Weekend Cruises: Excursions

It’s new, it’s big; and it's fun for the entire family. Come play at Aquaventure, the centerpiece of the Atlantis Resort’s recent billion-dollar development. Containing over twenty million gallons of water, this non-stop water experience consists of thrilling new water slides, a mile-long river ride with high intensity rapids, wave surges, and never-before-seen special effects. The excursion also includes access to the huge, open-air marine habitat where you can find over 50,000 fascinating sea creatures. Whether you prefer a thrilling ride through a shark-filled pool or a gentle float on a never-ending lagoon, you'll find it at Atlantis. Note: Participants ages 3 or younger receive free admission if accompanied by a participating paying adult (parent or guardian at least 18 years of age). There is a considerable amount of walking on this tour (approximately 0.4 miles). Participants must be at least 48" tall to ride the water slides. Lounge chairs, towels and life jackets are provided. Non-motorized water sports are available for rent. Guests should bring a credit card for drink and food purchases. The transportation for this tour is by bus, approximately 25-minutes each way depending on traffic conditions. Guests participating on an Atlantis Shore Excursion must arrive at the place and time stated on the Shore Excursion ticket. Atlantis tour tickets will not be honored at the resort. This tour is available for all ships except Norwegian Epic and Norwegian Sun. The last transfer back to the ship will be one hour before sailing time. Prices may vary by sail date. less

Cruise along the trendy South Beach district, boasting the highest concentration of Art Deco buildings in the world. On nearby Star Island are the homes of Gloria Estefan and other celebrities. Drive along Brickell Avenue, the nation's second-largest banking center. Then, it's on to charming Coconut Grove. Finally, visit Coral Gables and see why this upscale area's diverse architectural styles and lavish landscaping have earned it the title 'The City Beautiful'. Note: This tour is only for guests with flights departing after 2:00 pm from Miami International Airport. Start your day with a 40-minute scenic boat ride through historic Nassau Harbor towards Blue Lagoon Island. Enjoy this private island at your leisure. Swim on a pristine beach or just relax and lounge in a double hammock. Take part in sports activities such as volleyball, and beach soccer. You can also visit the Dolphin Encounter’s facility and observe friendly Bahamian Atlantic bottlenose dolphins and sea lions in their all-natural habitat. Refresh yourself with a tropical drink and a complimentary lunch. Note: Participants ages 3 or younger receive free admission if accompanied in the program by a participating paying adult (parent or guardian at least 18 years of age). Premium non-motorized equipment such as aqua bikes, paddle boats and kayaks are available at an additional cost. Regular non-motorized equipment such as inner tubes, big boss noodles, and float mats are included. Wear your swimsuit, bring a towel and cash/credit cards for purchases at the facility. There is an additional fee of $15 per person for the inflatable aqua and bounce parks. Approximately 1/2 to 1 mile of walking on the pier is required. Explore the natural wonder of the Everglades from the comfort of your specially designed airboat. Informative, fun and exciting, this tour takes you deep into one of America’s largest National Parks - the Everglades. Here you’ll come face to face with alligators, exotic birds and native fish while gliding over an endless river of grass. Throughout the approximately 30-minute journey, your experienced guide will introduce you to the unique eco-system of the park as you experience the vast expanse of this saw grass wilderness passing by lush vegetation, mangrove swamps and hardwood hammocks. Known for its rich bird life, particularly large wading birds, be on the look out for the roseate spoonbill, white ibis, wood stork, great blue heron and a variety of egrets. It’s also the only place in the world where alligators and crocodiles exist side by side. Following your airboat ride you’ll be able to explore the park on your own. The Reptile Show will provide you with an informative, interactive opportunity to become familiar with the features of the American alligators. You may also choose to take the Jungle Trail, which leads to an area featuring American Alligators, and a crocodile exhibit, including various species from around the world.
