Less than an hour away from Saint John is the picturesque fishing village of St. Martins, a beautiful window through which to take a peek at life in New Brunswick. During the scenic drive to St. Martins, your local guide will entertain you with fascinating folklore about the village, including the thriving shipbuilding era of bygone days. Upon arrival, stop at the harbor and witness the effects of the extreme high and low tides of the Bay of Fundy. This area is a favorite with artists, with its lighthouse, lobster traps and fishing boats creating a charming scene. Stroll over the covered bridge and explore this working harbor. Visit the beach, where time and tides have carved echoing caves in the sandstone cliffs. Enjoy a walk along the beach and a light lunch of delicious seafood chowder at the beach restaurant. As you return to the pier, enjoy the scenery and reflect on your wonderful day in St. Martins. Note: This tour is also available with a French-speaking guide. French-speaking guests should book SJB_40. There will be alternate soup for those who don't eat seafood. Participants must be able to walk approximately 300 yards over even surfaces with 5 to 10 steps. Walking on the beach and at the Sea Caves is over very rocky terrain and is at your discretion. The Sea Caves are only accessible at low tide, but they can be viewed from the beach during high tide. The tide may be high or low depending on the time of visit. less

The waters of the mighty Saint John River collide with the Bay of Fundy for a breathtaking spectacle you won’t soon forget. The 'All About Town Loop' links you to many popular attractions and historic city landmarks including historic Uptown Saint John and the City Market where tasty treats and eye-catching crafts await you, and The New Brunswick Museum where the city’s rich heritage comes to life. With flexibility, choice and freedom this tour allows you to plan your time in Saint John shopping, sightseeing or just walking this harbor city at your own pace by hopping on and off our Big Pink Sightseeing double deckers. Note: Admission fees are not included in the price of this tour and are at the discretion of the guest. Double-deckers depart the pier and at all stops approximately every 15 to 30 minutes all day long. A dollar of the proceeds from this tour will be donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation. Collapsible wheelchairs can be stored, but only one is allowed per double-decker, due to safety requirements. Your local guide will delight you with both facts and folklore surrounding the Bay of Fundy coastal communities. Pass through Fundy National Park, where you can often spot various bird species and even an occasional moose. Then get ready to discover the Hopewell Rocks, the icon of New Brunswick. Experience these flowerpot rocks created by the clash of continents, carved by melting glaciers, then sculpted by the highest tides in the world. Interpretation will be delivered to explain how twice daily one hundred billion tons of water creates tides that can rise up to 50 feet. Then, enjoy your lunch at the High Tide Cafe. Relax as you enjoy the scenic New Brunswick countryside on the route back to your cruise ship. Note: Please note that due to the extreme nature of the Bay of Fundy tides, the stage of the tide cycle during your visit cannot be guaranteed. Meet your local guide at the pier for your guided walk to the New Brunswick Museum, where a guide will introduce you to the wonders of the Bay of Fundy. During this exclusive program, discover the forces that work together to create the highest tides in the world here in the Bay of Fundy, which rise to over 40 feet, or the equivalent of a four-story building. Hear about the geology and geography of the Bay of Fundy region, including why the Reversing Falls exist and learn about the variety of birds, seals and fish species that make the bay their home. After your visit to the museum, step outside and board a sightseeing boat for a closer look at the Bay of Fundy and the famous Reversing Falls Rapids. This sightseeing boat has been specially designed to take you up-close to the famous Reversing Falls, where the mighty Bay of Fundy causes the St. John River to reverse direction and flow upstream and from the boat. You’ll cruise around the harbor, alongside your cruise ship and past a number of significant Saint John sights. This is a Bay of Fundy Experience you won’t want to miss! Note: This is a walking tour. The Reversing Falls jet-boat ride is an adventure you won’t want to miss! This excursion begins with an orientation tour, including the Old City Market, Fort Howe and more. Then arrive at Fallsview Park and get ready for a thrilling jet-boat ride through the famous Reversing Falls Rapids for approximately 20 minutes and get an excellent view of the powerful whirlpools swirling about and waves towering. You’ll be provided with raingear in preparation for this fabulous adventure, but even with it, you’ll get wet from the waves and the spray. Note: Participants must be at least 13 years of age and a minimum of 42 inches tall. This excursion is not recommended for guests with heart or back problems or who may be pregnant. There are approximately 40 steps to negotiate. Although all efforts are taken to ensure this excursion is safe, in activities of this nature an element of risk is beyond human control. You’ll be asked to sign a waiver. Participants will receive raingear and lifejackets. It is recommended that you bring a towel and a change of clothes. The nature of the jet-boat ride is a thrill ride and participants will get wet. less
