Begin in the historic Old Town with a visit around the iconic Clock Tower and main square, where you'll hear stories of Cartagena’s colorful past, capture photos, and enjoy time for local shopping. Then board a private boat for a narrated cruise across Cartagena Bay, taking in views of the Old Town skyline, Naval Base, and Castillo San Felipe de Barajas while discovering how the city’s strategic location made it a coveted target for pirates, privateers, and invading fleets. Follow the historic maritime approach toward Bocachica for an on-site visit to one of the fortifications that once guarded the entrance to the bay. After exploring Cartagena’s defensive heritage, trade history for leisure at an exclusive beach club, where you'll have time to swim, enjoy the pool, relax beneath the palms, and savor a complimentary local refreshment before returning by boat to the cruise terminal.

Need to Know:

Note: Participants must be at least 7 years of age. This approximately 4½-hour land-and-sea excursion is not wheelchair accessible and requires a reasonable level of mobility. Guests must be able to independently or with minimal assistance board and exit buses or vans, embark and disembark boats, navigate docks and uneven surfaces, and complete short periods of walking in the Old Town and at the fort. Please note this tour is not recommended for those guests prone to sea sickness, back problems or any existing serious physical condition as the boat ride may be bumpy depending on sea conditions. Customers have to sign a waiver if participating. The beach club features sandy terrain and includes approximately 90 minutes of leisure time, with a complimentary local refreshment provided; food and additional beverages are available for purchase. The excursion concludes with a direct boat transfer to the dock near the cruise terminal. Tour sequence and timing may vary due to weather, sea conditions, and operational requirements.
