Attend an inspiring Sunday service at the Congregational Christian Church, a beautifully restored building overlooking the bay in the village of Fagasa. The denomination traces its roots to English missionaries that arrived in American Samoa in the 1830s and it has grown substantially over time. You can expect the sermon to be uplifting with a universal message that encourages a love for Christ and a passion to serve all humanity, especially in the local community. Hymns sung by the church choir will add to the ambiance. The church setting will be even more moving if it is a sunny day as the interior will be bathed in natural light through the stained-glass windows. Following the sermon, you will be welcome to converse with the preacher at the front door or with members of the congregation. Afterwards, you might walk through Fagasa and take pictures of the village and the crater-like bay.
