Depart the pier for a short walk across to the train station to board your exclusively chartered train for an approximate 3 to 3 ½ hour journey to Berlin. While relaxing and watching the countryside, you’ll be served a light breakfast snack. Upon arrival in Berlin you'll be welcomed by your local tour guide. During your panoramic tour of colorful Berlin you'll stop at a remnant of the Berlin Wall and the famous former border crossing "Check-Point-Charlie". Continue to the Brandenburg Gate, which symbolizes the German and European reunification. You'll pass the Reichstag government building and the newly erected Holocaust Memorial. Drive along the Kurfurstendamm, Berlin's version of the Champs Elysees and bypass the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church before you circle the Gendarmenmarkt, home to the German Dom and the French Dom. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before the drive to Potsdam. Upon arrival enjoy a panoramic tour of this capital of the Brandenburg State, with its baroque city center and numerous palaces. Next you'll visit the centerpiece of Potsdam and summer residence of Frederick the Great, the Palace of Sanssouci. Depart this UNESCO listed World Heritage Site and continue to Cecilienhof Palace, built in 1916 in the style of an English country house. This was the site of the Allied Potsdamer Conference when the borders of Europe were redrawn after World War II. A historical conference attended by Churchill, Truman and Stalin was held here to discuss the future of Germany. You'll cross the Glienicke Bridge, where spies were swapped between the American and the Soviet sectors during the Cold War. Upon arrival at one of Berlin’s train stations, your escort will accompany you on a short coach transfer to a central drop off point in Berlin from where you’ll explore Berlin on your own. Return to a central train station in the early evening as your escort has instructed you, for your return train journey back to Warnemunde. Note: Upon arrival at Berlin station, you’ll receive a short coach transfer from the station to a central drop point. You spend time on your own in Berlin and also return to the departure station on your own. The tour price does not include any entrance fees, lunch or guiding services. It will be your responsibility to be at the return train station at the instructed departure time. Please note that actual time available to spend in Berlin will be subject to arrival/departure time and the station used for arrival/departure. This may cause a variation in time for exploration. Depart by coach for an approximate 75-minute journey to Wismar, a medieval beauty founded in 1229. Upon arrival you’ll enjoy a guided walk and explore this quaint Hanseatic city which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk along cobbled streets with Gothic houses, Baroque buildings and Renaissance facades. The classic Town Hall, the water tower, the historic drainage system and merchants’ houses from the Middle Ages are just some of the fascinating buildings this town has to offer. Stop for refreshments at a nostalgic brewery/pub (started in the Middle Ages) and taste some medieval ‘Mumme’ beer, which the citizens of Wismar already drank during the Hanseatic period. Depart the pier for Bad Doberan, a former summer residence of the Dukes of Mecklenburg and home to a grand example of Gothic red-brick architecture. Enjoy a visit into the Minster, which was built between 1294 and 1368 and used to be a mighty Cistercian convent. It is home to one of Germany’s earliest winged Altars and also exhibits the earliest wood carved Madonna statue in northern Germany dating back to 1290. Transfer to a tiny train station and board the 'Molli', a narrow gauge steam train, for a leisurely 15-20 journey from Bad Doberan to Heiligendamm, 'chugging' at an approximate speed of 35 km per hour. Pass along Europe’s longest tree lined avenue, also referred to as the 'green tunnel'. Board your coach for a brief ride to Kuehlungsborn, where your guide will take you onto one of the sea bridges which are very popular to these old resorts, before you get the opportunity to stroll through the town center on your own or treat yourself to a short walk along the beach promenade. Board your coach again for a short transfer to your refreshment venue where you’ll enjoy some coffee and traditional German cake. Note: Order of sights may vary.
