Embark on an open-air gondola ride with a bilingual naturalist guide to safely glide you through a living backdrop of giant trees, hanging gardens, waterfalls and lush green landscapes. Panoramic ocean views and common sightings of wildlife that thrive in the canopy will introduce you to this unique transitional forest. This is also one of the few areas in Costa Rica where you can occasionally see spectacular scarlet macaws majestically soaring above the treetops or sitting in one of the trees. To complete your rainforest experience, visit the Serpentarium, a medicinal plant Garden and Heliconias Gallery. Start your day with a short transfer to Helsingborg town center. See 'The Keep', the remains of a 14th century castle which offers an extensive panorama of Helsingborg and across the sound to Denmark. Next, take the coastal route to Sofiero, a former royal summer residence and park with wonderful rhododendrons. Pass through the nature reserve of Palsjo Forest en route to Lund. This university town is set in a delightful pastoral environment. From the 12th to the 15th century it was the largest town in Scandinavia and the seat of a Danish archbishop. Once at the heart of town, visit the cathedral which is the oldest Romanesque church in Sweden, founded in 1080 by the Danish King Knut den Helige. It serves as a reminder of the fact that Lund was once the oldest episcopal seat in Scandinavia, with 27 churches and eight religious houses. In the aisle is the famous 14th-century astronomical clock with figures that emerge and perform twice daily. Continue on to Malmo, once a humble, medieval village on Oresund that was Danish up until 1658. For centuries it was caught in the crossfire between Nordic kingdoms feuding over the sovereignty of southern Sweden. Today however, Malmo is not only the capital of Skane Province, it is also Sweden’s third-largest city. Its strategic location is a major asset, being at the intersection of two cultures and only a bridge away from Europe. Heading back to Helsingborg, lunch will be served at a castle, very typical for this province. Note: Tour may operate in reverse order. Bring a credit card for additional purchases. Experience white water rapids, rolling waves, gentle currents, themed caves and never-before-seen special effects as you float along in a single or double tube. Note: Participants must be at least 2 years of age for the Dolphin Interaction program and at least 48 inches tall to ride water slides at the Aquaventure. A parent or appointed guardian must participate in the programs with all children under the age of 10. This program includes a video orientation and a trainer talk, complimentary wet suit, natural fruit, infused water, personal locker, towels, beach service, and all-day access to Dolphin Cay’s private beach. Wetsuits are mandatory at Dolphin Cay. Due to the amount of walking, numerous steps and inclines, the Aquaventure tour is not recommended for the physically challenged or for pregnant women. There is a considerable amount of walking on this tour (approximately 0.4 miles). Sandals or ‘aqua socks’ are strongly recommended for children of all ages. Non-motorized water sports are available for rent. Guests should bring a credit card for drink and food purchases. This tour is non-refundable. The transportation for this tour is by bus, approximately 25-minutes each way depending on traffic conditions. Guests participating on an Atlantis Shore Excursion must arrive at the place and time stated on the Shore Excursion ticket. Atlantis tour tickets will not be honored at the resort. Prices may vary per sailing date. This tour is not available for the N. Epic and N. Sun. The last transfer back to the ship will be one hour before sailing time.
