Program details and the number of game drives are subject to change depending on flight details:

Upon disembarkation in Cape Town, you will be met by a local English-speaking representative who will accompany you on your transfer to the Cape Town Airport where you will check in for a flight to Port Elizabeth.

On arrival at the Port Elizabeth Airport, you will be met by a local representative who will accompany you on the transfer to Amakhala Game Reserve. Travel time by road is approximately 1.5 hours.

Amakhala Safari Lodge can be found in a valley of indigenous bush at the northern boundary of Amakhala Game Reserve. African tribal design-inspired owners and artists, Mike and Justine Weeks have given meticulous attention to detail to this prestigious lodge, which is reflected in the fine African beadwork and handcrafted designs. The thatched lodge, with its unique safari huts and signature stone-capped rooftops, offers luxurious comforts and is an undisturbed retreat where you can regenerate your soul and tune into the sounds of nature. The view from the safari huts and lounge area is of the waterhole where monkeys play and antelope and zebra quench their thirsts. 11 luxury air-conditioned suites are complete with private plunge pools and separate lounge areas.

Depending on the time of arrival, you may enjoy lunch and then free time at the lodge. In the afternoon, you will gather in the main lodge for tea followed by an open-vehicle game drive. Later, you will return to the lodge for dinner and to spend the evening.

After an early morning wake-up call enjoy tea, coffee and biscuits before you head out into the wild for an early morning game drive in search of the Big Five and countless other fascinating creatures that make their home in the Eastern Cape.

Return to the lodge for breakfast, after which you have the remainder of the day at leisure. Lunch will be served in the lodge.

Later in the afternoon enjoy afternoon tea before embarking on your evening game drive. Enjoy drinks and snacks in the bush at sundown, before returning to the lodge for dinner.

Another early morning start allows you one last chance to head out into the wild for a morning game drive. On your return, breakfast will be served followed by check-out.

Depart the lodge together with an English-speaking representative, who will accompany you on the road transfer to Port Elizabeth harbor where you will rejoin the ship.
