Londonderry, also known as Derry, is Northern Ireland's second largest city. As one of the country's oldest continuously inhabited places - a monastery was established in the 6th century - the city is steeped in history. Derry is famous for being Ireland's only remaining intact walled city and one of the finest in Europe. You can walk alongside the historic walls and visit local museums to learn about the city's turbulent past, including the unrest surrounding the Civil Rights Movement.
