Barcelona's Best

The most relevant and interesting highlights of the city and one of Antoni Gaudi’s best known works are offered to you on this day. Special reservations have been made at La Sagrada Familia, so you can visit this treasure without having to stand in a long line. Enjoy a panoramic drive through Passeig de Gracia to view Casa Batllo and La Pedrera and other modernist inspired buildings. Stroll the narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter, built on the site of the Roman city, where some of its remains still stand alongside medieval buildings. See the Cathedral with its magnificent neo-gothic facade; your guide will give you an explanation from the outside and you may want to explore further during your free time. You’ll also see Sant Jaume’s Square, with the Town Council and the Autonomous Government buildings.

King’s Square is another stop during your walk - you’ll see it’s outlined by gothic buildings, topped by the facade of the former Royal Palace and its watchtower. Enjoy free time for lunch on your own, exploring further or shopping in the Gothic Quarter. You’ll drive to Montjuic and discover Spain’s architectural diversity as you stroll the narrow lanes and squares of the Spanish Village. You’ll find 117 full-scale replicas of the most representative buildings from different regions of Spain. Visit the craft workshops and experience firsthand the work of the artisans who produce unique items. There are various spaces exhibiting works of contemporary art, lots of shops selling good quality souvenirs and a wide variety of restaurants offering regional food and drink.

Note: As tour visits a religious site, please dress appropriately. No bare shoulders or shorts are allowed. There is substantial amount of walking on this tour, approximately 3 hours and 20-30 steps. Tour is only available for Norwegian Jade sailings.
