Go Green- Art Eco Design in a Recycling Factory
Mesina (Sicilia), Italia
Duración 8 1/2 hs.
View a collection of eco-art created with discarded industrial materials in a workshop that formerly housed an electrical factory. Artist Linda Schipani launched this "art of recycling" experiment after graduating as an environment engineer from the University of Rome and working as a waste disposal and pollution project manager. Other artists have now joined the effort to convert industrial waste such as electrical components into unusual pieces of art. While browsing the factory space, you can expect to view original art made with wooden wire spools, metal rods, ceramic insulators and most every other industrial scrap imaginable. Sketches and paintings hang most everywhere, rows of old theater seats line the walls and shipping pallets have been re-purposed as sculptural pieces or to simply hold some of the art. Other odds and ends have been recycled into cutting-edge metal and plastic jewelry. The inspiring collection of artwork proves that one person's trash actually is another's treasure.
