hrs Estimate Duration
Get ready for an Alaskan wilderness adventure on the Takshanuk Mountain Trail in Tongass National Forest! Take the wheel of a 4X4 Kawasaki Mule and join your friendly and knowledgeable guide, as you journey through spectacular views of mountains and forests, including a panoramic view of the Lynn Canal and Chilkoot Lake from 1500 feet elevation! Your excursion begins in Skagway with a scenic, narrated cruise aboard a high speed catamaran down North America’s longest and deepest fjord to the town of Haines. A short bus transfer brings you to the Takshanuk Mountain trailhead, in the heart of the Tongass National Forest. Your guide will demonstrate how to operate the Kawasaki Mule, an automatic transmission, 4X4 utility vehicle that is used to traverse the six mile round-trip trail. The mules are equipped with seat belts for up to five guests and have storage for extra supplies and equipment.
