Encompassing the best that Bar Harbor has to offer, this tour includes not only the beautiful scenery of Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain. You’ll also learn about the fascinating world of the lobster fisherman with a visit to the Lobster Oceanarium and journey back in time to experience a remaining example of Bar Harbor’s Golden Age architecture. Your scenic drive will take you along the ocean’s edge passing Otter Cliff and Thunder Hole, where the ocean swells converge against the granite cliffs to create a thunderous roar. Depending on traffic and weather conditions, a photo stop may be made at Thunder Hole. You’ll make your way to one of the most scenic spots in all of Acadia National Park - Cadillac Mountain.

From this highest point on North America’s Eastern Seaboard, enjoy the 360 degree panoramic view and see how glaciers carved through the granite cliffs to form a beautiful landscape of lush forest, lakes and valleys. Continue to the Oceanarium and Museum where you’ll have the opportunity to learn about Maine’s lobster industry. A licensed Maine lobstermen will explain the life cycle of the lobster, and demonstrate how lobsters are caught, making their way from the ocean to your dinner table. Continuing to Bar Harbor, enjoy the unique ambiance of either the Cleftstone Inn or Saint Saviour’s church, both excellent examples of Bar Harbor’s Golden Age.

Note: At Cadillac Mountain, walking is at your discretion. Walking surfaces are paved and partially accessible by wheelchair, but there are some uneven, slippery-when-wet areas and some steps. If weather conditions dictate, Cadillac Mountain will be substituted with a stop at Jordan Pond or the Visitors Center. Morning tours will visit Saint Saviour’s church, while afternoon tours will visit the Cleftstone Inn. The order of the stops might be reversed to avoid congestion.
