We had the best time. It was our first time on a large ship. We upgraded to the haven spa suite. It was so spacious and romantic. So glad we did, there are so many benefits. You have special dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Which we loved. The service was wonderful. We also ate at the specialty restaurants. You also can use the spa facilities. Which I loved. You never had to wait to long in line anywhere. We enjoyed the specialty restaurants. We went to all the shows. Our favorite show was the Illusionarium dinner show. We did enjoy all of them. Shopping on the ship was fun. We look forward to doing another NCL again in the near future....
This was our third cruise with Norwegian. I knew I had to sail on the brand new one the first season. We were so impressed with this beautifully built ship. We had never sailed on a giant ship, and I can tell you it never felt that way. We never waited for anything. Never felt crowded or overwhelmed. We have never eaten in a dining room on Norwegian because we find the buffet filled with delicious and mostly healthy choices. Night 1 prime rib sliced to order. Night 2 lobster tails and so forth. We had a balcony and yes it was small. Can't find it in my heart to complain about a balcony that showed me St Maarten. Service was excellent. Musti at the Waves bar by the pool was the bomb. Don't do shows, or entertainment, but I heard it was good. Love the adult only pool as we don't travel with children. Long story short... If you take this cruise you will not be sorry.. I took almost 500 photos... The trip is just gorgeous.
Spring Break w/o our Kids
We just returned from our 7 day cruise on the Getaway. Just my husband and I went on the cruise during SPring Break. There were a lot of families traveling with their children but that was to be expected as it was Spring Break. However, since we do not "hang" out at the pool, it was no big deal. The premium restaurants were fantastic! Kim (our server in La Cucina) was awesome! We ventured to the fare inclusive Taste and Savor restaurants for lunch - they were very good also. The buffet is what it is but we only ate there for breakfast. There is a lot to do on the ship. So much that we didn't do everything. NCL does charge for a lot of premium experiences (some restaurants and shows) but there are a lot of things that are inclusive as well. It all depends on what you like. Our cabin was great. We had a balcony room. The room had a lot of storage. We found the cruise director, Sinan, a little annoying to listen to at times, but that would not deter us from different events on board. We would definitely recommend this cruise to friends and family. We had a great time and plan on going again with our kids.
