Spring Break w/o our Kids
We just returned from our 7 day cruise on the Getaway. Just my husband and I went on the cruise during SPring Break. There were a lot of families traveling with their children but that was to be expected as it was Spring Break. However, since we do not "hang" out at the pool, it was no big deal. The premium restaurants were fantastic! Kim (our server in La Cucina) was awesome! We ventured to the fare inclusive Taste and Savor restaurants for lunch - they were very good also. The buffet is what it is but we only ate there for breakfast. There is a lot to do on the ship. So much that we didn't do everything. NCL does charge for a lot of premium experiences (some restaurants and shows) but there are a lot of things that are inclusive as well. It all depends on what you like. Our cabin was great. We had a balcony room. The room had a lot of storage. We found the cruise director, Sinan, a little annoying to listen to at times, but that would not deter us from different events on board. We would definitely recommend this cruise to friends and family. We had a great time and plan on going again with our kids.
I had the worst vacation while traveling with a group of high profile casino players. The food on the Getaway is horrible, they lack quality and sometimes freshness. The drink prices are way over the top. The casino machines are extremely tight. And they have a couple games of chance that are a waste of money that no one wins, and no one did win the key master game all cruise. The nightclub are boring and sometimes crowded with kids. The staff no speaka English well. HUGE language barrier. The spas a joke. Barber left hair all over my face and didn't style. Its a very GENERIC cruise and so is the director! Also they service charge everything you do and auto gratuity. I do not recommend this to anyone. The Room Steward was the only good thing.
