Victoria is the gateway to the Puget Sound, Gulf Islands, and San Juan Islands, and is home to three resident pods of Orca Whales. This tour is designed to take you as up close and personal as permitted with the whales and sea life as they explore their natural feeding grounds along the shores British Columbia’s rugged coastline. You’ll board a motorcoach for a short transfer over to the whale watching vessel departure point. The vessels are equipped with restrooms, and offer covered as well as open viewing locations. As you travel to the viewing location, be sure to enjoy the majesty of the coastline and mountains surrounding you. This area is a playground for many of the world’s wealthiest yacht owners, and multi-million dollar yachts can often be seen cruising through the waters. Note: Orcas are regularly seen, but not guaranteed. This tour is not recommended for pregnant women and people with back problems. less

Admire New Eddystone Rock, an immense volcanic spire rising from the sea. You’ll explore Rudyerd Bay, an ice-carved masterpiece deep within the Monument. Learn the natural history of the fjords while gliding quietly beneath 3,000-foot vertical cliffs. Ride the historic White Pass and Yukon Route Railroad Railway and traverse the Yukon Suspension Bridge for a true Alaskan adventure. From an antique parlor car enjoy the spectacular scenery while your tour guide shares the stories and history of the Klondike Gold Rush with you. Upon arrival in Fraser, British Columbia board your motorcoach for the short ride to Tutshi Canyon. Thrill to the roaring white-water rapids of the Tutshi River and canyon views as you cross the swaying Yukon Suspension Bridge on foot.
Visit the interpretive areas with lively graphic panels that reveal the natural and human history of the area. Tagish First Nation Staff and Elders are onsite and available to answer questions. There’s also a gift shop with authentic items and art from First Nations Communities. Board your motorcoach for the journey down the west side of the White Pass Canyon back to Skagway. You’ll see picturesque points such as Tormented Valley and Pitchfork Falls as your drive/guide shares stories of the stampeders who trekked through the pass in search of gold.

Experience an unforgettable journey along the eastern side of White Pass aboard the world famous narrow gauge White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad, built more than 100 years ago through some of the North's most rugged terrain. Board a comfortable, vintage rail car and retrace the original route beyond the summit of White Pass at 2,865 feet through breathtaking scenery. Upon reaching Fraser, British Columbia, you’ll board a motor coach for the journey down the west side of White Pass Canyon as you hear about Tormented Valley and Pitchfork Falls.
Stop at historic Liarsville, a gold rush trail camp located at the foot of the White Pass and nestled beside a waterfall. The camp was named for the journalists whose reports on the Klondike Gold Rush included tall tales of the prospectors’ exploits. Browse the authentic camp exhibits, including antiques and garments left behind. A cast of sourdoughs and dance hall girls will entertain you with a hilarious melodrama and a poem. You’ll then be set free in the Liarsville gold fields, where you are guaranteed to find some gold of your own! Enjoy a snack, shop for souvenirs or have your photo taken with a dance hall girl or the camp’s sled dog mascot, Denali.

On your journey up the fjord, you’ll pass the old George Inlet Cannery, and Mahoney River Valley, home to bears, eagles, and salmon that return to spawn annually. This fully guided wilderness hike begins with a brief 20 minute train ride aboard the Historic White Pass and Yukon Route Railway. You’ll ride through the wilderness to the Denver Valley trailhead located in the Tongass National Forest. Your hiking guide will accompany you through the dense coastal rainforest filled with old-growth trees, moss beds, and other flora. On your 3 to 5 mile hike, the trail occasionally intersects with the raging Skagway River and lookout points provide spectacular views of the Sawtooth Mountain Range.
The hike can be done as a casual stroll through the forest or as a more aggressive hike, depending on your preference. There’s plenty of opportunity for photography and there is potential for wildlife sightings. Bear, moose, and mountain goats all call this valley home. Guides will provide information about the region’s natural and gold rush history. Enjoy a refreshment before boarding the train for your return trip to town.
Note: Participants must be at least 9 years of age and in good physical condition. Dress in layers and wear sturdy walking shoes. The train returns from Canada, all participants are required to carry a valid passport. Tour duration includes approximately three hours (3 to 5 miles) on the trail.

Hike the historic Chilkoot Trail, the centerpiece of Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. This world famous trail was the main route to the riches of the Klondike during the gold rush. Enjoy the exercise, fresh air, beautiful scenery, pristine forest, and history of a bygone era as the trail takes you up and over the 350' tall Saintly Hill. When the trail reaches the banks of the Taiya River you’ll board an 18-foot inflatable raft for a scenic float (no whitewater) back down the tidal estuary, where the forest gives way to fields of beach greens, wild iris and the granite walls of the fjord rise steeply to snow- capped peaks and hanging glaciers. Enjoy a riverside snack and countless picture perfect moments before making the return journey back to your ship.
Note: Participants must be at least 7 years of age, weigh no more than 350 lbs, be in good physical condition and must be able to hike approximately 2 miles with an elevation gain and descent of 350'. We recommend you dress in layers. Ponchos and boots are provided. The float trip has no white water and can be enjoyed by anyone.

After a riverside picnic, you’ll board 18-foot inflatable rafts to enjoy a peaceful float (no whitewater) down the river through the very heart of the preserve. Watch for eagles, bears, moose, and even wolves, drawn here by the spawning salmon. 7,000 foot tall peaks tower above as you float past the ancient native village of Klukwan.
