You’ll journey to the ancient place of Mayan pilgrimage known today as Chacchoben also known as The Place of Red Corn. At the pier, you’ll be greeted by a bilingual guide who will direct you to an air-conditioned bus. Onboard the bus your guide will brief you on the interesting history and unique culture of the tour ahead. Upon arrival at Chacchoben you’ll be surrounded by jungle. Your guide will escort you through the ruins, giving you complete explanations of the sacred temples and other structures seen there. See original red paint on the stucco walls of one of the pyramids and the temple where a mural was found showing the astronomical positions of the planet Venus. You’ll have time to climb the Gran Basamento taking you above tree level. Here archaeologists found ceremonial offerings dating to around 1000 B.C. Your guide will also explain about the wildlife and medicinal plants that are used by the modern-day descendants of the ancient Mayan people. Note: Tour includes complimentary beverages. There is a government tax of $5-8 US for the use of video cameras at the site. No tripods and/or professional video cameras are allowed. We recommend that you bring insect repellent. less

Experience Mexico’s past and present as you explore the ancient Mayan archaeological site of Izapa. Examine artifacts in the Regional Museum and then wander Tapachula’s town square on a sightseeing adventure that will both educate and delight you. Take an approximate 45 minute ride to the ancient ruins of Izapa. From it’s beginnings as a small village around 1500 B.C, Izapa grew into the region’s most influential cultural and commercial center. From here, you’ll travel by bus to the culturally diverse city of Tapachula whose history and heritage has been influenced not only by the Mayans, Mestizo and Spanish but by German, Chinese, Japanese and French immigrants as well. Visit the Archaeological Museum where you’ll be able to inspect Mayan artifacts found in the region. Then, your tour guide will introduce you to some the city’s highlights on a short walking tour around the town square. You’ll have free time for shopping in local artisan shops for leather goods, ceramics and more. You can also explore cafes and colorful streets before returning by bus to your ship. Note: Guests should wear a hat and comfortable shoes. Bring eco-friendly sunscreen and bug repellent. Most areas are not wheelchair accessible. less

Your scenic drive will include a stop to enjoy breathtaking views of the Bay of Tangolunda - the luxury resort area. Pass the Bay of Conejos all the way up to the river estuary before proceeding to La Crucecita (downtown Huatulco), the evergreen Central Park (Zocalo), and the beautiful church dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe, host of the world’s largest painting of the Virgin on its ceiling. If you like to shop, you’ll find several stores offering a wide variety of handicrafts including black pottery from the valleys of Oaxaca, handmade woven rugs and carpets milled on traditional looms, and the world-famous 'alebrijes' allegories of fantastic animals. Typical products, like Mezcal (the original Oaxacan version of the well-known Tequila), chocolate rivaling with the best Swiss-made ones, coffee, regional cheese, clothes, wines, and liquors are available. To finalize your tour, take in the stunning views of the Bay of Santa Cruz, La Entrega Beach, and your ship. Note: To fully participate, this tour requires leisurely walking over mostly even surfaces. There are a limited number of steps, some cobblestones and uneven surfaces. There will be some standing for extended periods of time. Bottled water is provided on the bus. less

On this leisurely exploration, you’ll see dramatic scenery of desert terrain, breathtaking seascapes and rugged coastline, marked by unusual rock formations. Visit a local glass-blowing factory to observe native craftsmen at work and to purchase glassware. Have some refreshments at a scenic stop while you enjoy the panoramic view of Cabo San Lucas Bay. Set course to the picturesque town of San Jose del Cabo to take a guided tour of the commons and the Jesuit mission church. You’ll have some free time to explore before taking a ride to the heart of Cabo San Lucas, the Zocalo. Here, engage in an enlightening chat about the original settlement of Cabo and the indigenous flora of the region. Finalize by tour at the old opera house, now converted to a popular local restaurant. Here you’ll enjoy a free tequila sample before returning to your ship. Start your tour of the beautiful city of Cartagena with a photo stop at San Felipe de Barajas Fortress, situated outside the walled city and considered the largest Spanish fort in the New World. Continue to the Old City and wander through narrow cobblestone streets and squares while you admire the Colonial architecture, balconies and old churches. Your next stop will be the Gold Museum where you'll see beautiful displays of valuable pre-Colombian gold artifacts and some of the old ceramics in the Americas. You'll also learn about the Zenu nation’s amazing hydraulic engineering achievements. Enjoy a folkloric show during your visit to the Navy Museum which was established in 1986. Here, you’ll find historic military efforts of Cartagena, see the wealth of historical artifacts, maritime life and naval history of Colombia. A bottle of water or soft drink will be served upon arrival at the museum. Before returning to your ship, take home some souvenirs from Pierino Gallo shopping center and enjoy panoramic sightseeing through Bocagrande, the modern part of the city. As you sail along the picturesque seashore framed by emerald hills, you'll see some St.Maarten's famous sights including Fort Amsterdam, Little Bay, Cay Bay, and Pelican Key. During the ride you can list to stories and interesting facts about St. Maarten. At the first stop, discover the underwater world and its inhabitants: sea turtles, starfish, octopus, angelfish, barracuda, sea urchins, stingray, snapper, and even dolphins! Just put the mask on and start looking! On the way to the next stop you'll have a chance to see another breathtaking St.Maarten sight – planes low-landing to Princess Juliana Airport. At the second stop you’ll spend time on one of St. Maarten’s best beaches! Take part in beach competitions, have fun trying our waterslide, swim in cool turquoise water or relax on smooth sugar sand. Voyage into Behm Canal, surrounded by the pristine beauty of Misty Fjords. Stop to view a bald eagle’s nest, and a Tlingit pictograph. Admire New Eddystone Rock, an immense volcanic spire rising from the sea. You’ll explore Rudyerd Bay, an ice-carved masterpiece deep within the Monument. Learn the natural history of the fjords while gliding quietly beneath 3,000-foot vertical cliffs. Feel the mist of glistening waterfalls and listen to the call of seabirds nesting on a rock face sculpted by glacial forces. Head out to the second largest barrier reef in the world to learn about Roatan’s history underwater. Yes, you'll actually learn about it while snorkeling the pristine, calm waters just inside the reef as you visit the Underwater Museum. The coral garden will showcase the abundant marine life on the island. Roatan’s history goes back to the Maya civilization, and travels through time witnessing the arrival of the Conquistadores, the Garifuna and the fishing industry. During your tour today, you'll visit the Underwater Museum which showcases artifacts from each of those periods - including a sunken Spanish galleon - all surrounded by a beautiful coral garden on the barrier reef. After departing the pier on the way to the museum, your friendly guide will provide you with very useful and important information about the island. Upon arrival at the museum, you'll receive a safety briefing and your snorkel equipment and will head out to the starting point just a few yards off the dock on a boat for the 60-minute snorkel tour. Your snorkeling guides will be with you all the time to make sure you follow the path. Bring your waterproof camera as this is truly a unique snorkeling experience. After the snorkel tour, you'll have some free time to take photos and relax before returning to the cruise ship pier where your tour will come to an end. Note: Mask, snorkel, fins and vest are included. Knowing how to swim is preferred but not required to take the tour. Snorkeling is done in 5 to 20 feet of calm water on the inside of the reef. Two snorkeling guides for every 15 guests accompany the tour on the water. Please bring a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen and bug spray. Drinks and snacks are available for purchase at the museum. less

You’ll experience nature at its finest including native flora, roaring crisp clean rivers with scenic rapids and waterfalls. Next visit the North Island Wildlife Recovery Center a not-for-profit volunteer run organization dedicated to protecting and caring for injured wildlife. The center is home to Black bears, bald eagles, great horned owls, and a variety of birds. The center has an operating room, interpretive museum, Eagle flight cage, and Black Bear cage. Enjoy a picnic style snack of wild Pacific smoked salmon, cream cheese, crackers, and a Nanaimo Bar.
