be in good physical condition and must be able to hike approximately 2 miles with an elevation gain and descent of 350'. We recommend you dress in layers. Ponchos and boots are provided. The float trip has no white water and can be enjoyed by anyone.

On this two-tank dive you’ll travel through deep submarine canyons just off San Lucas Bay and marvel at the rich marine environment on this adventure. Diving locations are just off the rocky shore and feature large boulders and pinnacles; the rocky walls attract schools of fish such as snapper and goatfish. The ledges are covered with marine invertebrates, starfish, nudibranchs and urchins. Look out for king and Cortez angelfish, Moorish idols and guinea fowl puffers. Note: Participants must be at least 12 years of age, weigh less than 280 lbs. and in good physical condition. You’ll be required to complete a medical release form. You must present a valid certification card (C-Card) and must have logged a certified dive within the last year. All equipment, including professional supervision and boat transportation is included. Located at the east side of beautiful Cozumel Island, with more than 16 years in the horseback riding business, this island tour is one you can't afford to miss. The adventure starts when you’re picked up at your ship's pier in Cozumel, where you’ll be taken by bus to your final destination, The Ranch. Each rider will be assigned a horse depending on their own riding experience. Then it’s off to the mystic land of the Mayan civilization that once upon a time resided at BuenaVista. During your hour and a half horseback riding tour, your guide will explain how their ancestors used to live, which gods used to be adored and also the way life was perceived back then. After getting a great view of the Mayan vestiges and several caverns, you will saddle down and enter the Beautiful IXCHEL cave where participants will learn the history of this ancient goddess. The adventure concludes at the cantina area at the award winning swimming pool where everybody is invited to enjoy a swim and one complementary soft drink, which are included in the admittance ticket. Guests can also relax in the hammock area. When all this is achieved, the bus will be ready to take everyone back safely to the original place of departure. Note: Participants must be at least 12 years of age and no more than 65 years of age to participate. Maximum weight limit is 230 lbs. Bottled water is provided during the tour. Guests must be able to walk unassisted and/or without any orthopedic device(s). Guests with back/neck injuries, recent surgery and/or pregnant women are not allowed on this tour. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory and long pants are recommended. We recommend you bring your swimsuit, sun block lotion and bug spray. Guests will not be permitted to run with the horses, get into the ocean or consume alcoholic beverages before the horseback ride. less

This excursion gives you the best opportunity to view moose and other Alaskan wildlife in their natural setting. Although wildlife sightings are not guaranteed, they are frequent. Your tour begins with a 45 minute ferry to Haines aboard a comfortable 150 passenger catamaran. The naturalist will guide you through this adventure from the gold rush town of Skagway to the quaint community of Haines with access to miles of different channels of the Chilkat River in a specially designed, flat-bottom riverboat. Most of the 48,000 acre preserve is untouched wilderness, with towering mountains, hanging glaciers and unspoiled nature.

The boat is uncovered for better wildlife and photo opportunities but extra jackets and large waterproof, windproof lap blankets will you keep you dry and warm. Join your hosts, the Hess family at their private property with modern restroom facilities and a covered and heated lunch pavilion. Enjoy a meal of hot dogs, vegetarian chili, chicken noodle soup, chips,cookies and beverages. Afterwards you’ll have time to sit by the campfire or watch for mountain goats on the nearby mountains.

Note: Although wildlife sightings are frequent, they’re not guaranteed. Outdoor wear, hats, gloves, and blankets are provided at the site. Your lunch may be served either before or after the river portion of the tour, mealtime appropriate.
