This one-day visit gives you a sampling of the city's treasures, including a visit to the beautiful Basilica of Santa Croce, and an up-close look at the statue of David, magnificently carved by Michelangelo. As you approach Florence, you'll stop at the Piazza Michelangelo for an overview of the city's tiled roofs, steeples and domes. All the main attractions in Florence are centrally located and perfect for a walking tour. First, you'll visit the Galleria Dell'Accademia where you can see Michelangelo's famous Statue of David, and best of all, you’ll have a reserved time for entering so you won't have to stand in long lines! You'll visit Piazza del Duomo, the religious center of Florence in front of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. Continue on to the Piazza della Signoria, the Basilica of Santa Croce and then walk to the Ponte Vecchio for a photo opportunity. After lunch, some free time for shopping is allowed before returning to Livorno. Note: Your guide will join you in Florence, however you’ll have an escort with you throughout the day. Guests who are planning to visit religious sites during free time or on tour, please dress appropriately; no bare shoulders or shorts are allowed. The walking tour in Florence will cover approximately 2 miles. Most museums are closed on holidays. The Galleria Dell’Accademia is closed on Mondays; this tour will not be available for guests on the Norwegian Spirit May 11th, 2013 and September 20th, 2013 sailings. less

You could be Scuba diving in the warm, crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean in no time! A team of PADI instructors will dedicate their time to you and take you through the step-by-step introductory course that will teach you how to breathe and swim freely underwater. Your dive site reaches a maximum depth of 25 feet, home to schools of sergeant majors, pairing angelfish, and lobsters. Cozumel, with its warm and exceptionally clear waters, offers an outstanding opportunity for you to make your first dive a remarkable experience. Note: Participants must be at least 12 years of age. Depart the pier and take a short walk across to the train station to board your exclusively chartered standard train for an approximate 3 to 3 1/2 hour journey from Warnemunde to Berlin. While relaxing and watching the German countryside pass by, you’ll be served a light breakfast snack. Upon arrival at one of Berlin’s train stations, your local Berlin tour guide will welcome and assist you to board your coach. Depart on an exciting tour of Berlin, covering the top 10 highlights of this bustling city. Photo stops will be made at the East Side Gallery, a 3/4 mile long section of the Berlin wall, Checkpoint Charlie and at the Bebelplatz where below the ground level lies the Empty Library. You’ll pass by the Potsdamer Platz, formerly a no man's land between East and West where the first gap in the Berlin Wall was made in 1989, and which is today a pristine block of futuristic glass-and-steel skyscrapers. A few blocks away from here, at the Holocaust Memorial, you’ll have another opportunity for a photo stop before making your way over to the famous Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag government building. Enjoy a traditional German pub style lunch before continuing your tour. Next, there's an an outside visit to the Charlottenburg Palace, the oldest surviving Prussian palace, and then drive into the former western part of Berlin, along the Kurfuerstendamm, where you’ll pass by the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial church and the largest department store on the continent of Europe, the KaDeWe. Continue passing Berlin’s main train station with more than 80 shops that are all open seven days a week. Also, see the Victory column commemorating the Prussian victories. Depending on the order of the tour and timing, you’ll have the opportunity to either spend some time at leisure at the Kurfuerstendamm, Friedrichstrasse or Berlin’s Main Train Station (or similar), before transferring to the station for your return journey back to Warnemunde. Board your transportation for a scenic drive to Coral World Ocean Park, one of the top attractions in St. Thomas. Upon arrival, you'll be escorted to the Undersea Observatory Tower for an educational briefing about sea lions. Then join the sea lions at their enclosure for the opportunity to get up close and personal with these intelligent yet comical creatures both on land and in the water. Touch, pet and play games with the sea lions as they demonstrate their amazing agility. Practice some of the hand signals used by the trainers. At the end of the encounter, your playful hosts give a hug, a big wet kiss and pose for photos. There will be time to tour the Coral World exhibits including sharks, turtles and stingrays. On the return, you may choose to return to the ship or be dropped off downtown to browse and shop. You are then responsible for your return to the ship. Note: Participants must be at least 8 years of age, weigh a minimum of 50 lbs. and be able to climb up a ladder and swim in a life jacket. Women who are pregnant may not participate. Wearing a life jacket is required. No observers are allowed in the sea lion swim area. Each child under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a participating adult. Guests are required to wear a life jacket and sign a release form. Due to the amount of interaction with sea lion trainers, participants must speak and understand English. Guest must know how to tread water and be comfortable in the water. less

Learn about, meet and interact with the bottlenose dolphin. The friendly nature and legendary intelligence of these animals account for their huge popularity. You’ll be transferred to and from Blue Lagoon Island by boat, from the pier (40 minutes each way). This lagoon is home to 19 bottlenose dolphins. Upon arrival, you’ll meet the dolphin trainers for a 10-minute educational briefing and be helped onto a floating platform in small groups for the opportunity to touch and interact with dolphins in waist-deep water. Note: Participants ages 3 or younger receive free admission if accompanied in the program by a participating paying adult (parent or guardian at least 18 years of age). Children between the ages of 3 to 12 must be accompanied in the water by a paying guardian/parent. The paying guardian/parent must be book at the same time of the child participant; these booking cannot be made onboard as space is very limited. Actual in-water encounter time is approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Approximately 1/2 to 1 mile of walking on the pier is required. Wear your swimsuit and bring a towel from your ship. Space is very limited so please book early. less

You will be greeted at the pier by your bilingual guide and then board your air-conditioned motor coach for a short drive to the ruins of San Gervasio, the sanctuary of the goddess Ixchel, the main Mayan entity on the island. Your guide will walk you through and explain all the details about the millenary Mayan culture and the vestiges left here for you to admire. Then,get back onboard for a scenic ride around the island, passing by stretches of white sand beaches, limestone formations and amazing turquoise waters on your way to the beach area. Start your 'once in a lifetime experience' shore excursion in the world’s most beautiful dolphinarium. Located just a short walk from Cozumel’s downtown shopping area, it’s the only place in all the Caribbean where you can swim with dolphins for approximately 40 minutes in the safety of a calm ocean cove. This is a very hands-on program allows you to experience the true magic of these magnificent mammals. Starting on a waist-deep submerged platform you’ll be able to touch their velvety soft skin, listen to them sing and watch them play. Following this you’ll be able to float out into the deeper water of the natural ocean coves to swim with the dolphins and touch them as they gracefully glide by you. You’ll be provided with a mask if you want to see them under water as well. After a kiss, a hug and a friendly fin shake you’ll receive a fantastic dolphin ride around the cove. This adventure tour takes place in the Guacalillo Estuary on the Tarcoles River that forms the northern border of the Carara Biological Reserve. It’s home to one of the world’s largest crocodile populations in the world with individuals up to 20 feet long that can live up to 60 years. In addition to the crocodiles, over 50 different bird species might be seen on site. The Guacalillo Estuary famous for its mangrove forests, is one of the nesting sites of the very rare scarlet macaw and a great variety of resident and migrant waterfowls, iguanas and Jesus Christ lizards. Your adventure begins with a one hour ride on coastal and countryside roads, passing small towns en route to the premises of the Jungle Crocodile Safari created by the veterinarian Mr. Mario Orjuela in 1993. Using catamaran-style boats, you’ll be able to observe these wild animals from a safe distance. A delicious tropical fruit buffet will be waiting for you at your return with tropical fruit drinks and coffee. Ample time for purchasing crafts made by local artisans will be given. Note: At the beginning of the Tarcoles exploration, you’ll receive a free bird guide for you to be able to identify the birds that you might see. Wear comfortable shoes, long pants, a hat, sunscreen and bring sunglasses, a light jacket/raingear and insect repellent. Walking is over cemented and gravel trails. Explore New Providence Island on a 4 x 4 vehicle. You’ll be given an orientation of your shared 4WD vehicle. There are four guests to each vehicle, perfect for you and your friends. Take turns driving and navigating through traffic or one person can do all the driving. Listen to your lead guide’s narration though your onboard walkie-talkie while you drive into the island’s interior. Pass through the typical countryside; here you’ll see the island in your own unique style. See one of the old Colonial forts and other historical and architectural buildings. Your guide will also point out homes of the famous and infamous that lived on the island. Then, visit a local beach to relax or swim before caravanning through the countryside back to the staging area. You’ll then walk back at your leisure through town back to the pier. Note: Drivers must be at least 25 years of age and provide a valid driver’s license. This is a self-driven tour with a guide. Children under 8 years of age must use a child seat which must be pre-reserved in advance; visit our Shore Excursion Desk onboard for more details. Bring a towel and sunscreen. Once here, don’t miss the "Bat Cave", located a few yards from the beach; snorkel into the cave and discover why it’s called the Lover’s Corner. Relax under a palm umbrella called ‘Palapa’ and enjoy refreshments or a delicious seafood dish at an additional cost. Next, swim the underwater world of Huatulco while tanning under the sun of this Mexican South Pacific beach. On your way back to the pier, you’ll have the chance to fill your eyes with different tones of blue from the sightseeing spots located along the roads and enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of the shoreline of Huatulco. You’ll make a stop on the impressive viewpoint of “La Entrega” where you’ll be able to take pictures while admiring your ship and the Bay of Santa Cruz. Until now, diving Costa Maya has been a closely kept secret and is one of the most pristine dive destinations in the Caribbean. Your excursion begins with a short ride through the quaint town of Mahahual to an eco-friendly dive center. Here you’ll be split up into small groups, gather your gear and board one of our dive boats. You’ll be diving on the spectacular Meso-American Barrier reef, where the reef formations are massive and form huge swim-throughs and ledges. This breathtaking reef is also known for its beautiful corals and exotic marine life. Common marine life includes sea turtles, lobsters, stingrays, nurse sharks, dolphin and an endless variety of tropical reef fish. After your dive excursion you may choose to return to your ship or stay and experience the local culture and beautiful beaches of Mahahual. Once a fishing village, Mahahual is now a small town thriving with wonderful beachfront shops, restaurants, bars, arts and crafts booths, and more. Note: Participants must be at least 10 years of age, weigh no more than 375 lbs., be in good health and present a certification card. Completion of a waiver is required. If you choose to stay in Mahahual after the dive, you are responsible for your transportation back to your ship. Located at the east side of beautiful Cozumel Island, with more than 16 years in the horseback riding business, this island tour is one you can't afford to miss. The adventure starts when you’re picked up at your ship's pier in Cozumel, where you’ll be taken by bus to your final destination, The Ranch. Each rider will be assigned a horse depending on their own riding experience. Then it’s off to the mystic land of the Mayan civilization that once upon a time resided at BuenaVista. During your hour and a half horseback riding tour, your guide will explain how their ancestors used to live, which gods used to be adored and also the way life was perceived back then. After getting a great view of the Mayan vestiges and several caverns, you will saddle down and enter the Beautiful IXCHEL cave where participants will learn the history of this ancient goddess. The adventure concludes at the cantina area at the award winning swimming pool where everybody is invited to enjoy a swim and one complementary soft drink, which are included in the admittance ticket. Guests can also relax in the hammock area. When all this is achieved, the bus will be ready to take everyone back safely to the original place of departure. Note: Participants must be at least 12 years of age and no more than 65 years of age to participate. Maximum weight limit is 230 lbs. Bottled water is provided during the tour. Guests must be able to walk unassisted and/or without any orthopedic device(s). Guests with back/neck injuries, recent surgery and/or pregnant women are not allowed on this tour.
