Enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience to discover the exotic underwater world of the Red Sea. A short drive takes you to where your motorboat awaits. You’ll set off to an area of the bay known as a premier snorkeling site. Upon arrival, you’ll enter the warm, crystalline waters to swim and snorkel amongst the colorful fish and beautiful coral. Those that do not wish to snorkel, may relax on board the boat. A qualified instructor will accompany you, provide assistance and offer information about the region's marine life. Bottled water and soft drinks are available on board for your refreshment.

Drive on, through the desert, to the Nabak Museum to learn about the area's local wildlife and birds. Continue through the mountains of Wadi Kharayza, making your way to the Bedouins' camp at Wadi Mandar. Your hosts will warmly greet you and offer you a cup of Bedouin tea and typical bread that has been prepared over a wood fire. As you enjoy their hospitality, the camp's young girls will display handcrafted Bedouin items which are for sale and make for a wonderful keepsake.

Experience the flavors of Ko Samui during this unique guided visit to a local market, followed by an exclusive Thai cooking lesson at the beautiful Nora Beach Resort & Spa. Depart the pier for the drive to a local market, which features a wide array of food and goods consumed by the islanders. Wandering among the tiny, packed stalls of this fascinating site is truly a unique experience and it offers excellent insights into the local way of life. Your guide will explain the essential ingredients in the preparation of a typical Thai meal. Please note that you will not be purchasing your ingredients for the cooking class here as they have already been prepared by the school.

Next, you will be escorted to the Nora Beach Resort & Spa for a memorable cooking class and lunch. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed at the resort with a traditional Thai Herbal beverage prior to your cooking class. You will then watch and learn how the chef prepares the food and explains the traditional methods used in Thai cooking. During this 90-minute cooking demonstration, you will be invited to don an apron and chef's hat and help prepare your meal before enjoying the results of your efforts. You will begin with a delicious bowl of chicken soup made with fresh coconut milk. Next, you will dine on deep-fried spring rolls served with Thai noodles. Refreshing seasonal fresh fruit will cap off your meal. Before returning to the ship a stop will be made at the Big Buddha Temple. It features a 36-foot golden statue perched atop a wide staircase decorated with dragons. The statue of Buddha is visible from several miles away and creates an impressive silhouette against the sea and sky behind it. Surrounding the Buddha, you will find a number of meditation huts, or kutis, along with several striking golden statues and shops.

Snorkel above Roman-era underwater ruins in the Archaeological Park of Baia and spend free time relaxing on a beach on the tip of the Phlegraean Peninsula. The artifacts submerged in the park’s waters include ancient pillars and walls from a luxurious Roman villa. These artifacts weren’t placed there as an attraction, but rather exposed by the gradual uplift of the sea bed from earthquakes and volcanic disruptions. The pieces are authentic, thousands of years old. The environmentally protected park is also teeming with marine life that have made this underwater world their home. The underwater relics will give you plenty to think about while relaxing on the beach at Lido Virgilio, from which you can see Mount Vesuvius, the source of the seismic activity that helped create the archaeological park.

OVERVIEW

Cruise through the mangroves around Harvest Caye on a Funcat electric catamaran that allows you to stretch out comfortably on the lounge seat and really enjoy the scenery. The covered catamaran has room for two, so you can be the captain or the passenger. Although you will be briefed on how to operate the catamaran, there’s really not much to it. Just use the controls on the armrest to go forward or backward. Steering is a breeze, too. Best of all, the catamaran is solar-powered, so there are no emissions and little noise from the electric engine. That way, you can come remarkably close to the wildlife without disturbing the animals in the mangrove-lined saltwater estuaries. Water birds are especially prevalent, so look for egrets, teals and ducks. The mangroves provide a highly protective habitat for birds and their complex root system serves as a nursery for marine life.

Cruise a crystal-clear lagoon just offshore and snorkel through an underwater sculpture garden before continuing on to idyllic Cook’s Bay. You will travel aboard a double-deck catamaran that is spacious and immensely comfortable. There are also plenty of open areas for sunbathing. While cruising along Moorea’s northern shore, you will enjoy panoramic views of the natural beauty and lush pineapple plantations that blanket the lower mountain slopes. The sights will be just as spectacular underwater as you will discover by snorkeling off Opunohu Bay. Besides seeing a never-ending parade of tropical fish, you will spot several volcanic-stone tiki sculptures scattered along the ocean floor. A local artist sculpted them in honor of the ancestral Polynesians that missionaries forced to throw their religious tiki symbols into the sea.
