Inventory Accountant

Description:

Maintain, control and audit all inventory levels onboard and in the AS400 system.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting (or other certification)

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Relevant shipside experience in finance is helpful.

Knowledge:

Computer Skills: Microsoft Word & Excel, Fidelio, AS400, Micros

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure and control the accurate receipt of all inventory, supplies and parts loaded onboard the vessel.
  • Maintain and audit inventory levels including stock issuance, stock levels, consumables, Food & Beverage, and Deck & Engine inventories.
  • Investigate, document, and correct inventory discrepancies. Report findings to shipboard and shore side management.
  • Generate and evaluate Bar inventories.
  • Prepare a Bar Recap report comparing bar revenue to bar consumption. Ensure that all potential revenues and bar variables, where necessary to balance, are in place.
  • Control of food waste in food preparation and serving areas.
  • Monitor and control all cuts of meat and their portions as per company standards.
  • Monitor all consumable waste/spoilage on board.
  • Control and monitor all items to be returned to vendor. Ensure correct paper work is prepared and coordinated with NCL Logistics. Ensure all off-loads are approved by appropriate department heads shore side.
  • Prepare all relevant documentation required by the E&C Officer to comply with NCL and Customs regulations. Ensure items are prepared for offloading as per ships procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure inventories are within acceptable levels and/or at par stock.
  • Monitor and document slow moving inventory to ensure proper turnover.
  • Conduct planned and unannounced spot checks of all inventories.
