Buck Island is a must for every visitor, whether you snorkel the underwater trail or just enjoy the cruise. Proclaimed as a National Monument by President John F. Kennedy in June, 1962, Buck Island sits off St. Croix's North Coast and consists of approximately 40,000 acres of sea and land.

Its’ main beauty lies in the fantastic reefs and a unique underwater trail. You’ll depart from the Frederiksted for a 45 minute scenic non-guided drive across the island to Christiansted. Enjoy a relaxing 40 minute powerboat ride touring the North Shore of St Croix on your way to Buck Island Reef where you’ll enjoy 1 hour snorkeling time at the Marine Garden. Your shallow wreck tour starts with the Suffolk Maid, a 144’ North Sea fishing trawler that sits in 60' of water. You'll proceed past a barge named The Virgin Islander. Progressing along to the final wreck, you’ll dive the North Wind, a 75’ tugboat sitting in only 40' of water. The North Wind was used in the movie "Dreams of Gold, The Mel Fisher Story". Second dive spot will be at a healthy, very colorful, coral reef. At an average depth of just 45’, it is a relaxing, easy dive.
