If you have ever wanted to try SCUBA diving, but never found the time, this is the trip for you! Anyone over the age of 10 and in general good health can discover the delights and mysterious creatures of the underwater world. This shallow introduction to SCUBA diving is designed for the non-diver and is easy, safe and fun. A short bus transfer (approximately 3 minutes) from the cruise ship terminal will take you to one of the island's longest established PADI 5-Star Dive Resorts. After registration you'll meet the professional team of instructors who will provide you with the equipment you need. The Captain gives a detailed safety briefing during the 10 minute boat ride and then you’re ready to embark on your adventure. Upon arrival at the sheltered site, the Captain picks up the mooring and your instructor will give you a detailed training and orientation session. You will learn the basic rules of SCUBA diving, become familiar with the equipment and have some basic safety skills demonstrated. A quick knowledge review and then it's time to get wet!
Your instructor will help you get your equipment on and off we go, into the blue! In small, closely supervised groups (maximum 4 divers per instructor), you'll practice your newly found skills and head off on a tour of the reef. Colorful tropical fish, moray eels, lobster maybe even turtles will be hiding on the rocky reef and submerged wrecks, just waiting to be discovered! Treasures include a sunken submarine, helicopter, sailboat and cannon from Fort Amsterdam, what else might you find? Your course and dive tour is conducted by a PADI certified dive instructor to ensure your safety and maximize your enjoyment. Upon successful completion, you'll receive a small certificate and you're on your way to becoming a certified diver. After this experience, you'll wonder why you waited so long to take the plunge! It's time to carry on to full Open Water certification!
