Fly over the pristine waterways and stunning terrain beyond Hoonah and into a national park so inspirational that UNESCO has declared it a World Heritage site.

After departing from the pier, you will enjoy a brief but picturesque drive through Hoonah, the largest Tlingit community in the world. Upon arriving at the airport, you will board an aircraft that is ideal for viewing the vast Alaskan wilderness.

During your time in the air, you will look down on some of the most spectacular scenery imaginable. You can expect to fly over thundering waterfalls, mountain lakes, deep crevasses and azure pools that glacier meltwater has formed. Few landscapes can match the majesty and grandeur of the unspoiled hinterlands of Chichagof Island and beyond.

In time, you will fly over Point Adolphus at an altitude that allows you to spot marine creatures in the water and along the shore. This area boasts the highest concentration of humpback whales in the Alaskan panhandle, and you may well spot them breaching the water’s surface. You might also observe Dall’s porpoises, Stellar sea lions and orca whales.

Once you reach Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, the pilot will describe how the land appeared in the last Ice Age and the characteristics of the terrestrial and tidewater glaciers that you will see below. Deemed a World Heritage site for its stunning natural beauty, the 25-million-acre park is one of the world’s largest protected areas. As you will witness firsthand, it is inspirational in every direction.
