The town of Trogir is situated on a small island squeezed in between the mainland and the larger island of Ciovo. The tiny island is connected to the mainland with a bridge. Except for the green parks, the entire island is occupied by spectacular constructions of stone-houses, palaces, churches, towers and walls. The streets are narrow and they truly give a feel of how life might have been in the old days. You’ll visit the main attraction in Trogir - the Cathedral of St. Lawrence. This 13th century building is probably the finest example of Sacral architecture in Croatia. Other fine buildings that will be viewed are the Town Loggia, the Town Hall, among others. After visiting Trogir, you’ll have free time to explore the town on your own before boarding the bus back to Split. The Old Town of Split is built on and around the spectacular Roman Palace erected by the Roman Emperor Diocletian. The walking tour starts with a walk through the cellars that are still very well preserved. The cellars offer a good idea of how life in the palace was organized. You’ll also see the very interesting Cathedral of St. Duje (patron saint of the city). The cathedral is built on the remains of an ancient shrine and is supposed to be the oldest in the world. Other sites such as the Golden Gate, the Silver Gate and the Peristyle Square will be seen from the outside. Note: During summer months expect extreme heat, crowded venues and long lines. We recommend that you dress in layers, wear comfortable shoes, a hat, sunglasses and bring bottled water. A scenic drive along the coast, via a mountain road, will bring you to the picturesque town and peaceful holiday resort town of Omis. Situated at the mouth of the Cetina River, many of the Medieval defenses are still visible on a hill above the town. You’ll have some free time in Omis before boarding river boats for a scenic cruise along the Cetina River. The River runs out of the lake and parallel with the coast. A short boat ride will take you up the river to Radman’s Mills for snacks and a refreshment. From here you can walk into the forest or enjoy the view of the River next to this magnificent old mill. Upon visiting this charming natural setting, continue by motorcoach toward the Town of Split. At the core of this sprawling cityscape is the palace that Emperor Diokletian built for his golden years at the turn of the 4th century. What began as an imperial residence and fortified camp is today an intriguing warren of narrow cobblestone streets, where pre-Romanesque churches live alongside Gothic chapels, history-filled museums alongside galleries of contemporary art and delicious-smelling restaurants compete with bustling cafes for the attention of passers-by. A visit will also be made to the charming Temple of Jupiter and the Split City Museum. The City Split Museum occupies a set of Middle Age buildings in the north-east part of Diokletian's Palace, within which there are two yards, in which the most exhibition halls are situated. The setting of this adventure is the Cetina River with first and second degree rapids as well as peaceful flat waters that interchange during your approximately 3 hours of dynamic fun. These currents are ideal for the physically fit beginner. All you need is a sense of adventure to enjoy nature at its best. For thousands of years the Cetina River has been shaping the canyon while creating miraculous forms in the stone of its river bed. Crystal-clear river water with a pleasant swimming temperature, offers you a true experience of untouched nature with up to approximately 590 foot-high cliffs (180 meters), cascades, lakes, underground tunnels and the 131-foot high waterfall named Gubavica (40 meters). Finally, you’ll enjoy a picnic style lunch before the return drive to Split. Note: We recommend that you bring water shoes, a towel, a swimsuit and sunscreen.
