This half-day excursion includes highlights of the nearby scenic towns of Puerto Varas and Frutillar, both located on Lake Llanquihue. As you drive through Puerto Montt, you’ll see the colorful shingled houses. Continue to Puerto Varas, passing through lush countryside dotted with weathered clapboard barns and churches. Stop in Puerto Varas, known as the City of Roses, for a stunning view of Lake Llanquihue and for a photo opportunity of the lake and Osorno Volcano. Visit Frutillar, a charming village founded in 1856 by German settlers and noted for its Alpine and traditional German style architecture. Explore this lovely town and visit the open-air museum where you’ll learn about the life of the early German settlers. Frutillar is also known for its cuisine and German delicatessens, which you may want to try during your free time.
