Miami   -    Oct 12, 2011   ---

Norwegian Cruise Line has been named one of the "“Top Five Large-Ship Cruise Lines" in the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler's 2011 Readers' Choice Awards.  The awards appear in the November issue (on newsstands October 18) and are derived from the Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice survey.  This year, a record 28,876 readers cast a combined eight million votes on thousands of properties and destinations around the world.

"We are extremely proud to be on the list of the best large ship cruise lines as voted by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler," said Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian Cruise Line chief executive officer.  "We have been working diligently on enhancing guest service, improving crew training and focusing the entire organization on delivering an incredible cruise vacation for our guests. This is a testament to our collective efforts."

"The demand for excellence in travel has never been higher, and the results of the 2011 Readers' Choice Awards reflect the most exacting standards by the world's most discerning travelers--the readers of Condé Nast Traveler," said Condé Nast Traveler Editor in Chief Klara Glowczewska.

Norwegian Cruise Line earlier this week unveiled a new brand platform and integrated national advertising campaign, "Cruise Like a Norwegian," that embraces and celebrates the community of diverse vacationers who embody the passion, freedom and flexibility inherent in a Norwegian Cruise Line Freestyle Cruising® vacation. Cruising like a "Norwegian" is for those who live life to the fullest, embrace new adventures and are passionate about their experiences.  To learn how to "Cruise Like a Norwegian," visit the company’s Facebook page at www.ncl.com/facebook and click on the "See How We Cruise" tab.

Sheehan and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced last week  that Norwegian Cruise Line's new 4,000 passenger ship, Norwegian Breakaway, will make New York City her year-round home port. Beginning in May 2013, Norwegian Breakaway--which will be the largest ship ever to home port in the City--will sail a series of 22 seven-day cruises to Bermuda through October 6, 2013. These cruises go on sale this Friday, October 10 to Latitudes members, the line's frequent travelers, and the general public on Monday, October 17.
